This may be one of my new go to's. I love Greek food and I love to customize my food so this is right up my alley. I got the build your bowl and did a rice, couscous, and farmers blend base. I couldn't decide between the chicken shawarma or lemon chicken and the employee told me to get the shawarma, but then told me I could do half and half. The shawarma was really good but I'm so glad I tried the lemon chicken because it was delicious. Both were full of flavor and cooked really well! 4.75/5! I added hummus, tzatziki, and I think some sort of feta sauce. I also added tomatoes and topped with feta cheese. I tried the lemon oil and tahini on the side! Everything felt very fresh and flavorful. I didn't try a single thing that I felt was lacking flavor. The only thing I would personally do next time is only go with the tzatziki and feta sauce instead of adding the hummus purely because it made the food feel super super heavy instead of the lightness I usually get from Mediterranean food. The only thing preventing me from the 5th star was that it didn't really seem like anyone who was working wanted to be there but I've worked in restaurants so I totally get it could've just been because it was a slow day. I love that it's a build your own bowl/wrap type of situation. There's a good amount of choices to choose from and the hummus is good! The serving size is alright for the price and I definitely feel healthy getting this. It is refreshing to eat. The mushroom and the chicken were both really good. I like the mushroom a lot and the artichoke was good too. It's a small place but there's places to sit and eat your meals. The servers were quick and made it in front of us kinda like chipotle style. read more

We were looking for CAVA and saw this listed as one of the Mediterranean restaurants in the area. Decided to give it a try and it was a pleasant surprise! There was no one in this small place around 3pm on a Tuesday and we had the entire place to ourselves. Just like CAVA, you chose your base (couscous, chickpeas, green veggies), protein (shawarma chicken, lemon chicken, gyro, beef), and all sorts of toppings and sauces. We ordered two bowls with completely different combos and they turn out both delicious. Give their date and tahini smoothie a try! It had a creamy sesame taste but not too strong or sweet. read more

Just around the corner from the Courtyard Marriott that kindly has parking for this establishment, this Chipotle-style Mediterranean food place is a wonderful change of pace on a "I don't want to cook" night. I had a bowl, chose kale and chickpeas with chicken shawarma three scoops of dip, and some topics. The food is very good and the folks are very welcoming. I have visited many times before. read more

This place is my new favorite lunch or dinner spot. There is comfortable seating, the menu is easy to read and easy to follow. I got the bowl with warm garbanzo beans, hummus, eggplant, taziki, topped with nearly all the veggies. The falafel is so fresh, crunchy and not greasy. Don't forget the Dolmades. So. Good. It was kind of hard. So am not sure how the pita wrap would taste. Build your own bowl is the way to go. I started with couscous and chickpea base. Eggplant hummus, zesty feta and harissa hummus. All the other add-ons. You can even get some sauces on the side. For protein I got the falafels. Fried upon order. So good! Overall, a great lunch option for $12.95! The only problem with going for dinner is they sometimes run out of stuff. Like the tahini sauce. Can be a little annoying when they are out of a basic ingredient. So best to go for lunch! read more

Pretty good bang for your buck, especially if you get the bowl. My falafel bowl looked more bountiful than the chicken bowl. While there's seating inside, it has more of a take out vibe so take that into consideration while looking for places to eat. There's parking by the nearby Marriott. read more

Basically a Mediterranean Chipotle. You pick your protein and base whether that's a gyro, wrap, or bowl and keep going down the assembly line. The portions are very big and filling. There's a variety of hummus spread that you can sample and even more sauces that you can add. I'm not super familiar with Mediterranean cuisine to be able to identify a lot of toppings, but it somehow ended up very good all wrapped up in a tortilla. Fast, casual, less than $20 with tax and tip. My clients love visiting this place whenever they are in Downtown Bellevue, finally got to try this place and I never knew that it was right next to Coco where I sometimes get boba! Nice place. A bit small and crowded, but worth it. Ingredients looked fresh and very good. Staff were great and super friendly. Stayed calm with the rush of patrons waiting. I ordered a bowl with Moroccan Steak, cous cous and spinach, and loaded with ev-very-thang! Topped with the Moroccan sauce...very hot but not a soul burner. My wife had a spinach wrap with olive, hummus, and zesty something. Moroccan Steak was spicy for her but very good. All in all it's definitely worth it. Pleasantly surprised by our yummy lunch... especially since we popped in totally last minute based on a map search and the fact that hummus was in the name. Staff was great and helpful since it was our first visit. The did was fresh and we both enjoyed what we ordered. Why not 5 stars? Allll the disposables and only a garbage can. With compostable bowls and recyclable cans/bottles/cups, they should have more receptacles so items aren't going to the landfill. This is 2022 and there is a climate emergency. Saving resources is important. Better yet, perhaps the company can invest in reusables and save themselves some money. I'll be back... with my own container. read more

