Prices for Vaccines plus $26 for mandatory wellness check.
    Raeleen V.

I experienced a few issues with this place: 1. Called to make an appointment, left a voicemail and they never called me back. 2. Called again, waited awhile for someone to answer. I asked what they charged for Vaccines but was not informed of the "Vaccine wellness exam" 3. When I arrived for the appointment there was no one at the front desk and she didn't come out till about 15 mins later when another customer came in. 4. I was then given an estimate of the vaccines, which included a mandatory $26 "Vaccine wellness exam," I was not informed of this when I called. They are basically charging $26 to check your pet's temperature. I've never experienced this so called fee at any other vet's office. Seems like a scam charge. 5. Just an FYI, when I walked in there was just one other person in the waiting room, by the time I left every seat was taken. On the positive side, place smells & looks clean.

In route to Evening Pet Clinic at 4:16 pm Mommas baby had a swollen face
    Brijette M.

Just for todays visit I give them 5 stars and then some!! Why??? Because we did NOT have an appointment in fact we had an emergency, YES AN EMERGENCY because Coco had what appeared to be a bee sting because her face had started to swell after coming in from using the potty and playing in our backyard.. At 4:11 pm is when I called which was immediately after I had taken notice to coco being swollen in the face, asked if they had any openings I was told no but I can bring her in and not even kidding AS SOON as we stepped foot in , the lady at the front desk told the lady in the back "CoCo is here!" And not even a minute later we got called into the room... we are extremely THANKFUL, GRATEFUL & APPRECIATIVE for Dr. Hardy and his staff I've had HORRIBLE experiences with vets, not trustworthy AT ALL because I KNOW that these days they seem to prey on your desperation and emotions to find out what's wrong with your fur babies as well as you wanting to fix whatever issues they're having~ to ME it's been a complete money Scheme BUT I honestly feel safe bringing all THREE of my babies here! Not the first time for us coming here either... but this UNEXPECTED EMERGENCY and the way they had us in and out, and coco back on the road to basically instant recovery HANDS DOWN was the icing on THIS vegan cake ( also pricing wasn't bad AT ALL ) Photos will be enclosed and it will be from the time we were on the road to Evening Pet Clinic and once we returned home... Dr. Hardy prescribed Coco a 5 day medication but while we were there he injected my baby with the medication that was needed for this case ... FYI when I called at 4:11pm I had NO IDEA that their closing time was at 6:00 pm until we were getting ready to leave and I asked... WE were out of there way before 6:00 I don't even think it was 5:30 yet ( I was in too much of a panic to ask prior or to even pay attention to their hours of operation today) Thank you Dr. Hardy and your staff....

Dr. Grain is the best. We have gone to him for 10 years. He has treated a possum, a canary, numerous dogs and cats. He has always been fair and honest never taking advantage of a desperate situation. He's always said it's not my job to keep this sick animal alive. Dr. Gain is very knowledgeable in all aspects of veterinary science. He is willing to take time to share his expertise and experiences with his patient's parents. After many years of practicing in our area, Dr. Grain has decided to take a well deserved rest and retire. In his place, Dr Hardy is taking over the practice. He is a capable, young veterinarian. He is both gentle, caring and thorough in his examinations. I know that he will carry on with Dr. Grain's love and care of our pets. In addition the office staff at Evening Pet Clinic are caring, accommodating, and knowledgeable in the care of pets. I highly recommend Evening Pet Clinic for your pet's needs. And I wish to thank Dr. Grain for keeping our pets healthy and happy for many years. Mary Recinos

They ran urine and blood tests as well as x-rays. Her urine and blood results came out normal so she may have just had an infection that went away. However, they noticed a metal bottle cap in her stomach! Ocean often eats random things off the ground but she wouldn't have eaten a bottle cap unless it was in some food! Regardless, they tried a method and thought she would be able to pass it in the next couple of days. Well, a whole week passed and it didn't. So, we took her back and they needed to surgically remove it. The procedure seemed to go smoothly. We picked her up at the end of the day and she was still out of it, but relieved to come home and was able to drink and eat. We gave her medications as prescribed. The incision was about 9 inches across Ocean's belly. We did our best to keep it covered, but she did scratch it a bit. At her follow up appointment, they removed the sutures and provided antibiotics and a solution to keep it clean. At her third follow up, they provided antibiotics and ointment for the redness, but she healed pretty well in a matter of weeks. They said going through the esophagus would have damaged it, so this was the best approach to getting the bottle cap out. As a souvenir, they gave us the cap in a ziplock bag and we could see that it was starting to rust. They were great about calling and checking up on her and they did an excellent job stitching her back up. They gave us an estimate range of the cost prior to the procedure and luckily, it was on the lower end, but still a dent in our wallets. Ocean was a champ through this healing process despite not knowing what had even happened to her! Thanks again to the team here for helping Ocean out!

Our regular vet initially gave antibiotics and medication, and he said if it happens again, we should take her to the hospital for more test as he was thinking there was something in her bladder like stones. When the symptoms returned a week later, we knew we had to take her to the hospital. Since our usual clinic doesn't offer urgent care, we searched and found this hospital on Google. They were able to see us the same day. The front desk staff was very kind and welcoming, and even though the place is currently remodeling, everything still felt organized and efficient. They performed an X-ray, blood test and urinalysis, found a bladder stone, and clearly explained the situation and treatment options. Because the stone was too large to pass naturally, surgery was recommended. They walked us through the procedure, provided a clear estimate, and scheduled surgery for the very next day. The entire visit took about 3 hours, and we felt our dog was in very good hands the whole time. She is now on the road to recovery, and we're so grateful for the care she received. We also appreciate that this hospital is closer to home -- we've definitely found our new vet. Thank you to the whole team for taking such good care of our girl.

