I finally had a chance to stop by here after months of people saying they had good momos. I had the Chicken Jhol Momos (chicken momos in broth) which I ordered 8/10 on their spice scale. Happy to report that they have really good momos and the best jhol I've had in the Triangle! Their jhol is super similar to the jhol you find in Nepal and it's packed with ground up toasted soybeans (my fave)! They also wrap their momos to perfection, which made me enjoy them even more. I'm going to need to find the time to go and try more items from their menu because these were really good and took me by surprise. read more

This is hands down my favorite restaurant in the Triangle, no competition. The Nepalese selections (specifically the chili momo and jhol momo) have amazingly complex flavors. The Indian side of the menu is quite good too. The chef is very talented at bringing out the best flavor in food consistently. I've been coming here religiously for over a year now and have only been disappointed once (and it was still good, they made it right too). The staff are very friendly and attentive. This is one of those small businesses you want to support. This is a challenging time for all restaurants, so I highly recommend that you get their food for takeout...you will be glad you did! read more

The food is phenomenal! The staff is so nice and the restaurant is small and cozy. The portions are also very generous. I had shrimp tandoori and I chose a spicy level of 5 that was the perfect level of spicy. My mom had the lamb korma and there was so much lamb in the dish we took some home, she said it was incredibly flavorful, hot and the lamb was very tender. I would definitely come back again. What a great place. I was worried at first because it's very unassuming. As I walked in for my Valentine's reservation, I saw food on the other tables and it all looked outstanding. 2 hours, 4 dinners, 3 appetizers, and a few cocktails later, my group was more than satisfied. The food is amazing - delicious and fresh in an impressive way. The staff was attentive (and friendly) and when one entree was delayed, brought a complimentary appetizer to make up for the delay. This was our first experience with this restaurant. Our to-go order for samosas, chicken tikka masala, lamb korma and palak paneer was 20 minutes late in being ready. Upon arrival home, we discovered that the lamb korma was missing (they gave us two palak paneer instead), and the container which was presumably chicken tikka masala contained no chicken. We called the restaurant and they were already aware of their error, despite which they had not reached out to us. We drove back to the restaurant and after a few minutes were given a lamb korma and a chicken tikka masala. No other consideration or compensation was offered to us for our inconvenience. The food: The samosas were really very good as was the rice pudding. The korma, masala and the paneer were all good, but not great. They actually all tasted about the same, as though they had been made by adding different ingredients to the same sauce. With other Nepalese and Indian restaurants readily available in our area, it is unlikely that we will be back. read more

I ordered palak paneer, chicken 65 and chili momo. The palak paneer was good but a little too creamy for my taste. Chicken 65 was good but not very different from most restaurants. The chili momo , I did not like. The sauce was sweet and sour but there was no balance. The momo covering was too hard. I could eat few of the momos and had to throw the rest. Thought I should have ordered the biryani instead. Although 2 of the dishes were ok, I doubt I will order again. read more

I think we probably gave the server a big eye roll with our order. Between two people we ordered enough food for six, and then proceeded to only take some of our leftovers home. We were two excited to be trying a new place and probably got a little too creative with our order. We tried a mix of the veggie chili's (not an option on the menu but they accommodated when we asked), the street noodles with egg and the "momo-zza". The chilis and the street noodles were good, and more than enough food for us, but the pizzafied momo was definitely an experiment gone wrong. The tomato based sauce that was on it was all wrong with the dumplings, it was too sweet and we just couldn't make ourselves eat it, or take it home. We should have just gone with the traditional momo, or just been satisfied with the too much food we had already ordered before that. It was ultimately a completely fine dining experience but I left feeling like a horrible wasteful American afterwards. Learn from my mistake and keep to the traditional stuff. read more

When I visited Raleigh last year I stopped here for lunch and were SO HAPPY with Everest Nepali Kitchen! Now that my husband and I have moved to Raleigh we make a point to get over there for lunch or dinner. We've had many of their dishes -- momo dumplings, vindaloo, okra, samosa chat, and more. Everything has been amazing, fresh, and spiced perfectly. The flavors in the food are incredible and we are always so happy to bring home leftovers (which don't last long in our fridge because they're so tasty!). The prices are very fair, the service is awesome, and the atmosphere is relaxing and clean. I would love to see them use more eco-friendly takeout boxes (rather than styrofoam) -- but that small suggestion doesn't take away from how wonderful this restaurant is. read more

