I would give it a negative 5 if I could. DO NOT GO HERE! My son tested for Moraxella catarrhalis after they sent the lab in over a week and never notified us. We had to go chase them down back and forth until they were able to get me the results. Now my daughter has issues and my son had this bacteria for almost 2 weeks. They neglect you and even told us my son wasn't contagious! They tried to cover their asses by telling us the doctor is out on vacation for a month but we saw him when we went to get the prescription. Must be a DEI hire run clinic here. read more

I would give absolutely zero stars if that was an option. Although the name of this place is Excel Urgent Care, there is nothing urgent about this place. I went there 2 days ago because my 4 year old daughter was stung by a Puss Caterpillar also known as an Asp (never heard of this insect until this happened) which is a venomous caterpillar that causes intense throbbing pain, burning and intense discomfort. When I first walked in, there was no one at the front desk. I had to stand there a few mins, before someone came to the front. Once I explained why I was there, the woman at the front requested my insurance, which I provided. She then needed me to fill out 8 pages of information. During the entire time, my daughter was hysterically crying and clearly in severe pain. About 20 mins go by and the lady at the front desk let me know that they can't approve my insurance and I will have to pay $180 to be seen. At this point I didn't care, I just wanted my daughter to get help. After I gave her my credit card, I asked her how much longer it would be until we were seen, was it going to be 5, 10, 15 mins? She wasn't sure. There was no one else parked in the parking lot or in the waiting area at that time so I was not sure what was going on. About 10 mins later (daughter still crying and in a lot of pain) we are finally called to the back. Another lady proceeds to get my daughters weight, height etc...she clearly see's a child in severe discomfort and offers nothing. I am holding her at this point to console her and my daughter does not want to get out of my arms, but this lady shows little to no concern as she proceeds to motion to me to put her down to get her height and weight etc. After this, she leads me to a room and another 20-30 mins go by and nothing! At this point, I had enough, I got up, walked out of the room and requested a refund. No one seemed to care or have any sense of urgency for a child who was really having a hard time. I would caution anyone who needs urgent care to come here. They are extremely slow, even when they aren't busy and they show no concern for children in need, I can only imagine how they would treat an adult in need. After I left, I immediately went to Texas Children's Urgent Care in which I was immediately greeted, my daughter was given pain medicine within a few mins and we were seen within 20 mins. Also, the cost was $30 and they didn't have a problem figuring out my insurance. All the while, there were other people in the waiting area and occupying the patient rooms. The nurses tried to help but you can tell their hands were tied and had to follow the doctors orders. I paid $300 for them just to tell me to go to another doctor. Very Incompetent heath care provider. I had a busted lip that required stitches and Angela the DNP knew how to stitch but did a messy job. As a healthcare provider, you are suppose to use dissolvable stitches for cuts such as your lip but she didn't want to use it because she couldn't see where she was suturing because they were clear. The whole time in my procedure, she kept asking herself hmm maybe I need another stitch, I think you need more. Wow this is tricky I'll just stitch this and see if it works. Suturing is suppose to be an art as in an organized pattern. Her sutures were literally all over the place. Angela could've prevented from scaring but due to her lack of incompetence she didn't understand. Curious where she got her license to be a DNP but I rather see a physician or a PA. read more

I first want to say that the office staff is amazing. And very personable. But this review is for the doctor. I have been seeing DR Hekerem for two months now due to a severe work injury. Since day 1 the doctor has undermined my injury as well as the physical therapists reports of my injury. He is not compassionate, and does just enough to get by. Not once has this do to felt any of my injuries, or offered any type of help at all, at the end of my therapy, my PT recommended seeing a specialist as no change had occurred, the doctor sent the complete opposite to my job and approved my back to work even though I'm in the same condition i was in 2 months ago. I got a Covid test 9 days ago and still haven't gotten results. They tell you is curbside testing so you fill all the forms before getting there and they even ask you car color, model and make and when you get there you have to go in the office anyway so there is actually NO CURBSIDE testing. You don't call curbside having a table to test outside in the heat. Calling the office is another hurdle to jump. I've called 5-10 times just to talk to someone. read more

