Really great selection of succulents, the best I've found in Fresno. I got some beautiful sempervivum, aloe, and opalina. They were also fairly priced, I think it was $2.99 for 2 inch and 4.99 for 4 inch. We also got these beautiful heart terra cotta pots for $14. read more

Love this place!! I am a regular customer and recently had a rubber plant not take moving to a new location very well and didn't make it. They were so kind and helpful and replaced my plant since it had only been a few months since I got it. i'm usually very good at taking care of my plants this one just didn't like being moved from the nursery! I visited this nursery for the first time on Saturday and I was blown away. The plants are all healthy and beautiful, the variety is outstanding, the employees are warm and welcoming, and everything is so charming. If you're visiting for the first time, make sure you give yourself a couple of hours minimum because there's a lot to look at. I bought a few things in the short amount of time I had, but I could have easily spent hundreds of dollars if I'd had more time. I saw at least 20 succulents alone that I wanted to bring home, several houseplants, and some yard art I suddenly felt like I couldn't live without. I spent close to $3,000 here because of their plant variety since March. I'm happy with plant choices but BETTER HOLD ON TO YOUR DEAR RECEIPT. I recently bought three dynamite red crepe myrtle for $39.95 each. As typical of me I allow my plants to first familiarize them selves where I'll plant them. After two weeks, the plants are wilting despite twice daily watering and bark on top of the pots. I relocated them to part shade but they're still wilting. I wanted them replaced. They will not take them without receipt. I said, "But they're still in your original pots. Greedy people. They won't replace them. Never to buy from them again. read more

Male employees are helpful and always willing to help when you ask about a particular plant. The owner's personality is and responses are short and rude. Today my partner and I expressed interest in purchasing a makeshift plant hanger that is inside the store. My partner asked if the next time they make one, if she could purchase. We are regular customers here and have been loyal prior to the pandemic. The owner responded very dry and quick, "sure." He did not express any interest in her request. I also expressed interest in purchasing another plant and asked when they would anticipate the next shipment. The owner's tone and body language also suggested he did not care to give a warm-hearted and genuine interest in helping us. He replied, "It's just when we get them." I was not pleased with his attitude especially because we come often. If you're coming in ask an employee for help they are more personable and interested in helping than the owner. read more

Smaller nursery with a good selection of all types of plants and trees. The prices are on the higher side for the trees and bushes, but all the plants looked very healthy. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. I wish they had a larger variety of vegetables to choose from and the parking lot is very small and hard to navigate. I really like this place. It kind of feels like a hole in the wall nursery because you're driving through residential and then BAM! you're there. Enter on the west side of the place, as the east side is the exit (at least it was when we went). It's small but it gets the job done. We have picked up several strawberry plants, some pepper plants, and various herbs and other things. We have not been disappointed in the quality of the plants or the staff. The staff is very kind and knowledgeable. You can call them any time of year and ask them gardening questions. (I just called and asked about growing cherries in zone 9!) We pretty much consider this our home nursery. Any time we need an established plant, we come here! read more

The owners are really friendly and love to educate customers about plants and trees if you don't know what you want except that you want something in your garden. If you do know what you're looking for, they delight in showing you different specimens and discussing the pros and cons of each. I went there once and casually mentioned that I was looking for a vine for an eastern wall that only received about two hours of sunlight a day. The guy jogged off and returned a few minutes later with four or five different vines and told me all about each on. This one was a great climber. That one produced cute little pink flowers in the summer. All of them, he assured me, would work in the location I had in mind. A few years back I bought a plant there that died within a couple of weeks of planting it. I don't know if the plant was faulty, or I put it in a bad location (probably), or it just wasn't meant to live. Anyway, I commented on this on a subsequent visit, and they refunded my money! Also, their displays are amazing. Every time I go there I wish that I had a five-acre property so I could have a Japanese water garden like theirs, a gazebo smothered in flowering wisteria like theirs, a huge and gorgeous rose garden like theirs... Cynophobes beware, though. As soon as you step out of your car you will be greeted by two slobbering St. Barnard's who will very gently but insistently demand ear and tummy rubs. They will butt you with their massive heads and swipe you with their 18-inch tails until they get the attention they feel they deserve. If you do give them the slightest attention they will follow you around demanding more until they spy a customer who looks like a better attention prospect. When that happens I always feel like a jilted lover ("Hey, wasn't I good enough for you or what?"). read more