We ordered food from their website, they said it will take 45-60 minutes. After an hour an 15 minutes had passed we decided to call to find out if there was a problem with our order. No apology was given just a very cold "we've been busy". So service not good. We were a small group of 4 and we oftain eat this kind of food, the flavors are not new to us. So when I say the garlic naan was partly raw and lacking in flavour, trust me it was. This is the first time we actually tossed out naan. My saag was fine, the butter chicken was not BUTTERy and creamy as in most places, the rogan Josh was ok but the lamb was way over cooked and hard, the sauce tasted like a jar of sauce picked up at the grocery store. The momos were very dense. Chow mein should have egg noodles but the dish was clearly spaghetti noodles. Our little group of friends are good eaters, never tossing out food, NEVER! But last night we tossed out at least half of what was on each plate and then went straight for the plate of cheese and crackers that I had prepared earlier. So no, none of us enjoyed the food. read more

Went there today and enjoyed *almost* everything. We ordered samosas, lamb biryani, yellow dal, channa masala, naan and chicken pakora. The naan was very good, light and fluffy! The main dishes were excellent and prepared well. I did not care for the chicken pakora at all, it tasted like a frozen and fried chicken finger and the samosa were nothing special (also seemed like possibly pre-made) however..... everything else was quite tasty! Service was good, the space is clean and cute, prices are a little high compared to other similar places in the area but their portions are generous and unlike several other similar places, they didn't skimp on the meat!!! The Indian restaurant we normally order from was closed on Tuesday, so we took a chance, and placed an online order for pickup. The owner was waiting and had our food within minutes. The smells from the package were crazy good. And when we got home and saw the packaging care and beauty of the meals, we knew we were in for a treat. The three entrees with naan and samosas were out of this world. Some of the best takeout food we have had. We ordered Aloo Gobhi, Tandoori Chicken and Shrimp Masala. Decided to try this place out as the last place was in this location came and went so fast I didn't even have a chance to try. I preface this review with saying I am no expert at Napaluin food but haven't had it before. This review may be slightly different than the prior ones as we went in for dinner. Ordered an entree that would be considered off the dinner side of menu. The price point for lunch seems spot-on but I think the dinner items maybe a little high. Fortunately, we did receive the 15% discount that they are offering for a new restaurant but without that it certainly would have seemed very high. The restaurant thing practically empty and being able to hear literally everything it seems like only two people are working at night on a Thursday. Definitely need to increase the music or do something to pick up the atmosphere when it is so quiet. The owner did come out to apologize about the air conditioner not working so hopefully they will get that fixed soon. No beer or wine is available which I don't think is a big deal at lunch but it does play a larger role at dinner. I was on the fence between three and four stars but but thinking it through I'll give it 3 for now this time but I think this place has real potential. The food came out in a timely manner and was delicious! After they work on the atmosphere, price, and air conditioning, I think this restaurant could turn a corner but it is a very tough location that will take a great deal of marketing to the local neighborhoods. read more

I have had Nepalese food many times in Nepal. I found the cuisine here to be authentic and very tasty. It was carefully prepared with all the needed ingredients. The staff was sweet and caring, offering advice on my vegan requirements which were filled beautifully! The spotlessly clean restaurant is colorfully decorated with mufti-colored Buddhist flags giving a happy and vibrant feeling. I had a most pleasant experience and will return soon and often. This location has been a sinkhole for restaurants for the past decade. We went as soon as they opened this spring and we have been delighted. Sadly, we have eaten there four times in the past three months and rarely seen more than one other table occupied. This is a shame because the food is wonderful! Last night I had the lamb Tikka Marsala, spicy=7, with garlic naan, and it was heavenly. Others in our foursome had excellent dishes with portions sufficient to take some home for lunch. The service is fine, the air conditioning has been fixed. Cary and the Triangle have an abundance of good Indian and Himalayan restaurants, and yet the quality of Everest Nepali Kitchen makes it a welcome addition. I hope it can survive. read more