Very poor customer service. Took my niece who feel down a flight of stairs. She was nauseous . They refused to see her without a credit card on file. I never leave a credit card on file. Had to call the corporate office. They said I had to pay 145.00 even thought the co pay is 25.00. They would refund my money later. I had this place real highly based on the customer service I've received. So I recommended this place to my mother because of her horrible experience at Concentra and the workers como case she has. She requested a provider change and I called twice to ask all the questions that are needed I even came in person. I was told they do accept transfers and told them everything. The nice lady took my information and said she would call me the next day if they would accept my mother. The following day she called me at the time she said she would and told me everything was set and that provider only needed notes from her old provider. Today (3 days after the phone call) I come in to provide all paperwork and I get told they do not accept cases. Everything totally different putting me back to square one and wasted my time. Excel urgent care is my go to for emergency care. My family and I have been there several times this year. Dr. Hekerem and his staff are highly professional. The facility is clean and sterilized after each patient. They will attempt to the best of their knowledge and ability to diagnose your medical situation and then recommend follow up appointments as necessary. This is an emergency treatment facility... Not a GPs office. For those reviewers giving one star because he didn't cure cancer within an hour shame on you. For other reviewers giving one star because he treated your symptoms and then asked you to follow up with your general practitioner... Also shame on you. That is standard practice. For those reviewers who gave one star because you had to pay more than a dollar for your treatment... Shame on you. If you want medical treatment for a dollar, I suggest you go to elsewhere. Some Third World country might do. I was in there waiting to see the doctor when a woman came in with a bogus insurance card. And she threw an absolute fit when the facility wouldn't see her without her paying a small fee to do so. Completely wrong, in a very wrong way with a diagnosis of a simple injury. So wrong in fact my PCP laughed when I told them what this doc told me. Can you believe that? I will definitely never see that doctor, or this place, ever again. They do rotate doctors, so if you get sick or hurt, do it on a good day. The waiting room was empty and it took over an hour to be seen like others experienced. They have signs in the patient rooms that read "why am I waiting" with a bunch of BS nonsense to explain why you are waiting. My family was in town and their family member back home tested positive for Covid. I took them there to get tested because I had been there with no problems. This time was terrible. The front desk lady, I think was Wanita. She was rude, like I was bothering her. Over the phone I could not hear her. In person she never once looked up from her computer at me. Took my mom here for dizziness and vomiting. She explained that she could hear fluid in her right ear. The doctor said that he's not an ear specialist and couldn't find the culprit of her symptoms, so prescribed meds for dizziness. He advised that she wait 10 days to follow up with her PCP. Thankfully I had her set a follow up appt with her PCP 3 days later - turns out that she has a really bad ear infection. The wait time wasn't horrible and it was fairly clean however the doctor I saw was very disappointing. I have Hyperemesis gravidarum. I'm pregnant and I was puking 15-20 times a day. It's common to go get fluids for dehydration so I went to urgent care for fluids because I was avoiding the emergency room. Basically the doctor said I "wasn't sick enough" and in his country the women just puked. He then explained how he refused to give me fluids. He also prescribed the lowest dose of Zofran (an anti-nausea medication which I've taken before) and told me to tough it out. I was already on meds and my situation was far more serious and deserved a better response. I was floored at his handling of my situation. I explained this to my OB and was told that she's never heard of a doctor treating a patient like this. I'll never go back for ANYTHING and wouldn't recommend this place at all. read more

