Look people, not sure what restaurant you're in, but the food here is decent, the service is good and responsive, and the beverage selection is good. It's not $70 a person for a $40 meal, it's $30 a person for a $30 meal. The sides are prety tasty, not Michelin, but bottomless. If you know what you're doing you can ask for and receive, other special sides, spreaders, and dippers. It's a friendly place and fairly priced. The city threw a bike lane on Reseda so the parking got worse, but we loyalists don't care. read more

My table mate and I ordered the $34.99 AYCE. Our first round was the: Brisket: thick cut and had a freezer taste to it. Prime rib steak: thinly cut but was flavorful. Boneless galbi: pretty good. It was a busy lunch at 2:00 pm on a Sunday. I felt bad because the owner (? Guy in his 40s) and a lady (60s?) were the only ones working about 20 tables. We were patient. We waited about 20-30 minutes between the time our first meats came until the waitress came by the table to see how we were doing and to take our second order. We don't know how long it would make until she came back again, so we ordered 4 dishes. She rudely said "too much food!!!" On a super positive note - the owner guy was super nice, friendly, attentive, helpful, and kind! Amazing customer service. Our second round we ordered: Rib eye steak. Good! Boneless galbi. Good. I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. I arrived alone, hoping to enjoy a quiet meal, but was told they do not accommodate single diners. This policy felt unwelcoming and outdated, especially in a city where people often dine solo. Good hospitality should include everyone, regardless of party size. I was feeling AYCE kbbq and I stumbled upon this place. For $26 you can get all the basics, pork belly, brisket, spicy pork, chicken. It's a small selection but it's enough. Side dishes are quite good and refillable. In terms of taste I thought these were pretty solid. The brisket and pork belly came pretty frozen. You have to ask for the steamed egg so definitely do that if that's your thing. Overall experience was good. It's not the best I've had but for $26 it's not bad. Definitely hits the craving. Half the time they seem "busy" meaning there's a lot of tables that have people seated, and the other half of the time there's only a few tables seated, but regardless, they always have the same fast service! We did the $25 menu with brisket and spicy pork! We also got a plate if japchae which costed $21.99. I was a bit disappointed that they stopped serving small sides of japchae since I didn't really want a whole PLATE, but nevertheless, they still brought everything out fast. While me and my group of friends were in search of a Korean BBQ near our recent visit from the beach we stumbled across this restaurant, if you may. Package A, because is the cheapest most affordable for students and this package does not have more than the same five types of meat. Like anyone else we tried to make our money worth of food, because it is a AYCE KOREAN BBQ! The food wasn't extraordinary but it satisfied our hunger. During the conversations like normal people, they would refuse to give us more meat and I know. I try to be comprehensive that they don't want to be wasteful with their food. I am not sure if on purpose but whenever we ran out of meat the crew would just walk past our table and go attend other customers. We tried to show that we needed assistance and when they did arrived they would seem bothered by us asking them for more meat. Which is ridiculous. The service was awful and it added all up when the check came and we paid the amount due. (Keep in mind they do not run it in by any system but calculate it by hand with a paper). They do not request any tip, and even if they did our tip would be the lowest from the service they provided us. Especially, this lady who I would later confront because she demanded, emphasis in DEMANDED for us to give her a tip. Even came outside of their establishment and when I did forcefully give in to give her a tip. She wasn't pleased. I'm sorry, why do I need to give you an abundant tip for your mediocre, poor service? There was this guys and he was the only one that pour water to our cups when he noticed we ran out. It feels shocking that on a tranquil day. Just what I wanted. Solid meats, friendly service, and my money's worth. Opens at 11:30am. Friend and I arrived on a Wednesday morning just after opening and already 5 tables were occupied. We perused the options and went for the deluxe AYCE at $32.95/per person. 