Used to LOVE this place, but greed of newest owner is spoiling it AND the food it's trying to sell. Adding to what many reviewers have already said, many "expired" items are same price or sale price of major grocery stores. I have no problem eating "expired" food - dates are a suggestion, not a rule. But it should be MUCH cheaper than fresh, AND still edible. VERY expired food needs to be priced to move or it'll end up in the landfill. (Grocery Outlet does a GREAT job at this.) 79 cents for a brown, squishy avocado is pointless. Should have priced them 4/$1 when they were still edible! Organic nut butters are a good example: $3 for a small jar of organic peanut butter that's over a year out of date is just wrong. It's likely already off because it doesn't have the stabilizers more processed nut butters have. Fresh produce is still plentiful, but again, if it's grocery-store quality it's often same price or more than grocery stores: $2/lb for conventional broccoli, $1 for a fresh avocado, 69 cents for a lime... According to the multi-store owner's website, "our mission is to provide our customers with good quality groceries at affordable prices." It's not doing either consistently anymore, ripping off customers and contributing to food waste. Hard to believe the last owner didn't turn more profit. S/he sure made the place a MUCH nicer shopping experience... felt like digging for treasure with cheap gourmet items in every corner and cart! Staff were A LOT happier, too. :-( read more

Food is past its prime and priced accordingly.. Lots of deals and you definitely need to use this stuff soon. Super bargains if you look closely and shop wisely. Wide variety with plenty of options. Not being a big user of ultra processed food made shopping here a challenge. Fruits and veg are a scavenger hunt to find the fresher stuff, much of what I see is over ripe or off, again you get outrageous bargains but there is a lot to sort through to find the gems. read more

This used to be the place to go for real food deals whether fresh, frozen or packaged. Not anymore. The current ownership goal has become to stuff as much profit into his pocketregardless of product quality. I used to be able to find slightly bruised produce at very reasonable prices. Now rotted produce is sold at slightly lower supermarket prices. Other packaged items are sold well beyond expiration dates some even a year after expiring. Everyday Deals has become Everyday Steals. LOVE this store! I am addicted! Great deals on produce and frozen berries etc. I walk up and down all of the aisles. You never know what bargains you might find. " If " you really like EXPIRED EXPIRATION DATES ON YOUR FOOD (some going back as far as four to five years, depending upon the product), then by all means BUY STUFF HERE. The cold items really are not refrigerated to accurate levels, and much of the remainder of this "bargain store" has EXPIRED FOOD DATES, not to mention "mysterious Russian food products " (written in Russian, which I know absolutely nothing about their language). I have found VERY FEW PRODUCTS TO BUY HERE that wouldn't make me "potentially sick at home". It's junky, but that part is OK "if the expiration dates were generally N-O-T outdated on just about everything I see here ". Everything's pretty much marked $1.00 . . . but, again, "freshness" in food quality is not a "priority here". Buy it or not and who cares (clearly). Shop here at your own risk. If you're not concerned about "healthy normal safe eating", then enjoy. I like BARGAINS, BUT ONLY WHEN I ACTUALLY FEEL SAFE EATING THEM ! If you have OCD don't come here. This place is full of stuff. Isles are difficult to navigate with a cart and organizationally inept is an understatement. However if you're on a budget and don't mind almost expired dry goods then this is the spot. Cheap cheap cheap foods. Note: the Stark location is waaaaaaay more organized and the customer service is top notch plus they have more variety. For a quick, cheap staple this place is the spot! read more

Unbelievable store.. You have to be patient but the products and prices are crazy.. I just bought 3 bottles of Name Brand Wines for $10. 00 I pay the same brand for $10 for one bottle elsewhere.. As a big family, we love this store. $2 packs of center-cut bacon, $2/lb seasoned pork roasts. $1 for large tubs of "OrganicGirl" super green salads. $0.29/lb for small red potatoes (which normally run nearly $1/lb in other stores). Amazing prices on produce (and variety arrives daily)! It is rare in a normal store for me to be able to afford organic, but here, we buy tons of organic & can afford to do it without guilt & while staying well within our budget for groceries. It's worth it to hit up both "Everyday Deals" stores in the same store run because while they sometimes have *some* of the same deals, they carry different kinds of products, and sometimes have different selections. I'm a senior and they are always helpful to me. They see me walking through the door and someone always comes over 90% of the time. I lost my husband recently and was a little lost and consumed by his death and not thinking straight. Plus I have recently moved here so even worse for me. They helped me get through my shopping. You have to have the the right mentality when shopping @ Everyday Deals: 90% of the merchandise is expired, about to expire, overstock, or no longer sold. The stores are filthy, dusty and crowded, but that's part of the fun: you don't come to a discount grocery store expecting a Whole Foods experience! This is the coolest store ever . I shop there everyday . I can find different stuff there all the time but if you find something you like u better buy a lot case it will be gone fast .i don't know how they can sell stuff so cheap .i can get a whole cart of stuff for $20 or $30 bucks . The only bad part is sometimes there is mobs of pushy and rude customers so you have to be patient . The wine section is great you can get 3 bottles for $10. The produce part is cool also I got nice bananas for .25lb . I have been to both of their stores and they seem different all the time but 146th and stark is much bigger so I go there . The employees are super fun and helpfully even though they have to deal with so many people . Someone should put that store on u tube you can't believe how many people there are standing in the produce area waiting for more to be put out read more

This place is pure comedy! It's so depressing it's funny! The food is a joke, the atmosphere looks like something out of the movie Idiocrasy! When I walked in for the first time there was carnival music playing from some crappy toy machine and some people looked so lost and confused wandering around staring at the expired food. There was a manager or person of some kind in charge yelling at a poor soul who also worked there to get back to work and someone asked me what I was looking at, it happened to be expired coffee. I wanted to laugh and cry the entire time I was there and finally when I was daring enough to buy a few items at check out they just glance at your pile of junk and say hmm 5 bucks lol I may not like the overly priced stores but this is going too far in the other direction.
