I forget that this spa is here…read more I came here because someone gifted me a gift card. I was a little bit offended when I got the gift card because I had never heard of this place. Who is Robert Andrew? The drive here from the city is a good 45 minutes drive if you don't have traffic, so add traffic and now I'm driving to the boonies for spa day, the math didn't math. However, I finally made my way to the boondocks and was quite surprised, not quite the spa I'm used to but not bad. They do not have a relax room or at least I wasn't offered that. Not sure if that's because they were busy or I got overlooked. I know relaxation rooms, their "tranquility" room, is likely small as most are but, I'm used to being told to come early or stay late to utilize all amenities. This wasn't done for me. The ONLY thing I love is that this place has couple rooms. Massages for couples, ummmmm YES please. I also love that they have packages for full day services that include lunch. A all day spa day is something every woman should do a few times a year. Not many places cater to this type of service anymore so for me, that's a plus here. Overall, cute spa, clean, and somewhat upscale. I wouldn't drive to this spa for service but if I lived in the area, I would come. Prices are reasonable. 3 stars for me only cause they do not have valet service, it's self parking, I didn't get to use the tranquility room, maybe it was packed, who knows, but if you advertise a tranquility room let your customers use it. If I'm paying 500$ plus for spa services I want full service from the door to the spa table and back! 3 stars but would return!

Upon entering, I was greeted, checked in, and taken to the women's changing room. The massage helped to relieve lower back pain I was experiencing for some time. Trevor was professional, polite, and a master at his craft. I look forward to booking regular stretch and massage sessions with him. I left feeling much better than when I walked in. Check out was quick and hassle free. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

I have come here at least half a dozen times and have always seen John D. I moved to Bowie from…read moreGermantown, MD about 3 years ago and had tried several other local massage studios with mixed to awful results. I have severe neck and back tension for the last 12+ years with frequent tension headaches and always ask for *DEEP* pressure. At other massage studios I've either had a massage therapist that was not using enough pressure, wasn't focused on the areas I requested, or did not seem to be well-trained to give a massage. And even if I found a therapist at a studio that provided a decent massage, the next time I would get someone else with wildly different (poor) skills, or after circling the "problem areas" on their form or telling the therapist directly what I wanted, I would just get a generic massage over my whole body instead of any focus areas and they wouldn't avoid the clearly marked "avoid" areas. And even if they immediately recognized and acknowledged "your neck is very tense!" I would leave feeling frustrated, still tense, and feel like I wasted money. Or the therapist would use things like their elbows (why?) to jab into me which was "deep" but didn't seem like it was an actual massage technique or if it *was* it wasn't used appropriately, as deep does not = pushing as hard as you can. After dozens of massages over the years I can tell on the first visit if a place is worth going back to. Onto John: From my very first visit here (Sept 2025) John immediately sat me down and asked, what was bothering me? After going through my issues, he'd then confirm "Would you like me to focus on your neck and shoulders today?" and then get to work. John is a rather big guy, (not sure how tall he is but definitely taller than 6'3!) and can look intimidating but he's a big softie! As a woman who mainly preferred female therapists, I was immediately comfortable with John and have exclusively booked with him since that first visit because I can tell he knows what he's doing and I always feel better after my appointments with him. I've also gone to my last several visits in a walking boot (I have an achilles injury) and he's made sure I'm comfortable and I completely trust him to avoid my injured leg and listen to what I need each time. My hips and lower back have been very sore from the walking boot height difference compared to my functional leg and he's focused on that recently at my request and it has helped immensely with my pain. I've always booked 1 hr visits but have considered booking longer visits which I never really have done elsewhere! Elements is more expensive than the non-chain studios in the area, but those places weren't worth the cost anyway! Another national chain (has envy in the name, you know who!) gave me a super lackluster massage in the past so I had been hesitant to try a chain again, but my experience at Elements has remedied that fear! Elements also offers gift card deals occasionally that give a discount which I just utilized for their mother's day specials. I will continue to book with John for as long as he is available at the Crofton location! I've also had great experiences with the receptionist - when using gift cards, canceling an appt after I chose a different day and time, and I've also had her reach out to offer an earlier time when John had a cancellation. The only thing I wish they offered was the ability to cancel your own appointments online but I understand they might not offer that so that people aren't constantly cancelling. A small critique as calling or texting the receptionist gets a quick reply always! Although I have not booked with anyone else besides John (looks like I've had 6 appts with him) based on his skills and knowledge I would bet the other therapists know what they're doing also! I will also consider getting a membership here because I know that I will keep going back :)