2 hour limit. Take home $11.99/ pp. The banchans were standard varieties, but the seaweed, fish and radish were ordered again. Steam egg upon request, which we did and received, was yummy. Nothing stellar, just plain good. We started with rib eye, bulgolgi, spicy chicken and spicy pork. All were delicious. Rib eye was about 1/2" thick, but a good size portion to start. Had a visible amount of fat, but that's where the flavor comes from. Additional sauces for dipping were perfect. Everything else was good, too. Spicy chicken and pork had flavor, not burn, so we enjoyed those as well. Bulgolgi is always a fave, so we agreed it was the best of the lot. 2nd round was bulgolgi, brisket, and the 2 spicy meats again. It seemed the 2nd round had a bit more meat on the platters. I surmised this was a smart tactic to make us so full, we would HAVE to pay the $11.99 take home fee for incomplete finishes. Challenge accepted! This white girl LOOOVES BBQ. My friend tapped out 1/4 of the way through 2nd round, leaving me to finish about 8-10 oz of meat on my own - NO PROBLEM! LOL She also added a cold sake, and I a strawberry soju with our meals. If Pine Tree had a karaoke machine, we would've bogarted that thing and sang crazy little love songs to the other diners. YES, a fine meal indeed. Deliscous and authentic! Smoky grilled meats like pork belly, marinaded Angus beef and chicken! With unlimited side dishes like Korean pancakes, tangy kimchi, fish cakes and fresh salad! You get very large portions and very friendly, attentive service. Our hosts constantly checked in on us and changed our grill a few times without asking. We also got plum wine, Korean beers and we felt so comfortable sitting there enjoying each bite. I will say it gets incredibly hot inside and the restaurant had many flies inside. I used to come to this restaurant a lot 29 years ago. I moved to the east side but today decided to come back and check it out. It is AYCE now. Wow. The food still tastes great. Quality is good. Side dishes great and refillable. Half of the price than where we go for similar Korean BBQ in Encino and Korea town, but the price is much reasonable. My Korean friend really approves this restaurant and we will definitely come back. Came here twice if we are in the Northridge area. Their meat is really good. They have choice of different meats: beef, chicken, pork. We love the beef options and I personally like ordering chicken even though it is not the most common option at a BBQ place where the standard is beef or pork, chicken what?! Regardless, it's all you can eat and we eat until we feel like a button is gonna pop lol! I love their salads! Their water is fresh. The servers were responsive and helpful. For all the negative reviews stating the language barrier will get you poor quality service, what a lousy remark. The women and men at this restaurant are extremely hardworking and attentive in all regards. This is a generational, a legacy business to immerse yourself in a warm inviting culture through food! The menu is straightforward, there is focus on traditional flavors rather than flashy add ons. The service is maternal, they will assist you in adding meats to your grill or providing your bill ahead of time to avoid making you flag them down to pay. They work at a fast but efficient pace. I've seen these staff bring modified dishes for crying babies with no meal, explain korean bbq to older couples who only speak spanish, and sing happy birthday to those celebrating. I'm extremely disappointed at the lack of consideration for these workers inside and out of the restaurant. If you're around the area, I implore you to consider this restaurant and keep an open mind. Pine Tree offers two level of Korean BBQ, I chose the lower level at $25.95 for dinner which is pretty much unheard of. While they had very limited meat options to choose from, I mainly came for the brisket and pork belly so it wasn't too big of a deal. There were also only two complimentary orders, but I don't order much except for the steamed eggs anyways. The saying "you get what you pay for" rings true in this case and I would rather pay a little more for better marbled brisket and pork belly with meat. MY ORDER: x_ Angus Beef Brisket x_ Berkshire Pork Belly Slices x1 Korean Pancake ANGUS BEEF BRISKET: The beef brisket was poorly marbled, making it a bit tough to eat. BERKSHIRE PORK BELLY: I was very disappointed - 90% of each cut was just fat with a sliver of meat on the side. Korean Pancake: ($5.95) I didn't enjoy this very much. It wasn't as crispy or flavorful as the pancakes you could get at other Korean eateries. On top of that, it is essentially the same as one of the banchans they give you. Ask for enough banchan refills and you'll have eaten an entire Korean pancake. ENVIRONMENT: It is a clean restaurant with large vents propped on top of each table and is fairly large. Despite the vents, you won't be able to escape smelling like grilled meat. There is no salad bar or sauce counter. You do get some Cho Ganjing Korean soy vinegar dipping sauce.
