Froyo
Anthony M.

Assembled my own froyo (Euro Tart, Strawberries, and Mochi). It was good. Ok. Thank you.

Euro Tart

After dinner, I had to get some yogurt and stopped here. Never had it but D'Licous! Very clean and friendly service. This is a lady who works for herself so please go support her. She is so sweet and friendly which makes me want to come back. Although I am not a topper person, she has a great variety of toppings. This yogurt is was well worth the stop and well worth coming back to. My choices tonight were Euro Tart and Dutch Chocolate. So yummy!

*****Frozen Yogurt and Ice Cream!***** The Yelp App did it again! We were in search of frozen yogurt and ice cream and Yelpers love this place! We stopped by and chose yogurt and a 50/50 mix of slush with Gunthers vanilla ice cream. THE 50/50 Gunther Freeze is amazing. It's sweet, refreshing, delicious, and creamy. Easily 5 Stars! Customer Service is also 5 Stars. The lady who helped us is super nice, and her 4 year old helper is the cutest! Parking is super easy. The shop is located in a small shopping plaza with ample parking. The shop has indoor seating and is super clean. If you like toppings, this is the place for you. They have about 60 toppings, including the syrups and chocolate. The 8 year old also liked her yogurt, and was nice to share it with me:) my 8 year old gives it two thumbs up! We are fans and then some!

Lots of options and they have Gunther's! The service was super friendly and patient. The ambiance is clean and friendly. Took my kids here after their practices and they loved it. Eat here!

Super delicious froyo! Genuinely one of the best froyo places I've ever been to. The toppings were unmatched, they had a bunch of fresh fruit, chocolate shell, and raspberry and other fruit sauces which were super good! Overall, great experience and the service was friendly :).

This is our go-to for Gunther's Freeze whenever I'm visiting the in-laws. Friendly and local spot with lots of cold dessert options when the weather is ultra hot. They have fro-yo and ice cream as well. We ordered 7 large cups of orange, lemon, and raspberry for takeout. The cups were overflowing and the freezes were nicely frozen and tasty as usual. The only drawback is there is only one employee so it can sometimes be a short wait. I'll be back!

Summer in a cup!

Came here today after shopping at CosmoProf. My daughter & I walked by & saw two ladies sitting (it was empty), & they waved as us. We decided to check it out, especially since it was hot outside. When we walked in we were greeted by the two ladies. Come to find out, they had just opened for 21 days already. My daughter & I shared a froyo (she's only 2), we got half regular tart & kiwi strawberry. O.M.G the kiwi strawberry froyo was sooooo good! It was like summer in a cup! Not too sweet, not too tart. It was light, refreshing & perfect for the hot weather. My daughter loved it as well! Toppings were plenty & I love how clean this place was. Overall, I would totally recommend this place! The ladies were super sweet & the froyo was delicious!

They have non dairy options and the most toppings I've ever seen. The employee was really friendly and attentive.

The moment you walk in, the retro 1950s diner ambience immediately transports you back to classic Americana dessert culture. They've apparently been serving Sacramento for over 37 years! - Hot Fudge Sundae -- made with Gunther's vanilla & chocolate ice cream, topped with whipped cream, pralines, and a candied cherry; beautifully presented with warm hot fudge drizzled all over - Lemon Raspberry Cake -- moist sponge cake layered with lemon, raspberry, and whipped cream; balanced sweetness with buttercream-coated sides The red booth seating and vintage Americana decor really complete the nostalgic vibe. Service was friendly and quick, and the overall ambience was cozy, retro, and diner-themed. Rick's Dessert Diner definitely feels one-of-a-kind, I'll have to stop by again next time I'm passing through Sacramento.

Rick's was the only place open late that had actual desserts. I mainly ate their cakes. They looked amazing. But I really did not enjoy them. Too dry. Just not good, compared to other bakeries in town. Over the years, Rick's remained a Sacramento staple, and when they opened up their new location in Midtown, the dessert community welcomed them back and embraced their sweet offerings, bigger space, and late night hours. I never went til just a couple weeks ago. Around 9pm on a Friday night I was craving banana cream pie and the husband wanted cherry pie. On Yelp search, Rick's came up as the top choice that was open. So we went and stood in the long line. The place was crowded and loud. Lively and busy vibe. Line moved at a good pace and the staff helping were nice but hurried. So we took our lil pies to go. We both liked our chosen pies. Now I know what to order if I go back to Rick's. Pies over cakes. Every time.

But my friend convinced me to give it a try at The Parlor Ice Cream ad Puffs and WOW O WOW!! I ended up getting an unglazed donut with coffee ice cream made and it was incredible. They have a great selection of Gunther's ice cream so you really can't go wrong with a flavor. The warm donut paired perfectly with the cold, creamy ice cream, and the coffee flavor worked so well with it all together. Definitely something I'll save for an occasional treat, but it's also something I have already been thinking about often now. The staff was also super sweet and welcoming. I'll definitely be back!

Like most other ice cream places, you can choose your flavors and toppings and eat it in a cup or cone. Customer service was great. The person serving us was really friendly and was great with my niece and nephew. The owner rung us up and was really friendly as well. I did not eat the ice cream, but the service and the way they looked makes me think it is decent ice cream. Great place overall and I may come back to try this if I go to Me's kitchen again.

My eye was first drawn to the churro, I haven't been able to have one in years, I was so excited. It was everything I ever wanted in a churro. Crispy outside, fluffy inside, and coated with cinnamon sugar. I could have polished off a dozen of them! The apple fritter was also on my must try list. I grew up loving apple fritters and since having to go GF, it is my most missed donut-adjacent treat. This one was smaller than a normal one, but that was fine because I could actually enjoy it without it being too big. Perfectly fluffy with apple pieces and spiced just right, it was delicious. The cruellers were nice and crispy on the outside and just sweet enough. Glazed with chocolate or regular icing, they are a perfect donut. I have recommended this spot to others that are GF, they need to experience the joy of a prefect GF donut!

Both tasted very good but slightly different without dairy. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the flavor and textures. My friend ended up with the white chocolate macadamia nut cookie which was also great. I love a crunch or different texture mixed in. She did mention that the Rocky Road tasted a bit off because of the lack of dairy and the texture was a bit unusual. The staff were polite and patient and the place didn't seem that crowded for a Thursday around dinner time. I suppose with Ginger Elizabeth's and Rick's Dessert Diner all on the same strip, there is a lot of competition for dessert places here. We were happy to try something new. Everything was fairly clean and there was plenty of bar seating as well as a few tables. I believe there were also tables outside.

Parking is a little bit hard to find, since you're mostly looking for street parking. Upon entering, the FroYo place had a nice interior that reminded me of a modern casual design with some contemporary elements that created a playful atmosphere. There were some high chair seatings to the right, and some lounge chairs to the left Unfortunately, by the time I came in, they were not allowing us to sample any of the 6 flavors which was a bummer (New York cheesecake, cappuccino, cable car chocolate, vanilla, pomegranate raspberry or euro tart). The flavors are pretty limited, so if you're looking for a place with a wider assortment of flavors, I might recommend somewhere else. However, the toppings bar was nicely stocked with a bunch of different things to choose from, which was one of its saving graces. Once you're done, you weigh your FroYo at the counter. I would've given a solid 4 stars to this place; however, while we were eating the FroYo, the man who was working decided to go into the back of his shop and listen to his shows rather loudly. I could hear the sounds from the shows over the music they were playing, so it made the ambiance a little awkward since I wasn't able to vibe to the music. Thus, creating a rather rambunctious atmosphere. Overall, I do think this place has some room for improvements, especially with their flavor profiles.