I've ordered via app and in-person and I've been so happy with each order. The food is so good. They seem to have taken feedback from some older reviews and improved. The food is a bit pricey but I am full and satisfied every time. You need to careful with your own selections so you don't make the bowl too salty but otherwise I've found the ingredients to be good quality, a good selection, and very tasty! read more

After reading lots of positive reviews, my partner and I were excited to try this place, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The food was inedible and of very poor quality. We both got our own bowls but sadly one of use was left with less then half bowl of rice! Instead of offering us an alternative like extra protein or a different base, we were left with stale and overly salty chicken. We spent $45 on this meal, and honestly, we wish we had gone to Chipotle instead. read more

Ordered online via their website at 11:32, it said my order would be ready at 12:05. I arrived at 12:05. It was 25 minutes before anyone even spoke to me while I waited at the counter (25+ walk-in customers were served in this time). Only then did they start making my order. It's worth noting that the three ladies behind the counter were working hard, this place is just wildly understaffed. Avoid it if you value your time. Edit: finally got my order at 12:44. I got to spend my entire lunch waiting for my lunch... Food was fine, slightly better than a cafeteria special but half the portion. Never coming back here. read more

I would not order this via a food delivery app. I am extremely disappointed in the meal I just received. Half the items I requested was not included in my bowl. I tried to call the restaurant but of course no one picked up. No couscous, hummus, most vegetables and herbs, tabbouleh, chickpea croutons. It's insane how much is missing. What I did received tastes great but I'm extremely disappointed in the lack of care to customer orders. I will not be ordering from this place in the future if this is how orders are made. read more

I've been looking for a Mediterranean place in the Greater Seattle area that is similar to a Cava (if anyone is familiar it's like Chipotle meets Mediterranean) essentially something fast, fresh, customizable and delicious. Hummus Republic fits the bill! This bowl was amazing-- I can't even tell you what all I got because I just selected all my favorite sauces and hummus. So so so so good. We tried this place for the first time tonight through Uber Eats delivery. I was thoroughly impressed with how my bowl turned out! I got all kinds of toppings and worried that maybe it was gonna turn out weird but it didn't! I was surprised how flavorful and tasty their falafel was because I'm not usually a big fan of falafel. I also really liked the mushroom shawarma and my hubby tried the vegan beef which was also better than I expected! Everything was delicious! I will say that my bowl turned out to be more full and had more food than my hubby's because I got so many different toppings. So I'm guessing you don't necessarily get more of each ingredient when you order less variety, you might just get less food overall. Just something to keep in mind when building your bowl! I got a vegan bowl with couscous, spinach, different types of hummus, mushrooms, toppings (pickled cabbage, kale salad, cucumbers, tomatoes, herbs) and hot sauce and lemon tahini. It was really worth the $15 I paid, for both the quantity and quality. The mushrooms were really yum! Just one thing - they didn't have everything they have on their online menu. This is a Mediterranean version of chipotle!! SO tasty and amazing choices. We randomly tried this place on a Saturday afternoon. Quick service as there was no line. We ordered a salad and a pita sandwich. We chose The mushroom shwarma for the salad and the falafel for the pita. The hummus options all sounded good but we tried the taziki, zesty taziki dip, and eggplant hummus. All were very tasty!! Also definitely try the "Grandma's hot sauce" as it wasn't too spicy but very flavorful. We will definitely be back here again for a filling, healthy lunch! read more

Forgot to take a photo of my meal but got dinner here last night. I got a Chicken Shawarma bowl. Let me start with the pros... You get unlimited toppings/sauces and decently priced. However, the chicken was SO SALTY and so was "Grandma's Hot Sauce"!!! I assume "Grandma's Hot Sauce" is their take on the traditional mediterranean Skhug sauce (I really like Cava's or Trader Joe's versions). At some point the chicken was too salty it was hard to finish the dish. Glad I put the sauce on the side. Otherwise, my bowl would have been WAY too salty read more

