I like this place! Great to have a fresh and healthy option in the area. For what you get though, it is a little pricey I feel. They do have good products though. My typical go to salad is: El Sombrero (4): I get it with chicken. I just love the flavors of this salad. They're fairly consistent too. New item: Big Dumper Cal Caliente Wrap (5): Uh-Maze-Ing! I honestly was not expecting it to hit so hard but this was delicious! I sub'd quinoa instead of rice and it was perfect! Tasted more like a burrito, but it was fantastic! Good kick with the spice and the pork just went well with all the flavors. Hope this stays on the menu! Especially since Big Dumper is making history! Lines can get long during lunch. After waiting 20 minutes they told me it would be another 20 minutes and it would be faster if I waited in line. Clearly they won't understand their own 'order ahead and skip the line' feature. Well, if you are looking for a place to get a fresh, quick, healthy lunch, then Evergreens is it. They have some bowls, wraps and salads. We ordered salads starting with the Southern Saucepitality and El Sombrero. They ask if you want light, regular or extra dressing. We opted for regular and it was perfect. The flavors were great with both salads. The small is hearty and the large is perfect for a nice filling lunch. You can add proteins like steak, chicken or avocado. This was perfect as we were on the go the day we stopped in. Stayed with a healthy meal but fast. The staff were friendly and the environment was casual and clean. The customer service here is terrible. I even offered to speak to a manager prior to writing this review to understand what I was able to do differently as a customer to receive better service and I never received a call even though I knew that there was nothing I could do to fix what seems to be poor management, basic people skills and poor communication. They charge almost $20 bucks for a salad, which is amazing btw but they have no clue as to what please and thank you do for customers. Unfortunately, it's the times we're living in but when I asked to contact higher management to discuss the poor service which so many people in our city complain about with this place, the store manager looked at me as she saw a ghost and seemed like she had never heard feedback in her entire life. I then asked for the customer service information for corporate and the number that I was given was invalid which the manager stated was their customer service line. I wrote the email in the car as I ate my salad then decided to go back in and ask if the email was correct and requested the manager again and one of the employees went to the back to get her and she stated that she went home....which was ironic based on the face that I watched her walk back into the store as I drafted the email. I then went back to my car to search for a corporate number to contact and 5 minutes later the manager runs out of the store to her vehicle.......Strangest customer service I've EVER experienced to say the least!! Wow! I'm having such a hard time finding words to describe how perfect these salads are. They are so fresh, tasty, and unique in design. The greens are perfectly crisp, the dressings aren't overbearing, and the ingredients are paired nicely. I love the touch of rosemary bread that they offer as well, it's a nice little addition. I live in Puyallup and the closest location is Bellevue, so we always get two salads each (dressing on side) and have had success in keeping the second in the fridge for a day or two. This is simply because I love it so much but cannot keep driving to Bellevue every time I have a craving. My favorite is the 'Mango Your Own Way" and my partner loves the 'Broc and Roll'. I SCREAM FOR EVERGREENS! Okay, so apparently there already is an Evergreens Salad in downtown Bellevue, but it's only for those who work in the area, as it's open only during lunch hours on weekdays. Therefore, it is impossible for someone who works in Seattle (yours truly) to eat at the Bellevue location. BUT, Evergreens now has a second location in downtown Bellevue, which took over the former Jamba Juice next to Chipotle. This location is one for Bellevue visitors to enjoy, beyond the lunch hours. I came here for the grand opening and was one of the first 150 people to get a free salad! YASSS! I am a huge fan of Evergreens and usually eat at one of the downtown Seattle locations, so to have this in my neighborhood just puts the cherry on top. I can now enjoy Evergreens during the evening, weekends and so on. It's a welcomed addition to the area, lemmee tell ya! I ordered my favorite, the Spicy & Kale Caesar Salad, and added bacon and egg, which are free proteins! Unlike at the other locations, they do not chop up your salad, so when I asked about this, they mentioned that all the items are already chopped, to ensure everything is bite size. Good to know. Still tasted the same as always, so it was a win! In addition to salads, they have wraps and bowls with a quinoa base, and other healthy snacks and drinks like kombucha! The situation took an unexpected turn when Liz intervened at the point of sale. She reprimanded the server for my large salad, which exceeded the bowl's height due to the addition of 5 extra avocados - a personal preference that warrants a fair price increase. What truly took me aback was Liz's negative demeanor and dismissive tone. Instead of providing me with the total cost, she curtly pointed towards the card processor with a terse "you can pay there". I felt singled out and targeted, which was deeply distressing. My discomfort only grew when Liz continued discussing my order with the server in my presence while he was attending to another customer. This overt lack of professionalism and subtle hostility from Liz was not only shocking but completely out of place for an establishment that prides itself on customer service. This incident left me feeling anxious and humiliated, emotions that no loyal customer should ever have to experience. As someone with years of senior management experience, I found Liz's behavior starkly unprofessional and unacceptable. I share this incident out of deep respect for Evergreens and its dedicated team at the Bellevue location, who should not be implicated in this situation. They give you a great meal for your buck, they're relatively fast for how complex the made to order salads are. They also have lot of great healthy options for kids and accommodating to almost any dietary need. As you walk in, your hit with cold air and images of veggies, making you feel fresh and healthy. The thing about places like this, is they are designed to make you feel healthy and fresh and "organic", but a large salad with avocado, cheese, protein, and dressing... that's gonna be more calories than a burger sometimes. I used to work at a restaurant back in my youthful summers of high school and I'll just say the salads were some of the least healthy items on our menu... and it was burger place. I got the El Sombrero salad with habanero mango vinaigrette instead of the cilantro lime dressing. Really tasty! Most of my lettuce was the root instead of the leafy part which was disappointing, but likely just bad luck. I've had other salads here without having that problem.
