Hi I just wanted to thank Evviva Trattoria for a wonderful experience today. We chose Evviva Trattoria for my mother's post funeral luncheon for about 30 people. My sisters could not have been more pleased. The food was excellent with large portions. Juan and the entire staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. Everyone attending commented on the food and how good it was. We loved the long tables giving it a very family Italian atmosphere which my mom would have loved. Stopped in on a Sat nite around 5 pm. Plenty of seats at bar and restaurant empty. Should have been a clue right there. Bar staff was non existent. Took over 15 min to get a drink with no one in the place. We got bumped out of a booth with no explanation as to why. Sat down and waited again for a server ...we were seriously debating on leaving.... Finally got a drink and ordered apps. Meatball app was decent ...chips and dip was ok but the dips were sparse and chips should have been hot. Wings were ok ...Garlic cheesy bread ok but small. Entrees were a pizza that came out cold. Chicken Marsala that was ok. And chicken Parm with ziti that wasn't cooked enough. Complained to Mgr who was apologetic and explained the lack of help. Mgr did take the Parm off the bill. Mgr was basically running all over the place trying to keep everyone happy. I believe the place has a chance to make it but needs to get the help issue fixed asap. read more

We live here in town and decided to give this place a try.We really liked it and have been back many times..This particular location has an outdoor area and the dining area and bar area are spacious..The service has been wonderful.. Juan Delcid,the manager, along with his team of servers have been great..They are friendly, on point and very welcoming..The food has been consistently good...I'd definitely say check this place out! This was my second time ever at an Evviva. I honestly dont think this restaurant is for me. The husband has celiac and Evviva (owned by 110 Grille) is very accommodating to food allergies...so I want to like it. But... I just cant. I got the veal parm and had the same issue I had back in April at a different location. The breading tastes burned but, more importantly, it just falls off the meat. The pasta sauce is very acidic and salty and kind of tastes like Hunts from a can. The GF pizza was undercooked. Once we baked it more, it was decent. Toppings are sparse. Taste and consistency of the crust was ok even for me who is not GF. The pizza sauce is definitely different and better than the pasta sauce. The food/cost ratio is also a little crazy. New in town, a couple of months. Ordered on line. Eggplant parmigiana. served over spaghetti. eggplant half cooked. very hard to chew. Nothing special about the sauce, tastes like it's from a can. No bread, no napkin. They forgot the soda I ordered. I went back inside. Had to wait to get the soda. The two girls at register were very lay-back. And to top this off, they charge 6% packing fee! Just had a wonderful first dinner at the new Evviva Trattoria! Even though they've only been open a short time, the food was delish, drinks great, and Megan the bartender was busting her tail on a busy night ensuring everyone had what they needed! The chicken picatta was a HUGE portion- enough for lunch tomorrow! BF enjoyed the steak club sandwich- said the steak was cooked perfectly. Also enjoyed the sausage arrancini. Charles, the manager on duty, came over to ensure everything was to our expectations. Other servers were so kind saying hello and goodnight. They have a great TV set up to watch the Bruins and Celtics, even when seated at the bar. We will certainly be back! Great addition to Stoneham! Also editing to add a friendly reminder: Please keep in mind going to a brand new restaurant that there may be some delays and kinks but everyone is wonderful and kind! I've only done take-out, so my review is based on that only. The food was OK, but not really any better than what's available from other Italian food places in the area, notably Gaetano's and Polcari's. The real difference is the portion size. Evviva's portion sizes were tiny compared to the others. Not worth what we paid for the food. read more

Been a few times and the food is delish! This past visit the service was very slow and it wasn't that busy but we had no issues previously so will still definitely return. Stop. Don't go. I'm sad to write this, because Evviva has been much better in the past. Last Thursday, we received food roughly 4 minutes after ordering - not because the place was empty (it was) but because they pre-cooked and re-heated our food. Maybe they only do this for Gluten Free pasta orders, but we could tell because the sauce was searing hot, while the pasta underneath was lukewarm and also stiff and somehow soggy at the same time. The meatballs were a bright spot, and the server was nice and friendly, but they're cutting corners in the kitchen. Never mind the fact they've suddenly removed the balls of mozzarella cheese that used to come in the Meatballs Fra Diavolo (or maybe they kept it out just for me). Sigh. read more

New place in Stoneham, at least to us, where it has only been open for ~2-months now. The ambiance is a modern open concept casual dining, with some booths, tables for 2 or 4 (or pushed together for larger parties) and high-top tables for 2 or 4. There is also a HUGE bar area with an open kitchen, where you can especially view the large pizza oven. Typical Italian dishes with a few surprises and a great assortment of adult beverages, including both bottled and tap/drasft beer. Prices were comparable to less than competing restaurants around town. Now to the food - which is what you all want to know. 5 stars out of 5 stars! I got their steaktip salad with gorgonzola cheese and balsamic dressing and it was huge! Everything was fresh, fresh, fresh and the tips were flawless - cooked to perfection! Each was more like a small fillet mignion than a typical small/thin tip you might get elsewhere. The price here was much lower that other places and better in quality & value that I've had at alleged 'steak houses'! My lady enjoyed her gnocchis and sides of veggies that were also cooked and presented perfectly, as well as having great flavors! Let's just say ... WE WILL BE BACK! read more

