Avoid using a debit or credit card to pay. They will charge you a $40 authorization fee in error, and when you ask for a refund, they might return the money or they might tell you they can't refund the $ and instead will send you the credit on an EVGo card. This has happened to me twice - I got the refund the first time and am waiting for the refund still the second time after insisting I didn't want their card. read more

I was actually gave no stars because I I wasn't. So I was charged 699 for the membership and when I plug my car up and it started charging it was only charging at 42 kilowatts when I have a brand new 2025 Chevy equinox that only has 2,000 miles on it and every other place I'll charge $150 kilowatts all way up to 350 so I called to cancel my membership which only use $4 and they told me oh I can't cancel because I use the membership I unplugged my car and went to electrify America and within 30 minutes my car was charged to 80% when I start to plug up my car at like for America I had 42%. I sat there and only got up to 44% and was sitting there for 8 minutes so I hope you never ever use evgo always use electrify America they are the best. Stay clear of evgo and do not ever get their membership plan because even if you only use $4 and stop to go somewhere else they won't refund your money they are horrible and thieves read more

I have tried Yorba Linda town center location 3 times in the last month since I have owned a new Cadillac lyric. Since GM has contract with them, I wanted to use this station. Two out of four stations have never worked. The other two that suppose to work only one is compatible with GM. I could never get ithe charger started with my EVGOapp and every time I have to call EVgo to start the charger. Today I have to call them four times in 30 to 35 minute timeframe. Every time the car starts charging few minutes later the charger will stop and show "error". I wasted all the time talking to different customer service people I decided to give up and walk away. I still have app that does not work. The charger that does not work and hardly a few Kw charge. read more

This was my first time using EvGo. I now refer to the service as EvNoGo. I tried to use Banjo in Ft. Worth to no avail. Called support, which was great. They told me after trying to resolve the issue that Banjo was offline. They sent me to the next garage in the shopping area to try Jaquan. Again, no dice. Unit appeared to be operational but the credit card reader was broken. It's not worth spending vast sums of money installing and touting a network of chargers if they don't work. My experience was dreadful. It's a terrible feeling to think you're stuck with no way to get home. I doubt I will use the service again, it's just not worth the gamble. read more

The EVgo app is not secure. My account was hacked into after charging in an EVgo fast charging station. Later, when I was at home and my car in garage, I received an email that my car is fully charged and also my credit card was charged. I contacted the customer service to let you know thay their app has a security bug, but they did not care. I deleted my EVgo account and app, and never gonna use it again. read more

I signed up for EB go and was charged almost 5 dollars and a month for nothing. When I noticed this on my credit card I cancelled service. Five months later, without notification, EV go had sent a $5.40 bill to a collections agency who started harassing me. I had no idea from EVgo that I owed any money and they are unreachable by telephone. Do not use this service. They rip you off and charge you for absolutely nothing and when you cancel, you have no idea if you still owe money and the bill is sent to collection I now have a $35 bill from collection that came out of the blue. I've needed to use EvGo about a dozen times this year, each time it's been frustrating because I've needed to call and get a rep to connect because the station isn't working, my RFP card isn't working, or- whatever. Today when I called, the service rep was not just rude, but actually mean. I was standing out in a parking garage roof, about 90 degrees outside, I've been stuck in traffic, and granted, I was impatient, but the service guy should be professional- but no! This is absolutely the worst company. My car finished charging but I couldn't disconnect charge cable connector. I called the 'help' number, did whatever they told me for 15 minutes with no success. Finally, they said someone would be there in 30-60 minutes. Nobody showed up after an hour and the rep said it could take up to 4 hours! Unbelievable! App and station is not intuitive. Spent 30 minutes trying to get power to my tesla model 3. Customer service tried to reboot the station remotely without success. A simple credit card swiper would solve all of their issues. Amazed how poor the design and illogical system they have. read more

The worst experience I've ever had.. I arrive SLOi EVGO199 At 11.26am on Saturday with my Audi Audi GT the charger got stuck in my car.. I called Audi EVgo etc etc.. it would not disconnect.. I made 20 plus calls and was directed to over 40 peeps.. outrageous.. not one person could help finally some rep got back to me 2plus hours later then finally got intouch with a technician who was coming from Orange County to Pismo beach to see about removing the nozzle from my careta is 6.30pm .. not one text in the central coast.. This conveniently located electric car charging station is by far the least convenient experience I have ever had in my entire life. I have been on the phone for over an hour trying to get a one time charge and absolutely no progress has been made. The outside world is not ready for electric cars. EVgo chargers in the Greater Cincinnati area are old, poorly maintained, and rarely if ever work. If you attempt to use one, be prepared to call customer support and spend a half an hour helping them to trouble shoot the problem. Do not let them guide you to another charger. I have had customer support swear that nothing is wrong with the next charger and when you drive to it, hook it up and press start, the charger will tell you it's off line. Bottom line gas stations have canopies for a reason. To protect the pumps from the elements. You can't use touch screens on a level 3 charger and subject them to Summer sun and freezing temperatures and expect them to work. Build a shelter for your charger and your customers. Monthly maintenance checks should be the norm. read more

If I could give this company Zero stars I would. I got a new Bolt EV and took a road trip planning to charge the car at one of the EVgo locations. I got there and there was only one charger to fit my car. Plugged in, entered all the account info and it wouldn't charge. Called EVgo and the rude lady said the machine was broken. She sent me to another location. I went there and went through the same deal and it didn't work either. I called and got a nicer person who tried to "reboot" the machine. That didn't work either. An hour later and I still couldn't charge my car. This is a TERRIBLE company - I would not trust them. read more