This is absolutely crazy. I do plan on getting a massage but not from this place and I will not ever recommend a Spa that doesn't have a live person answering the phone, hell I would have even left a message if it would have allowed me to. This Spa should be shut down if they don't have the manpower to have someone answer the phone and schedule appointments.

I had a fill-in and pedicure in preparation for my wedding and wasn't able to get in for an initial assessment. I was SUPER NERVOUS but Shawkia totally rocked it. I first met Shawnkia through a Groupon deal for a signature facial. My skin became dry, pigmentation issues, blotchy and acne ridden while pregnant. I had visited dermatologist after dermatologist when I decided to pursue a more non invasive approach. Shawnkia was very knowledgeable and explained every product she used on me. Now for the winner and what has made me a forever client of Shawnkia.....she makes her own products. That's right you heard me from the serum, to the cleanser, to the orange based tonic I adore to the cucumber infused moisturizer it is all made right from your girl. The particular line she used on me was for environmentally stressed skin. Other products leave my skin burnt or dried out these products were gentle, soothing and left me radiant. I have started getting so many compliments after 4 visits that I no longer have to wear makeup to work anymore. The blotches and acne are gone. Shawnkia takes her time, and when I say she makes sure I leave glowing my facial experience is a spa experience I dedicate an hour to an hour and a half and during that time I am relaxed and enjoying the process. I even tend to fall asleep towards the end. I just finished a package of 3 customized facials and now only go every 6-8 weeks to keep myself on track. She is currently sold out of products and when I say I am literally scraping the jar until she gets more. Aveeno, dove, oil of Olay....you better watch out because State of Relaxation is coming for you!

Overall, I'd say my specific experience was closer to 3.5 stars, but I'll bump them up to 4, giving the benefit of the doubt that some issues detailed below were beyond the control of the therapist and spa. The good: **Mary is a fantastic massage therapist. She was communicative, friendly, and responsive when I asked for adjustments/changes. She understood what I wanted to have her focus on and did a great job. By herself, it would be a 5* experience. **The spa is clean and relaxing. Both the massage rooms and the restroom were in great shape. **New Massage tables - at least when compared to my previous experience with Jing Jing/Daisy. **Very affordable, especially with the cash discount for a one-hour massage. Things that could have been better, but I'm not docking a star for: **The night sky ambiance (noted in other google and yelp reviews) wasn't offered - but giving that I'm face up for only about 10-15 minutes, it isn't a huge thing. **Similarly, their website mentions essential oils and hot stone, but again, these weren't offered/discussed. Depending on the cost, they might have been added to the massage. The things that made my overall experience less than stellar: **I called around noon, and made an appointment for 3pm. I arrived around 2:50, and Mary came out of one of the rooms to meet me. She told me things were a bit behind, and it would be 3:15, and showed me what room I would be in. At 3:15, she came in, and said the previous customer was just finishing up. However, by the time the previous customer dressed, paid, and perhaps Mary flipped the room, it was 3:30 before she started with me. So we are a half hour behind the original time. **Mary was also quite busy with being a receptionist - she answered about 5 calls, and had to leave the room to attend to other issues twice. The interruptions definitely affected the flow of the massage. I don't know if they were short staffed, or extra busy due to the rainy federal holiday. **Despite losing some time due to the interruptions for when she had to leave the room, the session ended promptly at 4:30 - no extra time given to make up for time that I was not the initiator of missing time. Most times for the phone she continued the massage while quietly talking to the customer. **At least for my session, the door was kept slightly propped open by a plastic spray bottle on the floor. Not exactly private, especially since I was in the room right next to the lobby. If any one of the above things had been an individual incident, I probably wouldn't think much about them. But when they all occur on the same visit, well... the whole is greater than the sum of the parts... Maybe it was just a rough day for them. Hopefully my next experience will be a little smoother.
