Gens been a hit and miss forever, but today, today changes everything!! Dynamic super duo Manny and Noah were amazing and we were extremely satisfied! My family and i were literally in and out in less than 1 hour! They were so fast and friendly and got everything right on the first go! Food was great, hit the spot! Ambiance was great and so lax, Tuesdays are my new favorite days to come! No rush, no lines and just chill vibes

Update: We waited like 10minutes or could be more in the front because the front host was not there when we came in and this was at close to 12 noon I think. There was also couple ahead of us which they said that they've been waiting as well for someone to greet, assist and seat them to their table but no one came. After us a another group of family came in More people came in but still there's no front host and she's been MIA & when I looked around she was sitting in one of the empty tables by the window - wearing white longs sleever and black pants. Finally, 2 guy servers actually noticed that customers have been waiting for a while and no one was helping all of us in the front. I even overheard them asking each other and lookinb looking for the front host and one of them answered "she should be here but I have no idea why she's nit in the front". I think the management should retraine that specific host that's was on duty today around 12noon onwards, I mean she's in charge in the front so if she's on break she should communicate it with the back team to so that someone can keep an eye for new customers that are coming in the restaurant . Luckily those 2 guy servers were really nice and they seated all of us that's been waiting in the front for a while. Also, FYI on their weekday lunch pricing, I tried calling them prior to our visit and their recording says the price for M-Th - from opening to 3pm is $20.95 BUT THAT IS INCORRECT, the correct pricing is $21.95. Our server was nice and attentive and food was great 8/10 and changed our grill 3 times. The inky issue was that our meat took so long to come out which I think it is the kitchen staff's job to prepare not the servers. My tofu soup came out when I was almost full and dine - the server was actually apologetic and I dont blame him, I was told that the reason for the delay was because, the kitchen received many "to go or pick up orders" that the kitchen staff didn't have any space on the stove to cook my soup. We were also seated close to the kitchen towards the hallway to the restroom and WOW the kitchen staff's music was SO LOUD! Like I am so confused if I should be listening to the mariachi music that's coming from the kitchen or the english music that's from the dining area's speakers.... Like wow they should turn down that volume!! 1 star for the missing front host that's supposed to seat and greet the customers in a timely and professional manner and the delay on delivering the meat to the table and the very LOUD music.

We arrived at 11am on a Saturday. There was no line, but they did seem a little short staffed so we probably ended up waiting about 5 minutes to be greeted before sitting down. I'm not sure if they were short staffed, or they just have less servers in the morning, but it seemed like there were only two waiters available. Both servers reminded us that it would be dinner pricing on the weekend. I actually did not realize that, so I appreciated the heads up. I was in a group of four. We started off by ordering some soft drinks, which came out quickly. Our waiter, Anthony, went straight to business taking our meat orders, and informed us that we can order up to four meats per order (this does not include food from the kitchen). All the dishes came out promptly - I was impressed with how quick the cooked kitchen items came out. I think the first thing we received was the riblets, even before the meat orders. We usually stick to the usual beef belly, pork belly, and brisket. However, this time, I tried the bulgogi fries and dragon shrimp from the kitchen. We typically come for lunch, so I'm not sure if these were new items, or if they've always just been on the dinner menu. Overall, I feel that the quality of food and service is fair for the price. Dinner prices were $31.95pp. The meat was flowing at a decent rate, so we did not feel like we were hungry and waiting on food to arrive.

Diana! You are the mother effing goat! The service was amazing & she looked so beautiful! That's my boo thang!

grill itself was dirty, and we were given dirty utensils.

After 8 years of being a loyal customer, I'm officially done with this location. The food is still great, but the service has completely fallen apart over the last 6 months. Our experience was unacceptable from start to finish. We waited 45 minutes after ordering before any food arrived. Then we had to wait another 15 minutes before anyone even turned on our grill. To make things worse, the grill itself was dirty, and we were given dirty utensils. Out of the 7 meats we ordered, only 3 ever made it to our table, and we never received any of the sides we ordered. We repeatedly tried to get someone's attention, but nothing was done. The manager spent most of the time on his phone instead of helping the staff or checking on customers. There was no sense of urgency, no apology, and no concern that half our order never arrived. It's incredibly disappointing to see a restaurant that provided excellent service for years decline this badly. The food may still be good, but the service is terrible and completely ruins the experience. We'll gladly drive the extra hour to the Cerritos location rather than ever return here. Save yourself the frustration and stay away from this location until they figure out their customer service.

fatty pieces that couldn't be eaten and a drink waiting for a refill for a while

My husband and I visited around 2:30PM, and the restaurant wasn't busy, with only a couple of other groups dining. Our original waiter was great, but shortly after taking our order, we were told he had to leave because it "wasn't busy enough" for him to stay. A different waitress took over. She was friendly, but the service didn't match the friendliness. Our drinks went unrefilled for most of the meal unless someone else offered to fill them and we had to place meat orders through other employees as well because she wasn't around. She also made multiple comments when we ordered additional meat, including "Oh, you want more?" which came across as unnecessary and made us feel uncomfortable. As for the food, the marinated meats were excellent and easily the best part of the meal. The non marinated meats were extremely fatty and lacked flavor. The photo I posted shows some of the fat we had to leave behind, along with a drink that sat waiting for a refill. This visit left us disappointed, we will not be coming back to this location.

