When my husband and I first started discussing expanding our house in 2020 we were not sure who to contact. I saw a number of houses in our neighborhood with. Murphy Construction sign so decided to give a call. Skip called me back within 24 hours and was over a few days later to speak about what we would like done. He was very honest in terms of the cost of the extension as well as the time frame on when he could start work (we expected a wait time since everyone is redoing their house right now!). He was true to his word on both which we were very thankful for. We we're also extremely thankful that Skip and team were understanding when we said we had a baby on the way to ensure everything was done prior to his arrival (which it was - HUGE THANK YOU!). In terms of work, Skip, Marvin and his team demolished our sunroom and previous bathroom and added on a new hallway, linen closets, bathroom, additional bedroom and family room. They also redid our floors upstairs, finished the attic, provided new windows in a previous bedroom, installed wall air conditioners in 4 rooms and created a covered patio area outside off of our new family room. Our smallish 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom house has truly been transformed into something we couldn't imagine. We are beyond happy with the way everything turned out and could not be more thankful. The whole team was extremely courteous, kind and responsive. My husband and I both work from home so we literally were around to watch the house transform around us. The team showed up diligently on time, every single day and quickly and efficiently worked to get the job done with a few short months. We even made some changes as work was progressing and they were more than accommodating to ensure the job was done to our liking and to what we wanted. Laura, one of Skips office managers was also wonderful in ensuring any extras we added on our changes were relayed to Skip and team. Overall, the whole process was seamless and we fully recommend them to anyone who is looking to remodel. All of the sub-contractors (plumber, electrician, tile, floor, foundation, etc) they used were also truly wonderful so it was comforting to know that we had people we could trust at our house. The gutter debris is mostly pulled out by hand much more easily than I could imagine myself doing, resting ladders at proper points as the vinal siding is new and definately not structured to support pressure. Using a blower to extract what remains the workers always ask permission to enter our neighbors yards where some sticks, leaves and tennis balls had fallen to. Running up and down the driveways moving equipment cleaning every single stray item on the properties is why I call on Abraham to clean my gutters and leaders as well as apply some mid year preventative maintenance.

We were storing all of our wedding gifts and many other items in the attic during this work, and the workers should have easily seen that it was being trashed. I was forced to bring everything down to clean myself, but the debris that is spread throughout the attic will most likely just stay there forever.

Since the building is both commercial and residiential, one of the biggest concerns was minimizing disruption to tenants, and of course keeping everything on budget and organized. From the start, Royal Renovators seemed to understand these concerns and put together a plan that worked around the building's daily operations. The existing roof was removed, damaged areas were addressed/fized, and a new roofing system was installed along with snazzy updated flashing and drainage improvements. Communication throughout the project was - chefs kiss - and we always knew what stage things were in. As expected, there were additional conditions unconvered that needed to be addressed. But, these guys were transparent about it, laid out the options like they did before, and it didnt turn into pressure or surprises. What stood out was how transparent they were when additional conditions were uncovered. Every decision was discussed beforehand and documented with photos. In the end, the new roof was completed on time, and is performing exactly as expected.
