We had an odd experience with their food recently. We got a takeout order and by the time we discovered the problems, we were too far away from the restaurant to go back to ask them to makes the fixes. We ordered a couple of gluten-free rolls. We got one piece of gluten free focaccia. I'm not complaining at all that it was focaccia and not a roll, but we did pay for 2. One of us got shrimp Marsala. Literally, there was NO sauce in that dish. No Marsala. Not sure how that could have come out of their kitchen and made its way into the bag. The other dish we got was the veal medallions. The polenta and broccolini were delicious. Unfortunately, the veal was over cooked and dry. I was so excited to be able to go to a restaurant with such an extensive gluten-free menu, but it's just disappointing that their execution fell short. read more

was given regular pasta after ordering and explaining a gluten allergy. unfortunately as this was takeout, I didnt realize until I got really sick later. Another time, I was given a gf salad that had wheat croutons on top, and I had to send it back- luckily that one I noticed. Delicious food, great service, and great atmosphere. Also better prices then other Italian options especially for a chain. First we had the garlic bread which was fluffy with a crunch, buttery and delicious. Would def ask for a side of their warm marinara to dip. Then the Italian Street Fries, eggplant fries with a spicy mustard tartar like sauce, absolutely delicious and unique. This is our new go-to spot for date night. This weekend they had a special Valentine's day menu. The lobster risotto was amazing, as was the salmon. Service is always excellent. Just what Maynard needs to vitalize our area! This is a beautiful new space that on its first day treats you to an Italian inspired family friendly experience. First, the place definitely puts its guests first providing a safe place for great dining. I had the fish! The head bartender Leigha Marie is amazing! Friendly...quick...great memory for what her "regulars" from Westford enjoy! Highly recommend going in and treating yourself! Food: 5 stars Service dining in: 5 stars Takeout: no stars. A friend and I went to Evviva in Maynard not too long after it opened. Everything was AMAZING. But then. I ordered takeout a few weeks ago. I ordered shrimp & lobster fra diavolo, and limoncello mousse cake. I didn't look in the bag before leaving the restaurant, which was clearly a mistake. When I got home and went to take my food our, the entree was on top of the dessert.....which was in a cardboard box, so it was completely squished by my meal. My meal, which was supposed to be shrimp & lobster fra diavolo, but i as given meatball fra diavolo. Was it delicious? Yes. But the entree was not what I ordered and like I said, the dessert was squished. I was extremely disappointed. Will not be getting takeout from there again. read more

I've eaten at Evviva in Maynard a few times and I have these comments: (1) Three times I specifically ordered their Parmigiana (both chicken and veal) Sandwiches but "with no pesto" and each time it was served with pesto! Someone doesn't listen. (2) I also recently ordered Pasta E Fagioli Soup. I took took two spoon fills and it was terrible. I was told it's their recipe so I wouldn't recommend it. (3) On another occasion, my husband I had coffee (after another meal which wasn't to our liking) but it was much too strong. We finally decided we are not going back. read more

So far the food has been great. Both times we have been here. But the service today is terrible. There is 1 waitresses and a manager. The waitress is obviously new and inexperienced and over worked. She has 15+ tables and instead of the manager covering down to help she is too busy talking to her friends. That we had to clean our own plates for our apps in the bathroom sink... get our own silver wear. The apps took 40 mins to come out. Ordered a bottle of wine and it came opened... not in front of us. Our first time here and it was a great dinner. I had tasty ravioli, chicken, broc w/ cream sauce- they did not skimp on anything. My husband had the calamari, garlic bread and meatball dish. All the food tasted homemade. The portions were large and we brought home some leftovers for the next day. We were too full for dessert. Maybe next time we just come for wine and dessert? We tried to go to a local restaurant that wasn't opened and decided to go to Evviva Trattoria on recommendation from a sign posted in the window. The restaurant was almost entirely empty and we were seated at a wobbly table that seemed to have a fly infestation close by. Our appetizers came out quickly but there was clearly some confusion in the kitchen because we got a repeat order. Our entrees took almost an entire hour to come out and every single person who came in after us received their food before us. Against my better judgment I still ate my meal which was mediocre at best and I think made me sick. Definitely won't go back and can't recommend this to anyone. read more