The rep did as much as he could do over the phone. However the field department response time is unacceptable . An electric vehicle cannot give heat if the battery is not powered on. The charger is stuck to my car and I'm being told to wait 4 hrs for someone to come take it out . Ok, I am bucking the trend here on the reviews. First a little info to set the stage: 1. I do not have a home charger and don't think I really need one, there are several free chargers in our area and there are EVgo Chargers nearby when I do need a faster charge. 2. I have accounts with all of the following: EVgo (Their old $14.95/month plan that gives fast charging at $0.10 per minute) Charge point Green lots Siemens Blink And a couple of local networks In addition I use a lot of Clipper Creek chargers, as they are the free ones. I find the order of reliability to be in the following order from most reliable to least reliable: Clipper Creek Chargepoint/EVgo (they are a tie and a very close second to Clipper Creek) Siemens/Local Networks Green lots Blink (This is absolutely dead last and should be further down the list, but I am out of companies, really they are bad) Now with Charge point, I have had to call customer service a couple of times to get new cards and it took quite a bit to get a hold of them. EVgo answers within a couple of rings and the people I have had have all been very friendly and professional. Now I am taking one star off due to the problems I am having today, my car has been in the shop for a couple of weeks, during which time they upgraded their computer systems and it deactivated my account, which has prevented me from using their chargers today while on a road trip from San Diego to my house. Now if the story ended there I would be providing a very different review; however, while I have been unable to use my account at their chargers, Katie has been gracious enough to have given me free charges today so that I can make it home and is looking into why my card isn't working and getting my $14.95/month plan restored to get the $0.10/min charging back for the rest of my contract's term. So while yes there are issues, they are stepping up and trying to get them resolved for me. Additionally their upgrade does now provide a system where you can log into their website and see your charging activity, etc. Hopefully this becomes an app before long for both Android and iPhone. It has also been my experience that when they do have a problem with their chargers they usually have them fixed in 24 hours, the longest I have seen them go is 72 hours before being fixed. There are some Green lots chargers in our area that haven't worked properly.in over a year and Blink chargers, it is so rare to find one working that I am honestly shocked when they do. And many of them have been broken for over three years, this is another reason EVgo deserves the 4 stars instead of the one or two that most people are leaving. read more

EVgo is expensive, but when you *really* need them, they are reliable. * One of the few fast DC chargers in south Texas * EVgo techs keep the stations in good working order and communicate it well. * Offers a wide array of *standard* plugs. J1772, CCS, Chademo. * Not ICE'ed often since they understand most EV drivers aren't looking for "front row parking", they just want to reliably charge. Normally placed in mid parking lots and non-congested areas. I wish EVgo would throw a station along the I-10 Houston / San Antonio / Austin route in Columbus, TX There is a EVSE desert out there. read more

I found I wasn't using the service so I went to change to the non-subscription plan. But what happened was that I added the non-subscription plan and I was still charged. Their site is not user friendly. Then I went to cancel the subscription plan and I got charged 25 days later. When I called they told me that they always have you pay backward -- really!! So I am stuck with another subscription plan. That said and the two times I did use it I got a great charge - but really expensive. read more

Needed customer service twice, both times got through immediately and questions were answered or issues resolved without hassle. The chargers couldn't be easier to use. EVGo has the absolute worst customer service. If you have an EV, I'd highly recommend not using their equipment. Electrify America and Greenlots has wonderful customer service. I had an issue with equipment not charging on EVGo, Greenlots, and Electrify America. I contacted them to get help. Both Greenlots and Electrify America solved the issue quickly and offered a free charge for my inconvenience. EVGo was not responsive and merely offered to give me a location where they are working, which was over 5 miles in the opposite direction of where I was going. I canceled my plan with them. I can't wait for more charging points, because EVGo really needs to "go" read more

Beware any dealings with EVGO especially if you are an employee! ---------------- On 06/27/2017 I inquired to the human resources manager Maggie Yi, on the status of a position I had recently interviewed for in Los Angeles, CA Maggie Yi asked if I had other job considerations to which she was made aware I was, indeed, considering another option. Her response was to specifically ask that I NOT take the other companies project/position until I heard from her. Her exact words were: "I would ask that you not take this other freelance project until you hear back from us." Being that she is the human resources manager one would think she has the wherewithall to not lead someone on like that without good cause. Furthermore it suggested to me I had gotten the job and was just waiting the formal details. I followed her direction and I declined the position/project from the other company I was considering. Fast forward: I did not get the job with Eygo. More unfortunately on checking back I had found the other position/project I had declined, at her request, was no longer available either. Thus, bottom line, her request is directly responsible for literally costing me thousands of dollars. All of this is documented and can be proven. While the project I declined was open ended and could have potentially brought unlimited work at this point I will only require $5,000 to settle out of court. However that amount has been rejected by their attorney Kevin Lee based on a technicality that I was not offered a job. That is NOT the point. The point is I was given a specific request by their HR manager to which I honored. And by doing so I lost out on a project / position that would have been long term freelance employment. Thus I have no other recourse than to follow through and try to recoup some of my loss in dealing with this cut throat company who refuses to be accountable. I will be retaining a lawyer and suing for up to the maximum in small claims court of $10,000. for lost wages. How any company can be so cut throat inconsiderable and unaccountable speaks volumes to the kind of company is and people who direct, manage and represent it. read more

They auto charge you $40 and then the device fails to charge or stops charging, YOU ARE OUT $40! You can call and they'll just tell you that the charge will come off and they'll only bill what charge you used. THIS IS A LIE! You call 3 times and they'll finally remove the charge.