Great for quick lunch or dinners if you like mediterranean bowls. This is like chipotle for middle eastern bowls to be precise. I had two bowls and loved the tasty no fuss bowls. You start with the base options (any combination) of couscous, kale, spring mix and garbanzo. Then you get to add up to three flavor bases from original/olive/harissa/eggplant hummus or tzaziki. Then protein options i got the chicken shwarma and falafels. Chicken were overdone but tasty and falafel were crunch but could do with more herbs and salt in the falafel mix. Then you add assorted toppings and sauces of your choice. I recommend adding garbanzo croutons,pickled red cabbage, pomegranate kale salad with garlic jalapeno tahini read more

I randomly saw that Hummus Republic had opened while on my way to get boba next door at Coco's and decided to try it on a whim. From how an employee described it (and I agree), it's basically like Chipotle but Mediterranean style. The good: - I ordered the bowl which was pretty decent sized and included a free pita bread on the side. - Ingredients are fresh and you can mix and match them. Lots of selections and toppings, my bowl was basically overflowing by the end (see pic). - You can sample the different types of hummus and sauces. There's six-ish to choose from and some were definitely unfamiliar to me. You can choose up to three to include in your bowl. - There's a decent amount of seating inside. The OK: - Gyro meat was pretty dry and I probably wouldn't get it again. Everything else in the bowl was great, though. - Parking can be hard to find if you don't know where to look. Apparently there's free retail parking in the Marriott garage but many I know (including myself, until recently) aren't aware of this and street parking can be difficult. The total was about $16 after tax and tip, which is typical around Bellevue but definitely pricier than Chipotle (despite both being chain restaurants). I will say that the portions sizes at Hummus Republic seem to be bigger, so it overall evens out. Would recommend giving this place a try if you're looking for a healthy Chipotle-like alternative. I'll be back to try their different types of hummus! read more

Ordered takeout from this restaurant. It was good to see a build your own bowl option which was quite healthy. Ample of topping choices, loved the mushroom protein choice. A little on the pricier side. The sweet potato fries that came with the burger was delicious but the burger could have used a sauce on the side as it was on the drier side. Today I went to Hummus Republic for lunch for the first time. My coworker and I were helped right away, and the menu is very easy to navigate. I got a bowl with garbanzo beans, mixed greens and steak with the traditional and feta hummus's and tzatziki sauce. It was genuinely one of the best meals I've had for a quick lunch in a long time. Very good flavors, healthy ingredients, and it's a couple hours later and I'm still full and satisfied. Amazing! One thing to note: when we went in, the music was being played quite loud, I would recommend they turn it down just a bit and choose a genre more appropriate for the ambience. This is a great addition to Bellevue for lunch! The serving sizes are huge and you can basically add all the toppings you want to Build Your Own Bowl. I added a ton to try a bit of everything for the first time (shown in the picture) and the flavors were tasty. I preferred the falafel over the chicken, and enjoyed the toppings and sauces. Would definitely get for lunch again and will try to build my perfect bowl. read more

i love mediterranean inspired fast casual places like cava (shoutout to washington dc!), so of course i had to try hummus republic when i saw it in google maps. in comparison to cava or other ones i've tried (like muncheez and taïm, both in DC), it's definitely more hummus centric (hence the name). i got three huge scoops of hummus, which was way too much for me. nonetheless, the rest of the ingredients were fresh and paired well. i loved the herbs, the chicken shawarma, and lemon chicken! read more