Stopped by this past Saturday night to try it out. 730 pm a few people at the bar and a few tables taken. Was way to hot for outside seating plus their were kids screaming out there. People control your children or leave them home with a sitter. Something told me to abandon the mission and head to filhos. But we stayed... the bartender waited on us she was fine. Service was ok. Place is open looked clean.... The chicken Parm that they served me did not look like the picture on the website one bit. It was one piece of chicken with a little round pile of spaghetti that had a huge spoon sticking out of it, that actually looked awful and tasted like it was canned sauce and prince spaghetti. I have had better quality meals (chicken parm dinners ) from a food truck that have more flavor. Definitely not authentic Italian cuisine. Linguines in Marlboro has a chicken parm dinner that's half the cost twice as big and tastes like your Italian grandmother made it from scratch. I really don't see this place lasting. Food and service at Evviva in Maynard was excellent. I appreciate that they are a scratch kitchen that pays close attention to and can accommodate food allergies. The food was good, the portions normal size, but a bit price. they really need to hire more help because there was one server taking care of the entire restaurant, including the outside patio and the bar. Our food sat under the lights for about 10 minutes before she brought it over. We wanted to walk up there a couple times and just grab it ourselves. It's not her fault, and I know it's tough right now to hire help, but if they're going to have one server for the entire restaurant they should not open because all of the customers don't get the service they deserve for the price they are paying. My son and I arrived at 6:50 on a Tuesday night...we ordered a kid's meal and a chicken piccata. We finally received our meals at 7:50! We noticed that there was only one real dedicated waiter, and one bartender; it was clear that they were severely understaffed, and this for a night that is advertised as a special ("kids eat for $5"). At one point, our waiter, who was running around and in the weeds, asked me, "What did you order, again?" It was obvious at this point that he had forgot to tell the kitchen, and this was 30 min after he came by to take our order. I saw that two regulars at the bar who arrived a half hour after us were eating before we were! When the food did arrive, it was practically thrown down, and the chicken piccata was overly lemon-y and salty...not good at all. People waiting for takeout also looked peeved, and the chef was visibly shaken by the night. Hire more staff, or people just won't come back. read more

I don't normally write bad reviews, but I did not enjoy this place. It was not worth the money. I wanted to try it seeing as how it is new to Maynard. We had a reservation and sat down at 6:30. It took forever to get drinks and order food. I think we ended up ordering at 7:00. They said they would bring bread. The waitress came over to our table once to tell us it was on its way and we ordered more drinks. The bread didn't come to the table until 7:45. In the meantime they sat down a party directly behind us. I could have reached back and touched the other person's hair. We had asked another wait staff if that was safe since we were clearly not 6 feet, nor 3 feet away. (Again, I don't normally complain but this was our first time eating inside since March and we had my 76 year old MIL with us.) They ended up moving the people. Our food arrived at 8:05. My kids were starving. The food was "meh" at best. My kid's pasta looked old and there was maybe a half a cup. They also forgot his side dish but we didn't say anything. I ordered a Mediterranean wrap which was more like a gyro but way less tasty. The food was salty. I paid an extra $1.50 for the Evivva side salad instead of chips and it was a pathetic a cup of lettuce with two kalamata olives. The wait staff was friendly but barely attentive. They only came to our table a total of four times during the two hours that we were there. I could not believe the amount of time it took for our food to arrive. I know it's new and every new business has its kinks, but this is a chain restaurant. I don't mind when they're are issues but the waitstaff did not even apologize, bring more bread, or even reduce the cost. They chose to ignore the issue which is not a good sign. Go to any of the downtown Maynard restaurants instead. They are all a much better dining experience with food that tastes home cooked. read more

The online ordering doesn't work for me - I've tried several times and just keep getting a message at the end that there was a communication error and to try again later. The Maynard location needs to get their act together. We had to ask for utensils, water, & bread. We had to ask for the chips which were to come with the kids meals. The cauliflower skillet was predominately chickpeas, and didn't come until we were served the main meal. We specifically asked that it be served when the rest of the party got their salads. There were only 2 slices of the eggplant parm which were soggy and tasteless, the shrimp & lobster risotto and the balsamic braised short ribs were too salty, and the kids chicken nuggets were over cooked. The chef needs some training as the Evviva Trattoria in Marlboro was our go to restaurant. It was the worse meal we have had in a long time read more