Well I won't be going back in the immediate future. Blatant disregard for masks that protect public safety. I made the mistake of taking my 3 year old there this morning (outfitted in her mask) only to encounter employees and other customers with out any adherence to guidelines or social distancing. The plants were great, don't get me wrong, but my positive shopping experience was dashed pretty quick upon leaving my vehicle. Basically they've lost a customer in me until they take our current situation a little more seriously and create a positive shopping experience for everyone, not just those that don't have any consideration for the health and welfare of others. Unbelievably terrible customer experience. Cashier told me my plants were ugly. Another worker was very short when I asked if they had a certain plant. And none of them had masks. I couldn't believe how out of touch with public safety they seemed. Very rude and poor customer interactions several times I've been in this place asking questions. Some of the younger and hard working employees have been pleasant but the owners who manage this nursery are typically rude and unhelpful. I've already spent tons of money at this nursery as it's conveniently close to my home. But after this last interaction with one of their older employees (possibly the owner) I won't be back. Sad how you can lose business that fast strictly based upon unpleasant customer interaction and poor customer care. read more

My favorite nursery! I am an indoor plant fanatic and I've been purchasing all my house plants from here. The owner is very helpful and knowledgeable. He will also give a heads up when a plant I'm looking for is arriving. This place is in a nice area with a parking lot and side parking. Huge variety of indoor and outdoor plants. They have cats that walk around the property and they don't bother anyone, very friendly. I've been to many nursery's around the valley and this is still number one on my list. read more

Instead of buying from Lowes I drove a extra 5 miles to support small businesses. While their selection is great , pots and plants are plentiful , they are so rude ! From the people working at the cashier , to people in the nursery . 3 different employee exchanges , all three rude :-( this is a time to be grateful for customers if any ! Evergreen Garden Center is the kind of place I would go every weekend if I could afford it. I love everything about it. I've been here about half a dozen times in the last year and they have increased the amount and type of succulents they carry by about 30% since my first visit. Yes, I'm a succulent fanatic. Approaching hoarder status. So what? It makes me happy. Okay, moving on... I love taking my time and perusing the selection here. I was so thrilled when I spotted a portulaca molokiniensis here, I think my heart actually skipped a beat. I had just about convinced myself that I would need to buy one online and pay for shipping, so you can imagine how happy I was! They layout and feel of the place is tasteful, relaxing and beautiful. I've bought a few of their specialty begonia plants here... they are gorgeous and exotic. The challenge I ran into with the begonias was not buying ALL of them! I took only two home and they both died... I don't have experience with begonias and blame my lack of knowledge. I would buy one again in a heartbeat; these specimens are breathtaking. This place has a good selection of indoor plants, too. We've driven down to Half Moon Bay several times to grab plants but they struggle through the Fresno weather. I love that Evergreen Garden Center offers plants that do well in this climate and they're not hours and hours away. The people who work here are friendly and knowledgeable and seem to love what they do. I would give this place 5 stars except for the price of their pots and other gardening accessories. I do feel it's a bit pricey. Thankfully, their plants are very fairly priced and I don't hesitate whenever I see one that I absolutely must have. I love this place. Like, for real. read more

They have a good variety of fruit trees (riverside nursery in west Fresno seemed to have a bit more but the people weren't as nice and the ones here seemed better taken care of). We went up to the front desk and got all the answers we needed....for everything. How to plant, what we needed to plant and how to care for it. Spent $90 on a tree and soil to plant it and got $500 worth of advice on how to make it grow. Can't say enough about all the employees out there.