I love the fries and the burgers have always been cooked well. I think that with more burger competition out there great state may have had to adapt. I do miss the Chinatown location. The ambiance was super cosy. The Bellevue location is nice also as it's a walk up window. Nonetheless, the Ballard location is my all time favorite in terms of ambiance, service and food. A public school lunch burger, circa 1980, is even better when you include the nostalgia factor. Just about any food in Seattle, is overpriced. I'm starting to figure that out. But this was overpriced AND bad. I am usually very forgiving since I used to be a line cook. It takes truly terrible food for me to reach the max. character limit on Yelp. There are two locations in the Bellevue Square shopping area. The larger one is in the main mall. And there's a smaller location at Lincoln Square South (across the street) next to King Leroy bar that serves as their kitchen and has their burgers on the bar menu while also serving out of a take-out window outside the bar area in the "food hall". I visited the smaller of the two, the one attached to King Leroy in Lincoln Square South. I just finished a movie (on a Monday) and wanted something more than popcorn in my stomach. It was already getting too late to cook something at home. I ordered the Great State Burger. Their namesake burger. How could I go wrong? I'm supporting a local chain right that talks about local, local, local...it's gotta be good, right? WRONG. When I got my food, I thought it was something off a kids menu. It was SO TINY. (I took a photo next to my keys for scale.) The patty was gray, with very little caramelization if any. Almost no flavor. When I say almost, I mean the only detectable flavor was from the pickles. It was swimming in their "great state sauce" which was more like weak thousand island dressing. And the lettuce looked like it has seen better days. The bun (which is the closest thing to Wonder Bread I've had in a long time) was not up to the task with all that sauce/dressing. It held up as well as a wet paper towel, but a paper towel would've tasted better. If you've ever seen the movie Falling Down starring Michael Douglas, he's already nuts, but he's further outraged by the tired, squashed burger he is served at the Whammyburger. The Great State Burger reminds me of that same sad burger in the movie. They charge $10.50 for this? And don't forget since it's counter service at the window, you pay the tip ahead of time, and assume it's going to be good. I normally tip 20%. I gambled and lost. Oh...amost forgot. I had a side of onion rings. $8. I counted 7 1/2 onion rings. That's I think $1.07 per onion ring if you round up to the nearest cent. Also not giving me warm fuzzies about this place. Fogo de Chao in the same building has an all-day, everyday happy hour menu with a $10 burger. (UPDATE: I had the burger at Fogo de Chao a week later and it was 1,000 times better.) Tavern Hall (near the skybridge on 2nd floor of Bellevue Square, eastisde of the NE parking garage) has a $10 happy hour cheeseburger and an extensive happy hour menu. I'll have to give that a try next. McDonald's has a Quarter Pounder with cheese for a little over $7 in the Seattle area, and I know for a fact it's way better (if you get past the whole terrible corporate fast food thing). I'm gonna say Wendy's Son of Baconator is better as well (for sure when it's $3 on the Wendy's app). Jollibee's Angus Cheeseburger is leaps and bounds better, and that's from a place that serves chicken, and burgers are kind of an afterthought. One day after I had the insult to all burgers from Great State, I made a burger at home with store-bought ingredients and it tasted very good. And I'm not exactly a Top Chef finalist. It's not rocket science. There is no reason at all to get a burger from Great State Burger. There are too many other options nearby and nobody should degrade themselves by paying money for such a pathetic and miserable product. Seriously, I don't know how this local chain got popular. It's bad food at ridiculous prices. Granted, food in any kind of mall setting is taking advantage of a captive audience. Fish in a barrel as the saying goes. But this is truly shameful. I wonder if the owners actually try the food at this location and do any quality control, or are the burgers this bad at all their locations? My google research say this chain used to be part of the famed Sea Creatures Restaurant Group lead by Chef Renee Erickson, but it's not longer listed as one of their properties on their website. An Everout (The Stranger) news blurb from March 2023 says Erickson sold the chain to one of her employees Nathan Yeager. Well, judging by the quality of the food, it's gone waaaay downhill since Erickson sold. Or it was never good to begin with?

Downtown Bellevue has an interesting set-up, with no McDonald's, Burger King, or Taco Bell within walking distance...there is a Wendy's though, so my wife and I decided to take a stroll to pick up a late lunch/early dinner. Ordered through the app. Even though I hadn't used it for a couple of years, it still offered some good deals, including a Dave's Single for $1 with other purchase, which is what I took advantage of. The app also allows you to customize by asking for eXTra toppings, which is what I did (pickle, onion, tomato, lettuce) for no charge. They use whole romaine lettuce instead of iceburg, which I hadn't noticed before. A Jr Vanilla Frosty ($1.79) was our dessert: quite small but creamy and delicious. I always get a small chili ($3.19) when at Wendys'...the large is only $1 more, but I've found the small is a better deal. The chili wasn't great this time, though: very runny with little flavor. My wife got a biggie bag (junior bacon cheeseburger, junior fries, small drink, and 4 piece nuggets (upgraded to spicy buffalo for extra dollar). They give you a ton of warm sauce topped on the 4 nuggets...need to eat it fast. A better deal is to get the normal nuggets and get the buffalo dipping sauce. They have a Coke free style machine, so can go wild with flavors with your drink. The restaurant was pretty clean, with a lot of sunny seating. The workers were rude: nobody was manning any of the walk-up lines, and multiple folks continuously ignored me as they walked past even though I made eye contact and gave a 'need help' nod while standing in the mobile pickup area. A simple 'Someone will be with you...' would have made a big difference.
