Needed a quick bite on a Thursday evening. I was able to order online and pick up my food in about 10 minutes. The workers were nice when I arrived. The prices were average. I got the paneer tikka and really liked! It has onions with it and I enjoyed it. It was a lot of food. I could've gotten two meals for ~$16. Wish there was a little more rice and the flavors were a little more rich but that's okay. Very filling!

Open on Thanksgiving*, and cooking up a storm! For a smallish strip mall joint offering only takeout these days, this place has a diverse menu, and I tried to get a sense of the variety by trying a chole bhature (fried bread with chickpea curry) as well as a veg manchurian (cabbage balls in an Indo-Chinese sauce), and some sort of stewed okra I hadn't had before. I asked for all to be spicy, and they were. The chickpeas and bread was, for once, the right amount of chickpeas to use up one piece of bread. The range of vegetarian options and the ease of takeout (10% off coupon if you check the website as well) were a winner for me. *I certainly don't begrudge anyone who wants to take Thanksgiving off, but for those of us who are out on the day for any number of reasons, the few businesses that remain open are greatly appreciated. If Chinese food on Christmas is a tradition, let Indian food on Thanksgiving become one as well. It's what I cook when I have time.

Stopped in this place last Saturday for lunch and found out quickly that they only do buffets at lunchtime day in and day out. As a very keen Dharani fan from the original restaurant in Morrisville, I was happy to finally make it here, even though it was lunchtime and a buffet. I always think of buffets as a blessing and a curse! Personally, if you want to eat a lot of food that's great, and the food is great, the downside for me is I tend to eat more than usual, and mix too many different flavors together and perhaps don't enjoy the individual flavors of each dish. Does that make sense? This place has a very complete evening dinner menu, as I tried to show below. Which probably represents what it was when it was at the original Morrisville location. The food is excellent, the service at lunch was good, no alcohol served as far as I noticed, but the evening atmosphere I expect would be more white tablecloth, even if it isn't. The menu speaks for itself. It's definitely a place to check out, not just for the food but if you're ready for a buffet! I'm betting the ambiance is totally different in the evening.

Absolutely my favorite Indian food in the Triangle! I discovered Dharani Express last year and it's my go to restaurant when curry cravings hit. The food is so flavorful, spicy, and you'll come across whole spices while enjoying your dish. The restaurant isn't fancy but service is great and the food will have you coming back for more. My friend and I shared palak paneer, lamb vindaloo & Chicken Tikka Masala and we each had enough leftovers for another meal. Don't hesitate to check it out!

This is another little spot that I like to go for lunch. Service is always great, the guys are really friendly. Each time I visit, Dharani has customers buzzing around the the fully stocked buffet filled with well-prepared, spicy, mouthwatering vegetarian and meat dishes. Of course, my meal isn't complete without a serving of Carrot Halwa for dessert.

"Nepalese and Indian food in downtown Raleigh, near Marriott"…read more With a great location, this is VERY close to the Raleigh Convention Center. We arrived on a Thursday night at 6pm with a group of 5. The dining area didn't really accommodate a group that size, but they made it work by moving tables around, which was nice. The place was not very large, but there was maybe only one other family eating inside. The bathroom was clean. I split two dishes with my son-- salmon tikka masala and shrimp (prawn) saag, both coming with rice. We were given some papadum, I think, as a snack as we waited on the food, along with some spicy dips. Food came in maybe 10 minutes or so, which was great timing. However, I have to say, both dishes we tried were underwhelming. The shrimp was oddly translucent and not very flavorful in its dish, and the spinach in the saag wasn't especially tasty (though it did have a nice spiciness). The tikka masala sauce was great, but the salmon also was pretty underwhelming. We both said we'd probably just get chicken next time and not splurge the extra for the salmon. No dish was "bad", but just we expected them to be delicious and they were just OK. I'm just really surprised given how many people said this was the "best Indian" they'd had. The staff were friendly-- refilled drinks well and were good at answering questions. And the price was reasonable. Altogether, I'll give it 4 stars given the great location, good service, good price, but not 5 given the food was "just OK". Realistically, I probably wouldn't go back-- we have lots of great Indian in Durham and Chapel Hill, so I'd rather wait and get that.

We were given a complimentary drink shot you put in a pastry and drink. It was a little spicy with other interesting but good flavors. We got Samosas and Chili Chicken to start. Both were excellent. The garlic cheese naan was super and cheeay. The chicken had good spice and the Samosas were fresh with mint and Tamarind chutney. We got Chicken Vindaloo extra spicey and the lamb Biryani. Both were spicy with great flavor and my Biryani had fabulous aromas. Everything was delicious and the service fantastic. Great experience.

The food is excellent Indian food - the owner used to own Tower Indian Restaurant in Morrisville and took over this spot. Surprisingly Raleigh Convention Center is a bit underserved when it comes to good restaurants and we were glad to find it. On weekdays they have a lunch meal option with two vegetables, Naan and rice for about $10 and you can make the vegetables unlimited for additional $2 - which we didn't need since the portions were pretty good. They also have similar chicken option for a little bit more price. We enjoyed our meal and I am sure we will be here again.

Butter chicken had more sauce than chicken and the Biryani was very dry with no flavor in the abundance of rice with over spiced pieces of chicken. Veggie samosas were good but were brought out with our meal instead of as an appetizer. I ordered a nice late-night meal on DoorDash and called to verify some details about the spice level of the food. The man was extremely polite and helpful. My driver picked up my order and then cancelled it. I called the owner of the restaurant to let them know that I would place an order tomorrow since my order was cancelled after being picked up. Instead, the man offered to remake and deliver my food. He took down my address and made sure to get this to me despite my order being placed at 11pm. The driver called to let me know he was on the way and he was so kind when delivering my food. The customer service was so beyond my expectations- which is an extremely important component of a business. They are under new management and I am just so impressed. I wish this restaurant much success going forward. Food: I ordered a large white rice, a medium spicy curry chicken, and garlic naan bread. Two words: FIVE. STARS. The food is as beautiful and delicious as the photos. There is something about Indian Food from a good local restaurant. You can just taste the love and time that went into this food. The garlic naan was fresh, pretty, and delicious! The curry chicken was perfectly seasoned and so was the rice. I've been craving Indian food for a week and it definitely hit the spot! They are clearly passionate about their food AND service; the best of both worlds. If you're looking for a new Indian joint to try- these are your people. I will be ordering food again from here very soon. This is my new spot. Thank you for the wonderful experience My ONLY request is can there please be cheese kulcha/ cheese naan added on the menu? That would be lovely.

I didn't realize when I first searched nearby and found this location, but it has multiple cuisine spot. I remember thinking as I was driving over that 'man I wish she liked Indian food' because I hadn't had any in some time. Much to my delight when we got here, I discovered not only were their Thai and Chinese inspired stuff, there was a nice large selection of Indian options. She got some chicken lo main, and I got palak paneer. She got some spring rolls, and I got my favorite Samosas. I introduced her to the papadum and chutneys that were given before the meal and she was a trooper and tried them all. Food arrived, was hot, fresh, and delicious. With the samosas it was too much for me to finish my palak paneer and I'm eating it now as I type this up for lunch on Sunday. Lo mein was well liked, she doesn't have a spice tolerance though and a 3 was a bit much for her. she said the spring rolls were great, and had finished off the lomein she brought home by Saturday night. Really great place you should check it out, they do delivery and stuff, but it was great to go in somewhere in person and enjoy a meal. Not a giant seating area but plenty of room to come in sit down and enjoy stuff.
