We recently replaced our gas furnace with a Mitsubishi heat pump from Enviro and couldn't be happier. From beginning to end, every staff member was courteous, knowledgable, punctual, efficient and friendly including Jason, Christian, Jake, and Alex. Jason gave us a fair price and shared excellent advice in response to my questions about our internet. We ultimately upgraded to a mesh network to ensure trouble free operation of our HVAC system from the Comfort app on our phones. One bonus from the network upgrade was that it solved a connection issue we'd been having with our Moen flo meter. Since the weather's been mostly mild we haven't used the heat pump a lot yet, but the times we turned it on, it ran quietly and kept the house cool. After living here for 27 years without air conditioning, that was a real treat! If you're considering getting a heat pump, I recommend getting at least 5 or 6 bids, and make sure one of them is from Enviro Heating and Air Conditioning. read more

We worked with Enviro for a brand new heat pump and mini-split HVAC system on our 1948 house (we only had a gas fireplace insert for heat). Enviro helped us to plan our project from start to finish without over-selling us products. We were happy with the entire install team being professional, friendly, and considerate of our needs of working from home while they did the needed construction. The team-lead was very thorough with explaining each day to me, instructing his crew, clean-up each day and returning to inspect a question. Back in 2011 I replaced my wall furnace with Enviro. Their price was competitive and quick with their scheduling. After the wall furnace was replaced, within a week had developed an igniting issue. Would not fire up. After numerous calls and visits, I believe 6 in all over the next year of which the furnace was in operative over 6 months. In 2017, the furnace developed the same issue. The tech insisted the gas valve needed to be replaced, so it was done. No sooner they pulled out of the drive way, the heater failed to fire up. Another visit, insisted it was another part in the unit that was bad. Again after they pulled out of the driveway again.... The next call, the tech insisted it was the wire from the thermostat in the wall to the heater. Another fail and another visit needed. The thermo stat was relaced, again, another visit needed. Igniter was replaced and other parts revisited. They found the problem in the wiring down on the bottom of the unit. Well it fired up for the next 4 years until now. PG&E came into my house and inspected the unit. Shooting a yellow flame and sending carbon monoxide into my house. This unit has been just a nightmare from beginning to now it's end. I don't even want this unit repaired again. read more

Finally, an HVAC company that is focused on more than just price! I wanted to replace my aging furnace before it failed and left me in the cold. Shopping is sport to me so I contacted 7 different companies to quote on furnace replacement. The first three, Ongaro, Moore and Sears all quoted about the same, insanely over priced charge to replace my existing furnace with a high efficiency, single stage unit. I priced the replacement products and was totally shocked at what the three companies wanted to charge me for labor to install. Their labor rates worked out to almost $800 per hour! Furnace replacement is NOT rocket science. Enviro's quote was about 25% LESS than the other guys. And they were the only company that was offering flexibility to me regarding my purchase decision. And the actual install time line was much quicker than initially promised. I'm a big fan of under promise and over deliver! The install staff arrived on time (crucial to me) acted in a very professional manner, and worked hard and non stop to get the job done. They even refused my offer to buy them lunch and just kept at it. They were also very respectful of me and my home. Other good stuff about Enviro is that they're family owned and local. There were a couple of glitches in dealing with the office staff, buy hey, nobody's perfect. If you need HVAC work, give Enviro a call, I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

Christ Street is an honest company owner and cares about his company and his customers, and his prices are fair. He sells Mitsubishi heat pumps, the most reputable equipment. I had a pretty large and complex job - with 8 internal heat pump heads and 2 exterior units, with limited spaces in which to run the lines needing to go from heads to exterior units. Unfortunately, some of his crew wasn't very experienced with the installation of these units, and the lines that are installed and buried in the walls. I think some of it was turnover in his staff. I wouldn't have noticed the problems with their installations, but my excellent general contractor spotted the problems and pointed them out, again and again. Without that oversight, I think that faulty work would have been installed in my walls, some of which would eventually have led to leaks or electrical shorts. Maybe these things would have been caught by my local inspectors, but probably not, because the inspectors are not yet really knowledgeable about heat pump installations. Also, communication among the members of Chris' team were confusing, with people not receiving information that other people said that they sent. In the end, everything is good. But it took too many tries, and too much finger pointing between my company and his, and among his own employees for it to be a satisfying experience. I think that over time, Chris will stabilize his crew and train everyone, and things will go much more smoothly. But until then, I would proceed with caution, especially if you don't know what a properly installed heat pump system should look like. read more

