Pretty disappointed in these guys. While they were great in the beginning, for the last few years they have been completely unresponsive. They have blown off appointments to service our heating (which they installed) and air conditioning, and now they don't respond to phone calls. We are 13 miles from Santa Rosa so not a horrible drive for service. read more

We just had Anthony's team install a heat pump in our house that gives us the ability to use both heat/air on one system. We decided to go with a heat pump as it's run off electricity as well as gives us the upper hand when we want to install solar panels. It is already such a game changer having a centralized system installed in our home. They quickly installed the unit from our attic space and updated our panel to support the new system. The team was amazing and incredibly nice. They were also extremely respective of distancing (due to covid). Every day they made it a point to clean up and take all their tools with them, we ended up telling them to leave it in our garage since they were returning the next day and figured it would be easy for them. I can't say enough about these guys! For pricing, these guys are very reasonably priced. I ended up requesting quotes from 10 different vendors ( I know im crazy) and these guys came easily 10-15k different than the other vendors I don't know why we didn't have them install sooner, but we are extremely happy clients! Local guy and AMAZING SERVICE!!! I can't say enough great things about the entire operation from the receptionist to the work performed! I realized at about 8 pm on Sunday December15th, 2013 that cold air was coming out of the vents and the heat pump was making a LOT of noise. The air ouside was hoovering at 30 and inside was under 65. The next morning I called around the area (Bennett Valley) to get service. After no less than 10 calls I was cold and distraught to find Santa Rosa heating companies booked thru January. I expanded my yelp search and found Excellent Heating in Rohnert Park. They showed up around 10 am and within 15/20 minutes found that a bad capacitor wasn't supplying the juice needed to operate the fan for our heat pump. We were fixed and up in running with a few hours of our call for help....AND I could afford the repair bill without maxing out a line of credit! Would definitely recommend and will call for any future service!!! read more

I can't begin to tell you how pleased I am to have selected Excellence Heating and Air to install an air conditioning unit in my home. Excellence was recommended by a neighbor who told me Anthony is the best and I couldn't agree more. I had recently installed solar panels and wanted to install air conditioning to take advantage of the solar energy produced. I hadn't mentioned the solar panels to Anthony and when he and his team arrived with the air conditioning unit he noticed the panels and suggested I'd be better served by a heat pump unit which, in addition to air conditioning, could assist with producing heat during the cold months. This meant Anthony had to return the air conditioning unit and order the heat pump, which took considerable additional time and energy on his part. A less honest and considerate individual would have said nothing and installed the air conditioning unit and gone on to the next project. I think this says a lot about Anthony and Excellence Heating and Air. I would not hesitate to give Excellence my very highest recommendation. read more

When we bought our newly constructed home in 1991 we opted not to have A/C installed to save money. The mild climate in Norcal was another reason. Still living here in 2017 the climate has changed as has my age which can no longer tolerate the more frequent heat waves. I decided it's time to have A/C installed. I chose Excellence as the contractor due to their great reviews, excellent pricing and the good feeling I had dealing with Anthony during the estimate stage. I also wanted the Trane brand because of the quality and to match my furnace. Anthony and Rob were able to install the A/C, get the HERS rater to come all in one day and the HVAC system passed without any problems. My 35 year old Coleman Furnace died. I interviewed 4 heating and cooling companies. Two of them said I would have to replace both the heating and air. There is nothing wrong with the air compressor (only 7 years old). One said that I could just replace the furnace and use the old coil. Anthony with Excellence recommended keeping the air condenser and replacing the furnance, coil, and adding a new valve that would increase the efficiency of my air condenser and all at a reasonable price with everything detailed on what he would be replacing and doing. Not so with the other big companies. I was impressed with him from the begining, he was the only one who wrote down all the details of what I currently had installed and he explained everything to be clearly. Our old, crappy, dead dishwasher was just removed and a new one installed by Dalton, from Adobe Appliance. Our entire experience dealing with this place was wonderful. The phone conversations to set up the install were clear, polite, and minus any drama. Dalton showed up within the scheduled time period, got right to work and did the job efficiently and easily. He was very organized, didn't leave tools and garbage everywhere (as I've seen done so many other times by other installation/maintenance folks), and was very on the ball. He showed me a piece that had been installed with the old dishwasher before we moved in, and told me about how that kind of piece should not be used and didn't need to be there, in a way that was easy to understand for a non-mechanical person. I had a new furnace installed almost two weeks ago by Anthony and Dalton. Over the course of two days, they removed the old one (a monster), installed the new one, reattached broken ducts going every which way under the house, and re-insulated many of them. In the course of their work, they discovered that duct segments had long ago been attached with tape (bad idea) and they took it upon themselves to reattach with hardware. I had interviewed at least five furnace companies and decided to take a chance with these guys, the last on my list, because Anthony's willingness to go the full distance in order to make it right was impressive, even the moreso because he is so young. Nothing has boosted my faith in the younger generation more than this duo, including their competence, knowledge and skill, their readiness to stand by their work, and their willingness to leave no stone unturned (in making the system as efficient as possible). Maybe I'm writing too soon and should give the system a season to "warm up" (so to speak), but truth be told, I am very satisfied and highly recommend this company if you need a new furnace. read more

We wanted to replace, upgrade and relocate our heating and A/C units. We solicited 5 bids. I have to say, Anthony, at Excellence, is terrific. He came by, about 15 minutes late but called to let me know. When he arrived he spent about an hour reviewing what we had , what I wanted, where I wanted it and how I wanted things to be when the job was completed, (I'm very picky and specific about how I want things) (I've been in the hardware business over 35 years and own my own Ace Store over 24 years. (Parsons Lumber and Hardware). Anthony was very understanding about how I wanted things, did all he could to measure and lay out exactly where and how I wanted things to look. His patience is commendable. His bid came in right in the middle, equally above the lowest and below the highest. We signed a contract and set a date. He told me 2 men, 3 days. They arrived at the time and day arranged. Worked long days, 9 to 6/6:30. It took 2 men 4 days, making sure at all times that everything met my wants, no comment at any time about the 4th day needed to meet the agreed to completed job design and specs. I would only hope that any future contractor I might deal with in the future has the expertise and integrity of Anthony and his crew, who by the way were just nothing short of commendable, were more than I could have hoped to employ to do ANY job I would have done in my home. This is a youngish guy who recently bought the business he worked for and is making a go of it in a bad market by offering competence, honesty, and a good ethical slant on the business. He is on time, pleasant, and careful. I had been given a diagnosis of a blown bearing in a noisy heating unit. SAs he took apart the unit, he clarified the situation as a poorly fit input filter. The motor was fine. Cost for the diagnosis and excellent advice-nothing. All I need to do is get a new air filter. When I do replace or change this unit, or add air, this is my guy. I recently bought a house in Novato and needed to have air conditioning installed in addition to some drainage work done under the house.