He had localized cancer in one limb and we chose amputation and he lived happily for years with careful follow up within this clinic and was put down with compassion and love when his time came to cross the rainbow bridge. We were mailed a note from staff along with his cremation which we still have. I brought my now senior cat (17 years old) here and did not feel the same kindness and I'm very disappointed and miss the previous team. I was informed we're starting with blood work but his symptoms may indicate neurological up to and including a brain tumor. I do not disagree with this assessment or recommendations as I work in the medical field and brought him in for these concerns. With that said, there is a way to deliver this information with kindness (as I previously received by Dr Gambles practice for my other cat) that was not delivered today. I inquired prior to my appointment if it would have to be a drop off appointment and they said no, exams are with the pet parent present however my cat needed blood work. Feisty as he is, he would need sedation. This sedation I was told was only gas. I'm certainly aware this does not require hours of recovery but I understand the need for drop off. However, I was told they would call me when pickup is ready and I told the tech I need some time frame. I was informed it would be 6+ hours "because we have other clients". I could understand if the rational was sedation for a period of time, but to keep my cat, in distress for being at the vet, for 6+ hours for blood work due to other clients when I made an appt discussing my concerns before coming seems excessive. Upon my question for this concern my cat was just brought out to me. I appreciate this as I do not want my cat in care where his time isn't considered as my main concern is his comfort especially in his age and condition. Overall, I won't be returning. I'm very disappointed in the care that has changed at this clinic. This is not the care that would have ever been delivered with Dr Gamble. **follow up, my cat had an appt with a different clinic and got blood work twice with me present in the room. He was treated with compassion which led to him being compliant without sedation. Additionally, the vet heard a heart murmur that was not discussed at the conclusion of this previous vet assessment. This makes me question the thoroughness of the assessment and the need for sedation as I was not present when they stated they attempted blood work.

I brought my dog in for a routine anesthetic dental cleaning. During the procedure, I received a call saying they needed to extract four teeth and that the total would be $2,400. I've had anesthetic dental cleanings done for my dogs at multiple veterinary hospitals over the years, including procedures with extractions, and I have never paid anywhere near that amount. After my husband questioned the estimate, the cost suddenly dropped to around $1,000 for two extractions. That alone left us wondering how the original quote was determined. The pickup experience was even more disappointing. I was handed three pieces of paper with very little explanation and no medication. Every other veterinarian I've been to has sent my dog home with pain medication directly from the clinic. Instead, I was told I needed to call around to CVS and other pharmacies to find one that could fill the prescriptions. Meanwhile, my poor dog had just undergone oral surgery and was crying in pain. I had to take her home first, then immediately drive to CVS. Once there, the pharmacist spent over 30 minutes on the phone with the vet trying to clarify the prescriptions. Then came the most alarming part of the entire experience. One of the prescribed medications was rejected by the pharmacist because it contained xylitol, a sugar alcohol that is highly toxic to dogs and can be fatal if ingested. I was shocked that this prescription was written in the first place. Had the pharmacist not caught it, I could have unknowingly given my dog a medication containing an ingredient that poses a serious danger to dogs. That was the final straw. I have three dogs and recently moved to Long Beach, so I was hoping to find a veterinary clinic I could trust for years to come. Unfortunately, Pine Animal Hospital has lost what would have been a loyal customer. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this clinic and would encourage others to look elsewhere.

Thank you for reaching out and listening to our concerns. I would like to sincerely thanks Ambassador and their sister location, All American Animal for showing compassion during our recent visit on 02/24/2026. We are long-time patients of this clinic and have always trusted the team with our dogs' care, which is why we continue to come here whenever our pets are not feeling well. We brought Kino in because he was experiencing excessive itchiness, redness, vomiting, and was clearly in discomfort. Despite the office being very busy, we truly appreciated the time that Dr. Meina took to see him and make sure he received the treatment he needed. From the moment we were brought in, he listened attentively as I explained Kino's symptoms and concerns. It meant so much to feel heard and understood, especially when your pet is clearly not feeling well and in distress. Dr. Meina took the time to thoroughly assess Kino's condition and explain the available treatment options, ensuring we felt comfortable and informed with the plan of care. His patience, professionalism, and compassion helped make an already stressful situation much easier for both us and our dog. I would also like to thank Marisol, the manager, who reached out after we addressed our concerns and helped refer us to their sister clinic's urgent care so that Kino could receive the care he needed as soon as possible. Despite some initial misunderstanding, the office took the time to listen to our concerns and worked with us to find a way to assist in getting Kino the care he needed. That level of communication and willingness to help truly made a difference. Veterinarians and their teams play such an important role in relieving pain, managing illness, and ensuring our pets are comfortable and safe. We love this clinic and appreciate the dedication the staff shows to their patients and families. Thank you again to Dr. Meina and Marisol for taking the time to listen, support us, and make sure Kino received the care he needed.

I was told we'd receive the results within a few days, but I never got a call and had to repeatedly follow up myself. When I finally spoke with the doctor nearly a month later, he seemed to think we had already discussed the results. I had to remind him that we had only talked about the initial findings and that the entire reason I paid for the additional review was because he recommended it. I also requested my cat's medical records and was told they would be emailed to me, but they never were. The staff were always friendly and professional, which is why this experience was especially disappointing. My concern was never the friendliness of the team, but the lack of communication and follow-through. Had the findings been more serious, the delay in follow-up could have had much greater consequences. At the end of the day, I'd rather have prompt communication than have to repeatedly chase down results while worried about my pet's health. Time for a new vet.