Bait and switch and excessive markup. Talked to their dispatcher twice and a tech once before scheduling a visit. Was quoted about $350 but they added a $125 service diagnostic fee after showing up despite me telling them I needed a new thermostat. The thermostat retailed for about $70, so they made over $400 on me for a 30 minute job. I have no problem with marking things up reasonably, but this was not reasonable. read more

Unreliable company. My wife was scheduled to meet with Chis for an estimate of replacing a wall heater, but Chris didn't show up. My wife called him numerous times, but he didn't return her calls. Thereafter my wife called the Enviro Heating office and spoke with a lady there who didn't seem to care much that Chis hadn't shown up for his appointment. This lady instructed my wife that the cost for installing a wall heater would be $1900 -- without having performed an inspection and without having provided an estimate. Buyer beware. read more

I had a problem with heating in my house about a few years ago. I called and they said that they can come take a look. A man came and told me the diagnostic fee. I told him that was not the same price that the lady told me over the phone. He looked at me if I was stupid and asked me if I was "okay" because that he didn't come all the way across town to charge a small diagnostic fee. It turned out it was just a minor issue with my thermostat and charged me more than $300 to repair it. Very disappointed that I wasted so much money on a diagnostic fee and repair fee on something so minor. I should have told him to leave my property immediately when he told me the ridiculous diagnosis fee to save more than $300. Very disappointed. read more

Every step of the process was on time efficient with excellent communication this include the the bid the installation and all inspection. I was present for the final City inspection. The inspector was trilled with the quality of the work and pointed out all the hidden details that were included which he said he often does not see. I want to give a shout-out to Jason the estimator who was very helpful in explaining the equipment options and helping us make the correct decisions. The installers Tyler and Mario were efficient and very personable. Jason was responsible for meeting both the technician for the duct test and the city inspector. Air conditioning crapped out this weekend. I called first thing this morning (monday) and Lori said they would have someone out by 4pm ish. I suppose I could ask for the tech to hit closer to the projected time, but "stuff happens" & they kept me informed of the delay, Alex showed up. pleasant and professional, resolved my issue promptly, changed my filter and got my system chilling properly in a flash! Terrible experience! My 95 year old mother's friend made an appt. for her to get a "free" estimate on her A/C that wasn't cooling as well as expected. It took the guy 5 minutes to check it out and then tell us it needed more Freon and it would cost about $FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS!!! Or he could replace it with a new unit for about $5000. Both options were not possible on her fixed income but she was charged $85.00 for the bad news. When I called the office on a Friday to ask why they charged her, the so-called "secretary" said the "free estimate" is only if they do the repairs! After telling her my mom didn't expect this she said she would go ahead and refund the money but it would be Monday before she could send it, I said that was fine and thanked her . . .several weeks later I called to find out why the check never came and the SAME GIRL said "I didn't say that" and rudely snickered under her breath! How UNPROFESSIONAL she was as she LIED to me and then refused to refund the money! My mother and I both promise to forever give them "FREE" advertisement . . . Hope it was worth it! The elder abuse and lying was inexcusable. SHAME ON YOU!!! read more

Received this referral thru Ho** Advi**r...unfortunately, the office support person did not communicate job details to the service tech accurately. I got no follow-up call regarding the repair work, nor did I receive an invoice. I called 48 hours later and asked for both when it was determined that the work had not been performed as I had requested. Her response was defensive and hostile; to date, I have never talked to the tech, nor has an invoice been delivered. Other details: the wall furnace pilot light went out 4 hours after the repairs were made and still doesn't work; a CO detector was installed w/o consulting me first. read more