I would give 0 star if I can the service today just so HORRIBLE the server I dont think she has experience about the AYCE service she did not gave us any attention throughout the service also Burn my husband hand by not carefully removing the hot pan. We are long time customer the food still the same but the service to be honest its going down over the year Grill has not change even it burning like this I would question about the health risk when smelling those burn ? We did ask to change but they ignore us until the 3-4th time even it is not the busiest day of the week

Oh gen gen gen!!!!!! Honestly very disappointing visit this time around. We got seated at around 4:25 on a Wednesday, normally they come within the 5 minutes or right away to introduce their selves or and get our drinks. Our server (Donna) came to us 30 minutes later. on a Wednesday not a weekend A WEDNESDAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Also the menus in the pictures were extremely greasy like someone dipped them in a grease or something) Food was taking longer to come than usual, server drops off the food and leaves right away. To get her attention again we literally have to wait awhile to get her attention. She just passes us like we're not there. Old plate stays at the table for ever!! Barely get any refills.!!! Pan stays smoking for too long and no one to turn it off or switch it out because no one knows where she is or willing to help. Plastic pieces in our water (sorry it's hard to see or might not even be visible, but I'm telling you it was there) Don't get me wrong the food was great and delicious. But to beg for service and basically beg for our server to come help us, that just takes over everything. The place itself is so spacious and lots of other tables are there. But the thing is they weren't even that busy. The 1 star is for the gentleman server (didn't get his name) that was not even our server but was checking and helping us more than her. And he's the one that kept on following with us if we need anything. Thank you It's always the shitty service with this location that always disappoints. No customer ever has to beg for attention, or barely get what they ask for. Just asking for the bare minimum and they always fail to do so.

    - one of the best priced AYCE KBBQ in the valley -lots of options even at the base level - solid dipping selection and sides -service is very attentive and got our food fast. -servers checked in on us often -Ambience is like if a restaurant was a club; ambient lighting, loud music and huge

Went here for lunch on a Wednesday.... As we walked in, there were two guys behind the counter, neither acknowledged us nor said hi or anything at-all. We waited for four minutes, just standing there, waiting for them. Then one looks at us and says 2? Follow me. He seats us, then the service is decent after that. The ordering and food came at a decent rate, not fast nor slow. The meat quality was WTF. The short plate looked like scrap meat, and when cooked, it was even tinier little pieces, almost looking like goldfish food. The pork jowl was ok, but it's slice thin. Other KBBQ places cut it thick, but most people do t understand how to properly slow cook it, so that's probably why they cut it so thin here, so it could cook fast. The garlic pork belly was the best. We cooked it nice and slow so that it would cook well and not burn. It was really good. The brisket is a joke too! The cut was bad, the slices are not sliced but rather, tiny leftover pieces. They are super lean too, no fat on them at-all. The fried stuff.... Fried chicken pieces were ok without the sauce, but ok doesn't cut it.... If everything is just ok or bad, it makes it not worth coming here to eat.. The Double Dragon (coconut shrimp and regular fried shrimp) was not great neither, something that I expected should be great! Definitely just the run of mill frozen stuff, not even the good stuff. One of the coconut shrimp was bad and soured too. The fish tastes like talapia, so that's not good, I would prefer a fish without a strong flavor. After leaving, your body and your clothes end up smelling better than the food you just ate. Btw, we only came here because Hanoo was not open yet, and I was willing to give Gen another chance. Gen has failed me once again, and probably for the last time!

Ordered food from here yesterday and there was a rusted nail inside the to go. Really surprised and shocked as I've been going here for years. So disappointing!!

