Fried flounder, onion rings and coleslaw
    Apearl C.

Decided to order food from here while visiting the Wharf. When we arrived they were moving really slow. One guy taking and packing orders plus one cook in the kitchen. Waited about 10 minutes with one person in front of me to order. After we ordered another guy came out to assist the order taker. They give you a physical ticket of your order to hold with a number on it they call when your food is ready. We ordered a slice of carrot cake and two platter... fried fish, fries, and mac & cheese plus fried flounder, onion rings, and mac & cheese. When we were called up for our order we were told they were out of mac & cheese. We got hush puppies and coleslaw instead. Everything was delicious! The cake was like 7 layers and the icing was too sweet. Could not eat much of it. It was a waste of money. Unique spot... not your typical restaurant. No seating. With all the construction going on it is a great grab and go option with the 45 minute parking in the connected lot.

The fried shrimp was delicious and fresh! The amount for the price was really good too. Im not sure why the other reviews here were bad. Good overall experience! Service was really fast. Recommend mixing the hot sauce with the tartar sauce

    Banana Cake

Located at the Maine Avenue fish market, Evans Brothers Seafood is not to be missed. And how could you? They have a dessert window where they are constantly putting out sample slices of their delicious cakes and pies. I have sampled the vanilla cake with strawberries, chocolate cake, cheesecake and pecan pie cheesecake. The vanilla and chocolate cakes while tasty were a bit dry. The ultimate cake is the banana cake with cream cheese frosting. The layers have slices of banana in between. The cake is huge and for $25, well-priced. The slices they give out are ample enough that you really don't need anything else but it's just so good you gotta take one home. We were cake tasting beasts that day. Delicious!

Adsolutely delicious deep-fried goodness. Had the seafood combo with oysters shrimp mac n' cheese and hush puppies. Really hit the spot.

Now I'm not even gonna lie--the prices have definitely gone up a bit. The extra large crabs were $109 a dozen, so I grabbed a half dozen... and BABY... when I tell you those crabs did NOT disappoint!! They were BIG, heavy, and FULL! Not the prettiest things either--rusty, ugly little shells--but don't let that fool you. Honeyyyy, they were sweet, juicy, and packed with meat! I absolutely indulged with zero regrets. And let's talk about that butter I ordered on the side... whew! That just took everything over the top. Shoutout to the guys at Jesse Taylor--they did their thing! Great crabs, great flavor, and always worth the stop when I'm in the area. I'll definitely be back... even if it's just once a year! If you're nearby, go ahead and check them out--they're worth it, for real.

Be ready to get messy! I've been at this seafood market for many many markets. Since it's been revamped, prices have gone up. There were smaller stalls that also shut down as a result. So it only leaves Jessie Taylor's standing. The soups were good but I would've loved much more crab in my New England chowder. My partner got a corn on the cob and shrimp and the clam chowder. All were tasty and salty!

The ambiance bright and cheerful -- an upscale seafood place complete with an upscale, creative nautical theme. The food was great and came out fairly quickly, though we didn't feel rushed. With all the hype, we had to try the Maryland crab "crumpet," a tiny (maybe the size of a silver dollar ‍), toasty, round cranny-toast that had a decent amount of crab on top, though at $9 *each*, we couldn't decide if it was worth it. The crab was spiced nicely, though. One of our fave dishes was recommended by the server -- the tilefish kinilaw, a ceviche-adjacent blend of chopped light white fish, red onion, cucumber, mango (I think), & chives blended in coconut broth. YUM! It was served in a dish with lettuce cups, an interesting vessel for the fish-yumminess. We also shared a beet & berry salad with crunchy, candied pecans with a yogurt dressing. Yum! The entree (we shared) was surprisingly really good - another rec from our server -- the Massaman fish curry with fresh herbs & house-made, grilled roti, an interesting naan-like bread that proved great vessel for scooping up the decadent curry gravy. YUM! We also shared a Caesar salad with garlic croutons. It was good; nothing terribly special, but good. Really great meal. Great service. Great ambiance. We'll definitely be back. There's a really nice patio dining area facing the marina. We'd like to try that when the weather isn't so ghastly hot.

The shrimp hush puppies were just hush puppies; it was not worth the price. The Hawaiian poke looked beautiful, but was just okay. We ordered the lamb chops and curry. It took an HOUR for us to get our food. When it came my lamb chops definitely did not look like they were worth $60; they were extremely small and did not have a lot of meat on them. My best friend said her curry was fine, but it was nothing special. Our waiter was nice, but we often found ourselves trying to look for him and waiting for him to return to our table. The manager originally told us we could have our drinks free (a Shirley temple and a virgin mojito). We had to advocate for ourselves and ask for at least an appetizer off because we had waited an hour for our food. Overall, this place is nice for aesthetics but not for food quality and quantity. My best friend also asked for her food to be boxed and never received the boxed food. We waited so long to get our servers attention throughout the night, so we decided to just leave without the boxed food.

There weren't too many tables for people to face each other which is also a little bit strange they do have outdoor seating but the view honestly isn't something that I would recommend for outdoor seating even though it's on the wharf Parking in this area is really tough. The ice cream sandwich was interesting but slightly too big as it was melting before I'd had more than two bites. The Benedict I had high hopes for but sadly the crab was minimal and very, very burnt (as you can see in the photo--the dark mass). I ended up just pulling the small bits out and eating the rest on its own. I would rate my experience 3.5 stars. The service was good. There was a bit of a gap where I was asked if I wanted another glass of cava, I said yes, and then waited for around 20 minutes--with an empty glass and the bottle in a bucket next to me, it was a little odd it wasn't poured upon me saying yes. Also, upon tasting, there was a very foul odor to the cava. The server did provide a fresh glass, but to wait that long, then to wait another 15 or so minutes to grab the servers attention to tell them meant I had a near full glass as everyone was ready to head out the door. Overall I would be open to trying this restaurant again in the future but would probably order à la carte given my outcomes.

The restaurant was extremely busy, with the line out the door, so I understand it was a hectic day. However, the service was exceptionally slow. It took over 30 minutes for our order to even be entered into the system, and we waited about an hour for our food, including the appetizers. Our server, Brandon, started off okay after we were seated, but as the evening went on, he seemed distracted and less attentive to our table. With a large group that included children and a baby, we definitely needed more communication and support. The standout of the evening was the management team, especially Brandy. She was truly all hands on deck and went above and beyond to assist us. She was kind, customer-focused, and worked hard to address concerns and make sure guests felt taken care of. She honestly provided the best service we received during our visit. The food had several highlights. The char-grilled octopus was delicious and my first time trying it. The salad was top tier, and the shrimp fettuccine was probably one of the best dishes on the menu. The deviled eggs were good but could use a little more seasoning. The fish sandwich needed more sauce, and the fries and shrimp po' boy were both enjoyable, especially with extra sauce. One thing I didn't appreciate was the layout and accessibility of the restaurant. The space felt overcrowded, and the tables were packed very tightly together. As we were leaving, I had my son in his stroller and there wasn't enough room to comfortably get through. I was disappointed that our server didn't offer to help adjust the table or create a path for us to exit. I also noticed there weren't ramps that would make it easier for strollers or guests with mobility challenges to navigate the space. Improving accessibility and spacing would make a huge difference in the overall experience. Overall, the food and Brandy's exceptional customer service were the highlights of the visit. However, the long wait times, overcrowded seating, and accessibility concerns kept this from being a higher-rated experience.
