I wasn't going to leave a review, but after I had someone else come in and do what I had paid Kevin to do, I decided to. I hired Evans to come to a rental we own to close openings and get rid of rats that were getting into the house. I was given a price ($300) and said fine, please proceed. Kevin was going to close any openings he found and then set traps. He would be back 2 times to check traps. That is what the fee covered. I contacted him the following Saturday, since there was at least one rat in a trap. He didn't come until Tuesday afternoon, I guess because of scheduling and miscommunication between Neil, the owner, and Kevin. Not ideal, but understandable. Then he came a second time and we were under the impression the holes were closed and the rat issue done for now. Rats have a way of creating new entrances so you're never completely done with the issue. My husband stopped over the following week since the tenants were still hearing rats in the house and noticed the less than professional job that Kevin had done closing up a couple of holes. He contacted Neil and voiced his dissatisfaction and Neil was anything but professional. He claimed Neil was in a hurry and didn't have the supplies so he wasn't able to close the holes up as well as he should have. Then he proceeded to tell my husband that I wasn't willing to pay more for the services, so that is all they were hired to do. He also said I was over at the house when Kevin was there and was aware of other issues that Kevin pointed out. I'm not sure where Neil got this information, he obviously had me confused with another client, since that was 100% incorrect. I was never given any other price options nor was I over at the house when the work was done. We hired someone else to come in and close any holes that he found in the attic. He found and supplied photos of vents wide open and obvious holes that Kevin should have close, along with many other less obvious openings that he closed. read more

I dont often write bad reviews. Many times I will just not say anything at all... but these guys earned it. First they tell me they are coming Saturday. My office is closed Saturday, so I have to hire someone to come in. They don't show up. They say they will come Sunday... again a no show. monday they say 5:30 is too late to come. Finally Tuesday morning they arrive. Why did I not switch to another company you may ask? I am in a corporate building, and we have to use the exterminator that they provide. Otherwise... CAN'T RECOMMEND HIGHLY ENOUGH! When I saw termites on my wood floor in one room of my house, my neighbor suggested I contact Evans Pest Control, the company they have used happily for years for regular monthly pest control. I was impressed when the owner, Neil, took my call and explained the inspection process. I immediately felt a sense of trust with the company, and the fact that their goal is to treat the problem, and not necessarily automatically tent your entire home (unlike the two other companies I had talked to with extremely high inspection rates, and who were quick to push a full house tenting). Kevin came out precisely on time as arranged. I was astonished at how thorough he was. I have extensive crawl spaces under the house, and multiple attics added during remodeling projects. He spent a great deal of time in the attics looking carefully for signs of infestation. And he literally crawled throughout the entire crawl space giving the footings a careful inspection. Of course he then checked the interior of the home. He was committed to doing a thorough inspection and never rushed any part of it. And he was a great communicator along the way - a real professional who clearly understands the business. While in a crawl space, he found an adult rabbit hopping about - so he took the time to walk the perimeter of my house to look for any openings. He found a small chicken-wired cover pulled off - possibly by a possum. He took the time to get chicken wire from his truck and professionally sealed the hole for me (and I happened to have a safe trap to capture the rabbit to set him free outside). After spending a couple of hours doing a very thorough inspection, at an extremely fair price, he delivered the news...the termites were only in that one small area where I had seen them! And that price for repair was very reasonable. He was able to drill extremely tiny holes in the walls to get the treatment into the studs/walls. He then filled them with a clear filler and left things neat and clean. It's important to work with a company you can trust, and I have great trust and faith in Evans Pest Control. They are a small family-owned business and are keen on customer service. And Kevin was so well-trained and has been in the business for many years. I liked the pride he has in working for Evans - and he took the time to tell me about the warranty on their work as well. I highly recommend Evans for all pest control needs. read more

We've had Evans come out a couple of times now for inspections, and only once have they done any paid work - that's how honest they are. The first time, they came out after we saw swarming termites. "The other guys" recc'd tenting, as after examining the sample, he said we had drywood termites. His inspector crawled all over and found not other evidence, but said tenting at a cost of $$$ was what we needed to do. Evans came out, looked at our sample, and said nope - they were subterranean termites, but couldn't find the source - so no Tx recc'd at that moment. We soon found the location, they treated locally, and no more termites. A few years later, we saw termite droppings. Called Evans out again. Inspector dude crawled around, found no other evidence in attic, crawl space, etc. He recommended throwing the TV tray - the source of the droppings - in the trash. Problem solved! Now I'm seeing some little mud nests around the house - you know who I'm calling! read more
