    Full Yak Momo
    Brooke I.

First time here and was super excited to try Nepalese food, so didn't get many pictures (whoops). We had a table of 6 and ordered family style to share between all of us. Orders: Yak momo (12): DELICIOUS. Would 100% ordering this for anyone coming here. They were delicious. Cheese pakora: yummy deep fried cheese with a nice sauce - how could you go wrong? Naan: we ordered the garlic naan and butter naan. The butter naan was the best! Chicken thukpa: amazing soup with noodles. I wish we had ordered 2 of these. One was not enough. Chicken tikka masala: not bad, but not my favorite. I wouldn't order again because I liked everything else a lot better. Kabuli Chana: also v good! Came with rice. Though I still liked the soup and sides wayyy better. Overall, the service was great and it was a nice place to hang out and eat with friends. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu!

Lovely! We dined in for Valentine's Day 2025 dinner with a reservation made online and when we arrived, all the tables had red tablecloths and red roses which we did not expect. So cute! We were greeted the moment we walked into the space and sat down next to a big window allowing us an opportunity to check out the action on Grand Ave. Our server was respectful and made frequent check-in's to our table. We got varying versions of masala, naan and samosa for our appetizer. Everything had great spice and was served perfectly warm. One of my goals is to eat more Indian food and therefore, I know I will be back. Thank you, Everest!!

I went to Everest on grand with a friend and I was hoping it'd be better. We got a chicken tikka masala and chicken curry with a chai tea and mango lassi. The tikka masala was creamier then I am used to and the chicken curry was okay. The chai tea and mango lassi were good but I wasn't a fan of the chicken entrees we got. The meal was more expensive than we were expecting so we were a little disappointed with the outcome. There is a small parking lot behind the restaurant and street parking nearby.

My friend Tim asked me if we could meet for lunch. A belated birthday. It's where we used to meet every so often when we worked together five and more years ago. We went simple and ordered just two dishes. One was a five star for sure and the other was definitely quite good.

The food being the most important part of the experience, the flavors and execution were there. The curries were tasty and the lamb was cooked perfect. Also got the combo momo - personally didn't care for the sauce it came with but the momos themselves were real good. The naan and rice were fine. Costs were fairly pricey, though prices are up everywhere. Service was fine. The interior is a bit tired appearing and bathroom was not well kept up - so my initial impressions were not good - but the curries and momos were good. Solid option for the area, but if I am specifically seeking out Himalayan/Nepalese food, I'd like to try some of the other places in the Cities as well.

Veg samosa ($6). Vegan by default and pretty good.

Everest on Grand is still a good place (3 stars is not a bad review in my book), but the Twin Cities is blessed with numerous Nepalese/Tibetan/Himalayan spots and I don't think it's the best around. (Gorkha Palace in Northeast Minneapolis is the reigning champ). The restaurant labels all its vegan items which is helpful. I got the veg samosa ($6 for two) and did think these were great and savory. The veg momo ($8) was also excellent with a wonderful, spicy dipping sauce. The potato achaar ($5) is a cold potato appetizer that tasted pretty good, albeit slightly vinegar-y. The okra ($14) is vegan by default and pretty good, though the katahar (jackfruit) ($14) curry didn't wow me. Similarly, the veg thukpa ($14.25) failed to impress, being bland and too thick. The roti ($3.45) was too thick and not made well at all. If you're looking for better Nepalese food in the Twin Cities, Gorkha Palace is my go-to, though Himalayan Cafe on Lake Street is also respectable. Namaste Cafe is hipster-cool with unusual offerings, but pricey. Everest on Grand is the best in St. Paul, but not the best in the area.

Tofu in rich tomato sauce and Roti bread . All vegan!

Our order was ready on time and packaged well. Even though we were just picking up, the staff were attentive and helpful, which I really appreciated. The space itself is also very nice. Clean, well kept, and has a welcoming atmosphere. We started with the veggie samosas and mixed pakoras, and both were amazing. Perfectly cooked with great flavor and really good sauces. For mains, we had the Chicken Makhani (butter chicken) and the Chicken Malabar, and both were so good. Super rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The portions were also very generous. The garlic naan was a standout. Fresh, soft, and perfect for dipping into the sauces. Overall, everything we ordered was delicious and really hit the spot. Great flavors, great portions, and a really easy takeout experience. Definitely a place I would return to for dine in or takeout.

I had actually ordered takeout but I wanted to sit there and eat; they directed me to a table and a server tended to me very congenially even though I already had my food. There is a bar here that was playing a game I wanted to watch, and it was indeed nice to sit and linger. My food was pretty good. For my entree I got the Chicken Makhani, which is basically butter chicken but I requested the medium spice level which I think really improved the flavor. Based on this, I would say that their five-level spiciness range is accurate. The portion size was ample and most, but not quite all of the chicken was nicely cooked and of good quality. I also got a side of Cheese Pakora, which came with two sauces that were both good but I wouldn't have liked that cheese thing without a sauce. Prices are very good considering what you get. They have some outdoor seating in addition to the large, clean dining room. Based on all of that I will definitely be back.

My…read moreactual rating would be 4.5 out of 5, but I couldn't justify taking away a full star, so I'm rounding up to five since Yelp still doesn't allow half stars. I'm not sure how we didn't find out about this place until almost a year after it opened. Apparently, they've been around since July 2025. The interior of the restaurant looks clean and nice. I already want to go back to dine-in sometime and I'm interested in their weekend buffet. We ordered takeout on a Tuesday for dinner and chose Medium spice for everything. I got the Butter Chicken, and I think it was the best Butter Chicken I've ever had. For the price, I was hoping the portion would be just slightly larger, but taste-wise, it was absolutely amazing. We also ordered the Wet Chicken 65 and really enjoyed that as well. The portion size was pretty decent for this. I would order it again, but I'm also very interested in trying the Chicken 555 next time. My wife got the Szechuan Noodles with Chicken and liked them. I tried some and liked them too. The noodles come in a great sized portion. My Butter Chicken came with rice, but I had to order Garlic Naan separately for an extra $4.50. The Garlic Naan was fantastic, but I was disappointed by how little came with the order for almost $5. Next time, I would be tempted to order two, but then the price starts increasing pretty dramatically. Basically, if you're ordering more than one curry style dish, you'll probably need multiple orders of Garlic Naan unless you're fine eating everything with rice or on its own. During the week, it seems like the restaurant doesn't open until 5 pm. I get it... it's probably slow between lunch hour and 5pm. But it was a little frustrating because we like to pick up takeout shortly after work. When I tried placing the order around 4:45, the earliest available pickup time wasn't until 5:30pm. I really wish they allowed customers to schedule online orders for pickup at 5pm or even 5:15. They do not charge a service fee, which is a big deal for restaurants in 2026. There was no credit card fee either. That also contributed to why I rounded the rating up to five stars. Overall, I would definitely recommend trying this place. It will likely become our new regular Indian unless we want to eat earlier and don't want to wait until 5:30. I wish the Garlic Naan portion was larger, and that the Butter Chicken came with a little more food for the price, but the food is still fantastic.