Brought my husband here because he was ill. Waited over an hour to be seen and there was only one person here when we arrived at 1:40pm. We waiting until 3:15 before he was even taken back. There were other people who came in after us and left before he was even taken back. They didn't do any blood work to see what is wrong with him, just said had a stomach bug and gave him a shot for the nausea and antibiotics for the "unknown infection". His blood pressure was also high but they let him go without even making sure it was at a lower half way normal level. Then another reviewer complains "doctor was lecturing her on hypertension." Well if you are under 30 with hypertension .... you need a medical professional to EDUCATE you about what to do and not to do. Doctors aren't just going to give you meds because you are demanding them. Another reviewer gave them 2 stars because "they were out of coffee cups". Really?? So ... this is NOT an emergency room. It is an urgent care location. They see patients in order of the severity of their illness / injury akin to an ER. A receptionist .... any receptionist .... their job is NOT to coddle and babysit you. You are an adult. Communication is a 2 way street. If they are out of coffee cups .... ask if there are more. The receptionist does. NOT actively know what is going on in the back of this facility. She is the receptionist NOT the doctor. If you present with a known issue ... hypertension .... and you have continually had that issue .... the doctor's job is to educate you about what you should and should not be doing. If you don't want a professional medical opinion ... good or bad ... don't go see a doctor. Anywhere. Now .... my review: I first found this location when I, for the first time in my life ... had strep throat. Waited about a 35 minutes to get in. Triaged. Saw doctor, got meds and out in about an hour, 15 minutes total. Second time was when I stepped on a nail while at a construction site. It was a Sunday evening. Around 7 pm. Was brought back right away to soak my foot in a medical wash. Dr. H came in and checked on my progress every now and again. He thoroughly inspected my foot. We discussed antibiotics and importance of same and taking them for the entire course. He advised of what behavior was acceptable until it was healed (no swimming, no hot tub). Left around 9 pm ... right before close. Had a physical with my GP .... Vit D level was less than 20. WAY off. He was complacent about how to fix. "Just take OTC supplements". "At your age, it's probably an absorption issue". This was my GP for 18 years who was now routinely becoming complacent with my medical needs. I knew at my age Vit D is integral for health. So .... decided to head to Dr H at Excel to discuss. He spent about 10 minutes reviewing my results. He agreed that at my age OTC supplements weren't going to get my level back over the minimum of 30. So I received a script for Vit D therapy for over 10 weeks from Dr. H. With a suggestion to follow up after 10 week course was over. My level is now over 56. No absorption issue!! Today, I was weed eating. Safety glasses. Gloves. All the protective equipment. While I was pruning a large climbing rose bush. Another branch that was wedged under the one I was holding .... snapped up and got me under my safety glasses right into my right eye. Immediately went inside and flushed. Iris was obviously injured. It was 6:50 pm. Knew Excel closed at 9 pm. Headed that way. Dr. H was on duty that evening. A few people ahead of me. I waited about 30 minutes. No issue for me. With the virus around now .... all employees are masked and gloved. Happy to see that. Everything in my room had been wiped down. Dr. H came in. Irrigated my eye again. Put in numbing meds to get me out of pain so that he could see the iris. Used a special light to see the iris once numbing med kicked in. Bad scratch on Iris. He educated me on the importance of eye protection ... which I had used. Could have been worse without it. I explained how I thought about letting it go for a day to see how it was in 24 hours. But thought better of it. He educated me on the fact that the Iris is the highway directly to the back of the eye. And if an infection would have been allowed to set in ... would be dangerous risk of my eye health and vision. After about an hour and half from arrival, wait and visit .... headed home with a script for eye antibiotic ... that Dr H had electronically sent to Walgreens. Dr H. And Excel is now my go to for everything medical. Annual physicals. Routine Vit D check up. And emergencies. I know they work long 12 hour days ... opening at 9 am and closing at 9 pm. This is NOT a spa where you should expect people to wait on you. It is an urgent care location. That has fixed, known and advertised hours. Compared to heading to hospital ER ... the cost and wait of same (several hours at best), this is best viable alternative available. Please don't allow those individuals reviewing "no coffee cups", "treated in an hour" keep you from Excel. I dumped my complacent GP of 18 years for Excel. ALL relationships are a 2 way street. read more
