I'm new to Annapolis, and went here because I got a giftcard from my husband. This was my first time. Booking the appointment was super easy - I did it online. I liked being able to read each massage therapist's bio and then see when they were available. I also appreciated that I could easily submit online their extremely thorough new client intake form. Arrival - I arrived a few minutes early and was greeted warmly and offered tea, water, and a warm trigger point neck pillow while I waited. I was taken into the massage room right on time. Jennifer was my massage therapist, and I was impressed that she had read my client intake form ahead of time (I appreciated that it didn't take up our appointment time!). She spent a few minutes asking questions about where I had pain today and where I wanted to focus today. Jennifer spent alot of time working out the kinks in my neck and back. She applied deep pressure skillfully. And she incorporated a rolling technique and some stretching too. She also somehow managed to also massage everything else. Hands down the best foot massage I've had. Overall, Jennifer was amazing - I walked in with a lot of neck pain, and I walked out able to turn my head without pain. This was definitely a therapeutic massage (rather than a run of the mill spa massage) and I was so happy to have lucked out in finding Jennifer. I will be back ! During the massage, I also appreciated some of the small details: - the lotion was a subtle peppermint or something along those lines that penetrated the muscles with a slight burn/cool sensation - Jennifer put a wrap on my head to protect my hair from getting lotion on it while she worked on my neck NOTE: Everyone has their own idea of what makes a good massage, so here's what I find important and how I based my review: - I generally prefer a therapeutic/sport massage rather than a relaxing spa massage, and I want a massage therapist who will use a lot of pressure where/when needed. Nothing worse than paying for a back rub. - I expect that the therapist ask what I may want to focus on, and then follow-through by spending more time on a specific area if requested - I like to be massaged for the full amount of time (except for the usual 5-10 minute dressing & discussing massage needs in the beginning) - Also important - Cleanliness, soft sheets, soft ambience (music not too loud/overwhelming, no heavy fragrance) read more

Therapists are always awesome! Management & scheduling continue to be a nightmare. Error after error goes unaddressed as if they don't care about the customer experience at all. Calls go unanswered , voicemails unreturned, repeated scheduling errors and the response is completely inadequate. Again, this is a front office issue. If you're lucky enough to get scheduled correctly, the therapists will take great care of you. read more

I'm a bit of a spa connoisseur - I try spas once or twice and then move on to another one. This is the first place that I have continually booked my massages at. Many places are hit or miss depending on your service provider. I have had 3 or 4 different therapists at Even Keel and every single one of them has been amazing - like fall asleep during massage amazing. I struggle with shoulder and upper back pain and these ladies have fixed me right up, applying the right amount of pressure to relieve the pain, but not so much that I want to cry. I feel better for days after an Even Keel massage. The spa itself is small but welcoming. I've never had to wait longer than 5 minutes, and they always offer you some delicious tea or water. I've never once felt pressured to make a purchase or to schedule my next service. The price is pretty much par for the area on the weekends If you find yourself with some free time during the week, an hour long massage for $80 is a pretty good deal. Local gem. This spa is full of friendly professionals - truly experts at the human musculo-skeletal system, which explains why they're so good at what they do - and I always leave feeling better. Simple: Book an appointment, have some tea and relax. The entire staff is super sweet, and the office is so efficient. I never have to wait past my appointment time, and I'm sometimes done early. Kylie is my favorite when i need a midday break from work stress. She's chatty, but not in a weird over-friendly sort of way. I don't want to see anyone else for my waxes or massages. After reading the reviews, I decided I had to check this place and I am certainly glad I did. The ambiance as soon as you walk in is very relaxing and the receptionist is extremely friendly. I got there fairly early, so I relaxed with a warm neck wrap and some tea until it was time for my appointment. I got the Fassage (Facial/Massage combo) and Kylie did both services. There are not enough words to describe how amazing she was. Her hands were heaven on earth and I have never felt so relaxed. I'm not much of a talker during massages and definitely appreciated her letting me relax versus trying to hold a conversation like a lot of masseuses do. For a moment I forgot where I was. That's how relaxed I was. I was able to drown out everything around me and just be. Now... the facial. Best! Facial! Ever! Kylie was so gentle and even extracted my blemishes. Both services lasted an hour though it felt like I was there much longer which is more than ok. I was so sad when it finally ended that I laid on the table for a little while longer holding back tears before getting up to leave. Lol. What really put this place over the top was the price. Since I booked both the facial and massage together, I got a 5% discount for both services. My total came to $185. I was blown away. Places like Massage Envy charge you $150 for just a massage (unless you're a first-timer). I was so pleased that I went ahead and booked another appointment for my birthday and a couples massage for my boyfriend and me. They tend to fill up pretty quickly and facials are only available on certain days. I would MOST DEFINITELY recommend this place. The hidden little slice of heaven really is THAT great. read more