Such a shame. The food is so, so good. But the service was incredibly bad. People waiting 10+ minutes to be seated and eventually seating themselves because no hostess was at the hostess stand. We had three different waitresses, none of which were friendly, and our original waitress finally asked how everything was when we were 3/4 done with our meals. Another 20+ minutes to have plates cleared and get the check, with zero acknowledgment or apology for how drawn out it was, unnecessarily. The place was half dead, it's a Wednesday. The drinks and food are the sole redeeming factor to this restaurant, but unfortunately, even though delicious, the food isn't worth the god awful service. read more

Had dinner with an old friend. A pair of unexpected and even older friends were sat next to us. Only a pole between us. We told our waiter we would like to buy them a round of drinks. He came back and said it's all set. But never told them that we purchased that round of drinks, strange, right?!?! We actually had to look at our bill, see that we paid for the round of drinks and then (embarrassingly) tell our old friends that we bought them a round of drinks and to make sure they didn't pay for it again. We got there at 5:30. We ordered a bottle of wine, one salad to share, and one meal to share it took over an hour and a half to get our simple chicken Marsala dish. I love Eva Trattoria. Little behind on reviews. Went here on January 28th to celebrate my husband's birthday and service was bad. I should have known better than to go one just opening, but it's a chain so I assumed they would have their act together. Was I wrong. Took us about an hour to get our food. While waiting for our meals the waitress asked if we wanted some rolls we said yes since we were hungry, never brought our rolls. Never updated us on the status of our meals. My mom's mac & cheese was supposed to be with bacon, but the waitress wrote chicken. When my mom said something they brought a side of bacon. My meal was delivered a few minutes after my families was but by time I got my dinner. I just wanted to leave, so I just got a to go box. When I got the bill the charged us for chicken on the mac & cheese instead of bacon I asked the waitress if they were the same price, that was wrong chicken was more of an up charge. Tried this restaurant for the first time, our waitress was lovely, and the food came out in a timely manner. My husband and I had lunch there, we were greeted by a lovely hostess. Decided to sit in bar area Which was a mistake. The poor bartender was waiting on the entire bar and seating area, so service was spotty. We were leaving as he realized he never brought my husband his second beer. The food was delicious and expertly cooked, but portion sizes were small for the money. My husband's chicken parmigiana panini was tiny. He was still hungry when we left! Four at the table we all got the Wednesday special. The food is not very good. In fact it will embarrass Italian chefs and mothers. The presentation was like you would serve a three year old at a supper table. Almost like served in a bowl. I've been to the Stoneham location of ET 4 times now. I really want to love this place. The bar is beautiful - spacious, comfortable, and quiet enough to actually have a conversation with the people you are with. But my experiences have been hit or miss. I was there last night and ordered the salmon because I had it the first time I visited and it was excellent then. I ordered the fish medium-rare and it was served extremely well done. My server ordered another piece which arrived as my company was finishing her meal. And it was still overdone. Not as bad as the first time, but still definitely not medium-rare. In the meantime, we ordered the "lemon twist martini" that was on the specials menu and on the display over the bar. The restaurant was not very full, nor was the bar, but the drinks took forever to get and were wrong. What we got was a water glass full of ice with lemonade, I'm guessing some vodka, and soda. There was nothing in the ingredient list that would suggest the drink would be fizzy and we expected a martini (up, not on the rocks!). The server took them back and they were taken off the bill, but the salmon was not. There were two servers on and they were running all over the place. They clearly don't have "zones" for their servers, so that causes delays. I really hope they can work out their 'kinks' because it is a nice restaurant, they just added a nice outdoor area, and the bar is great. But if the bartenders and cooks can't do their job, none of that matters. read more

First time here, but unfortunately it was a disappointment to us both. The lemonade was very weak; no flavor. The side Caesar salad was not great either. We had 2 different pizzas, mine had ricotta and pesto on it. The issue was that it was undercooked on the bottom of crust. Not sure if it was because there was so much on the pizza itself. My wife and I tried Evviva Trattoria for the first time tonight. We started with the chips and dip. The chips were excellent. The dips they came with were not our favorite. However we both really liked our dinners. I got the chicken and broccolini alfredo and my wife got the vegetable risotto. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the alfredo sauce had a ton of flavor. Comfortable atmosphere and good service, but only one distraction for me, the music being played. It's an Italian restaurant, It would be nice to hear some nice Italian songs once in awhile, and not loud music from the 70's, which I like, but not while eating.