She ordered a hot link with ribs and added a side of ribs for an additional $24. The sides came in a small container I had Mac n cheese and greens which every bite I was like wish I had cornbread to add to these greens. While she had greens and the sweet potato (which by the way was the best thing they had going on) the Mac was average I'm about to reheat and toast again before I hit send for this review. Reheated the side of ribs, greens and Mac and it's a bit better than the pulled pork, but this definitely isn't a bbq spot I'd advise anyone to go to nor would I dare try without bbq sauce and a lot of it. We waited more than 10 minutes for the server to greet us. When she finally acknowledged us she told us she'd be with us in a minute. When she finally arrived, we placed our entire order. Apparently the entire stock of vegetables was not available. She never offered us the bread. She forgot to bring the drinks and needed to be reminded. Our booth was cozy and after we finished our salads they did not take the plates away. Another young lady delivered a couple of meals and when I asked her to clear some plates she looked at me like I was crazy and rudely snatched up one plate before walking away. Natalie only checked on us once during the meal. Once we were done we had to flag her down and remind her to bring our checks separated. I then requested bread. She apologized for not bringing it sooner. We wanted dessert but since our server was so slow my husband went to the bar to order. He was back within minutes with our dessert. I highly doubt our regular server could have done that so quickly. Food was good but service was bad. Restaurant fluctuated from being 1/3 to 1/2 full, it never appeared busy yet our table was forgotten frequently.

For July 4th, I was really craving some good BBQ and came across this place on Google while…read moresearching for some spots. I normally love to do stuff like picnics at the park or grilling at the beach, but since I have such a damaged, boring, broken, devided and dysfunctional family, my son and I just decided to come have lunch together. Turns out we were overly dressed for such a casual spot. Established in 1996, this place is clean and average sized. We walked in around 3:30pm on Saturday. There are plenty of tables available for dine-in, or you can place a to-go order as many people were doing. We saw so many people come in to pick up their orders while we were eating. They offer various BBQ options such as pork ribs, beef ribs, tri-tip, and chicken. They even have different combo packages for groups of 2-20, and even more if you wanted to do catering. The prices are very affordable and the portions are generous. Ashley took our order and Iris brought it out to our table. They were both pleasant and helpful. The customer service was great. My son and I both opted for the BBQ Pork Rib lunch special, which comes with a Half Rack of Ribs, 1 dinner roll, and 1 side ($12.95). I got mine with Spanish rice and an additional side of coleslaw (+$2.95). My son chose a garden salad as his side and we also got a medium fountain drink to share ($2.60). Our entire total with tip came out to $39.23. A great deal! We even got an extra rib on our rack, which was a nice surprise. The ribs were not too saucy and not too greasy, just how I like it. They have self-serve station of bottles of extra BBQ sauce (regular and spicy) if you want more. There are also condiment packets like ketchup, mustard, etc...The meat itself was tender and flavorful, and I liked both of my sides. They were a bit small, but altogether a pretty hefty and mighty meal. The temperature of the food was not hot and lukewarm at best. They have one very clean bathroom with all the essentials fully stocked in there. They also have a parking lot with ample amount of spots. There was a TV playing the World Cup way too loud and it was really annoying and distracting. We had a good enough experience here, but I don't think I'll return. Also, they had ran out of wet naps, which is unfortunate for a BBQ restaurant on the 4th of July. They also don't have any dessert/coffee, which I think would be great to have here! I also noticed they put up their "closed" signs on the doors at 4:30, 30 minutes before their closing time. Thanks for a good lunch, but for me, nothing will beat Tony Roma's for the best ribs ever!

All 3 meats were so rubbery, dry, hard and overly cooked. So disappointing to pay almost $400 for food people couldn't enjoy. Service was horrible too. The two girls in the front were cool girls just talking to the guys in the back and didnt even pay attention to the customers coming in. They handed me all our trays then walked away. They didn't even offer to help me, nor condiments, utensil, napkins, plates or anything. One girl kept on asking the other girl if our catering order came with bbq sauce and other essential.

First time here, and it definitely won't be my last…read more The food was flavorful, freshly made, and hit the spot. My coworkers ordered the Chicken Gangjeong in both the Soy Garlic and Sweet & Spicy flavors. I only had a bite of each, but both were juicy and seemed to be made with dark meat chicken. The Soy Garlic was actually sweeter than the Sweet & Spicy, which caught me off guard, while the Sweet & Spicy had more of a mild heat than an overwhelming kick. I ordered the Grandma Tteokbokki at spice level 2 and added melted cheese and ramen. Those add-ons were absolutely worth it. The cheese made the sauce extra creamy, while the ramen soaked up all of the flavor and turned it into a hearty, comforting meal. Spice level 2 had a nice kick without overpowering the dish, making it easy to enjoy from start to finish. Overall, everything we tried was satisfying, and I'd happily come back to work my way through more of the menu. If you're ordering the tteokbokki, I definitely recommend adding the cheese and ramen--you won't regret it.

The Rose was really good, but it was a little too rich for me. I personally preferred the Grandma Tteokbokki. I also liked the larger tteok over the mini tteok because it was softer and chewier. Adding ramen and cheese is a must! The cashier was also really nice. Even though he was new, he was able to answer all of our questions and provided excellent service. The restaurant was super clean, organized, and had a welcoming atmosphere. We'll definitely be back the next time we make a trip to SoCal!
