    spicy pork bulgogi takeout
    Pat L.

This is an excellent small no frill Korean restaurant. I dined in solo once having beef bulgogi that was very good with the decent selection of traditional appetizers. Another time I ordered take out of spicy pork, same quality, appreciate that they packed all the regular appetizers. Service is fine, I saw Korean customers which is always a good sign. I look forward to more visits.

Reviewing again with photos. This business deserves boosting. Their banchan is the best. All the food is yummy.

Another delightful meal at Evergreen! We had just gotten happy hour and bites elsewhere but we needed something substantial and satisfying! We got to try the Naengmyeon for the first time and it was so so good! Light, flavorful, incredible flavor and very well balanced. Quick and efficient service, great prices, and seated immediately!

Date: April 12, 2025 We just finished taking Easter bunny photos when hubs was craving a bulgogi bowl. Yelped around and found this spot fairly close by. Located in a big plaza with a Korean market lays evergreen tucked into the back corner. The restaurant is very small with some tables outside. It seemed like only one ajumma was working as she was doing it all. We ordered a mackerel, and two cold noodle combos - one with galbi and one with bulgogi. Ajumma was so sweet and really loved seeing our kids. Brought us tongs and scissors to make sure we cut the food for the kids and always checked to make sure we were doing okay. All the food was average, imo, however the homey feel to it, gave it a 10/10 taste. It just felt like your Korean grandmother was cooking the meal for you. Tab was higher than expected, ringing out to 85$ for those three. But it was a great first experience. Thank you!

Good food and friendly service. I ordered the tofu stew and galbi combo, it's a bit pricey for lunch but will taste good. It's worth going back.

I will have to admit, the food here is fairly decent. The galbi was soft and had a good flavor. The reason why I'm not giving this a higher rating would be because the owner expects certain tip. For 2 lunch combo, it came out to be about $60. I tipped them $7 on the top of my head (I usually do the calculations on my phone, but today I just estimated). The owner called us back and said "that's all?" I have never had anyone stop me and make me tip them more. So, if you want decent Korean food and deal with an owner that is rude and expects you to tip to their likings, feel free to come here. Would not return again because the attitude from the owner was not worth decent Korean food. Galbi-3/5

Great scorched rice on the bottom! Delicious food. Not too much meat on the bibimbap though only complaint

Delicious food! Not too much meat on the bibimbap though. Service was wonderful and the lady was sweet. They give everything hot and fresh.

First similarity, there isn't a parking lot and street parking is competitive. Food quality matches any average Korean spot; sort of like what you would get at a food court in Koreatown. It is pricey for Korean food, so go for their combo deals. That'll make the cost per food worth it. The store is very modern and feels a little industrial. You go in, sit down and order off a screen. The food comes out when it's ready. There's very little interaction with other people unless you plan a group lunch. It reminds me of some Japanese restaurants that service those not interested in to talking to people while they eat. They just want a quick service, eat some food and leave. If this was a place in Koreatown, I'd probably give it a 3 star, but considering that it's in the valley, I'm upping it to 4. There just aren't enough places in the valley that serve food of this quality. I'm calling this average Korean food, but it beats other Korean restaurants in the valley by a mile. I'm talking about those places that service food you can get from Costco (Bibigo and the like) or Trader Joe's. The valley needs to more places that serve actual Korean food.

All the workers were attentive and nicer Meat was also good quality. The only downside was how salty everything was. The side dishes were salty and the soups were ordered were also salty. The soybean soup was salty to the point we had to ask them to take it back. There was radish soup...which tasted exactly like radish in water...that wasn't salty so we had to mix the leek soup with the radish soup to make it less salty but overall...everything was salty. It's a kbbq place so as long as the meat is good I think we're good. Just be warned that aside from the meat, the food can be a bit salty.

My coworkers ordered the Chicken Gangjeong in both the Soy Garlic and Sweet & Spicy flavors. I only had a bite of each, but both were juicy and seemed to be made with dark meat chicken. The Soy Garlic was actually sweeter than the Sweet & Spicy, which caught me off guard, while the Sweet & Spicy had more of a mild heat than an overwhelming kick. I ordered the Grandma Tteokbokki at spice level 2 and added melted cheese and ramen. Those add-ons were absolutely worth it. The cheese made the sauce extra creamy, while the ramen soaked up all of the flavor and turned it into a hearty, comforting meal. Spice level 2 had a nice kick without overpowering the dish, making it easy to enjoy from start to finish. Overall, everything we tried was satisfying, and I'd happily come back to work my way through more of the menu. Absolutely Outstanding -- Ask for Sam & Xavier!…read more We brought a party of 27 to GEN Korean BBQ on a busy Friday night, and the experience was exceptional. A group that large could easily become chaotic, but Manager Sam Peñalosa and our server Xavier went above and beyond to make the entire evening smooth, fun, and memorable. Sam deserves serious recognition. You could see her leadership throughout the night. She was present, attentive, checking on our group, supporting his team, and making sure 27 people were taken care of. That kind of hands-on leadership creates the atmosphere customers feel..and her company should be proud to have her representing GEN. And Xavier was a rockstar! Twenty-seven guests means nonstop orders, questions, refills, requests, and moving parts. He handled everything with patience, energy, professionalism, and a great attitude. Never made us feel rushed or like our large group was too much. Instead, he made us feel genuinely welcomed. The food was great, but Sam and Xavier are the reason we'll be coming back. Service like this turns a dinner into an experience and customers into repeat customers. If you're coming to GEN, ask for Sam and Xavier. We certainly will when we return. To GEN leadership: take care of these guys. They're doing your brand proud. Thank you, Sam and Xavier, for taking such great care of all 27 of us. You earned some loyal customers!

We sat down and waited at least 10 minutes just to be acknowledged, with no apology for the wait. We placed our order for two waters and one Coke. Our server came back with one water and two Cokes, and when we pointed out the extra Coke, she told us we could just keep it. Cool. We then waited another 10-15 minutes for the second water. We also weren't given scissors when we were initially seated, so I asked for a pair so we could cut up our meats and actually start eating. I also asked for a fork for my sister. She came back with the scissors and a spoon because they were "washing the forks right now." Needless to say, we never got the fork. On top of all of that, the vents at our table weren't working properly, so instead of the smoke being pulled away from the grill, I was basically inhaling it throughout the meal. Anyone who's been to KBBQ knows how much smoke comes off the grill, so having ventilation that actually works is pretty important. It made an already frustrating experience even more uncomfortable. Throughout the meal, the service continued to be extremely inattentive. It felt like we constantly had to wait or ask for basic things that should have already been provided. Then when we got the bill, we were charged for both Cokes. It's not about the extra $3, it's the principle. We ordered ONE Coke. The second one was brought to us by mistake, and our server specifically told us we could keep it. If we had been told we were going to be charged for it, we obviously would have sent it back. Charging us afterward for something we never ordered and were told to keep just left a really bad taste in my mouth. Between waiting to even be acknowledged, waiting for water, never receiving the utensils we asked for, sitting at a table with vents that weren't working, and then being charged for the server's mistake, the entire experience was disappointing. I've given this place multiple chances despite having poor experiences here before, but after today, I really don't see myself coming back.
