Nice guys, but some room for improvement. Was a little bit of a snafu as I thought the 3 movers would arrive at 5. It was drizzling and I figured they were running a bit late due to the inclement weather. I thought to give the company a call in which I was told by the gentleman on the phone that he stated in the email "Starting between 5 and 7" and that customers always get confused....then how about changing the verbiage to something like "arrival within a window of 5 and 7? That would make more sense and save you the issue of miscommunication. Also just a bit annoyed that while my dresser was PARTIALLY wrapped, I had to watch it go crashing to the floor as one of the gentlemen lost his grip upon reaching the ground floor. If it was too heavy then why lift on your own when you have the help of 2 other colleagues? The addition of time, prolonged from a double parked driver added to the headache, but little was done to try to figure out a strategy to locate the driver or call the number at the side of the van, as the consistent honking did nothing to help. Once all was moved in, I was handed paperwork to sign. I understand the job is tiring and you want to leave upon completion, but rushing the client through paperwork that they need to read isn't a good look. If it is too long of a document, send it to the client beforehand to read, to expedite the process. I was just kind of exhausted from the whole thing and signed despite my damaged dresser. I am thankful, but just a bit disappointed. read more

They showed up three hours late. Refused to use any of our boxes. Took much longer to show up at our destination than we did (also driving)- which ended up costing us more. And the kicker- they damaged our handmade bed (the whole reason we hired movers was for the bed). I would never, ever recommend them. Ever. Oh, and I hate to say this, but they smelled terrible- I couldn't be in the same room with any of the movers because their body odor was so terrible. Even after they left a room, the smell lingered. We had to open all the windows in our new apartment to air it out after they unloaded. read more

I liked that they offer very good pricing, and they were very responsible in confirming the move a couple of days before and arriving on time. What I do not like is their lack of transaparency. Even though I did my reservation 15 days in advance, they only showed me a contract addendum the day of the move that you need to sign for them to start working Among other things you need to sign that if they damage the building while moving your stuff, they have no economic responsibilities, that if they break anything made of manufactured wood they are not responsible. Not leaving much leverage for negotiation when you already have everything planned for the move that day. So if your thinking of hiring them do not repeat my mistake and ask them to send all paperwork before you agree to hire them. read more

I was incredibly impressed with Excellent Quality Movers and would recommend them to anyone moving in the New York City area. A friend referred me to the company after his recent move, and after my initial inquiry I found that their hourly rates and travel time costs were cheaper than the other companies that I was researching. After booking my appointment, Excellent Quality Movers emailed me to confirm my appointment and checked in again the day before my move. I hired four men with one large truck to move out of my fourth-floor walk-up one bedroom apartment in Astoria into a second floor apartment, also in Astoria. The guys arrived ten minutes early ready to go and got to work right away. They assessed the apartment upon arrived and devised a system to get my 50+ boxes downstairs and to the truck in a timely fashion. They also helped me pack my remaining items into boxes with plenty of paper wrapping and tape. The crew did a great job wrapping all of my wooden furniture, flat screen TV, and couch and all of my pieces arrived in excellent condition once they were unpacked in the new space. They also helped me take apart and reassemble my bed frame and floor lamps. My move was completed quickly within four hours and all of the paperwork was easy to understand and sign off on. After my move, I realized that some small parts to one of my lamps were missing. I called right away and after a few phone calls back and forth the pieces were found in the back of the truck. I was so impressed that Sergei tracked the pieces down and offered to ship them to me. Honestly, it was above and beyond what was expected. Absolutely spectacular. I moved May 15th from a 4th floor to a 3rd floor, and they weren't concerned about the number of flights, number of boxes, etc. I am in Real Estate, and have an extensive list of people in our database to call for moving services, but looked up "cheap movers nyc" on Google and found these guys. The prices were scary because they were quoting me 50-70% off what I was hearing from FlatRate Movers and a lot of other "cheap" movers. The low price made me nervous, but I went ahead with it because all of these reviews were so good. I packed everything up 100% on my own, and had it all ready to go for them. They took my bed frame apart, and had everything out of my apt in under 30 minutes. The speed they were going was nerve-wrecking because I was sure they would be breaking/scratching things. This was not true. They got to my new place, placed everything where I asked, put my bed back together (the wrench I had didn't work last-minute, so I was glad they brought one) and never complained or asked for anything. I offered water/soda twice and they didn't want it. Very gracious, very nice guys. They moved me in under the time I was quoted, and was HAPPY to pay the 2-hour minimum and have them be done early. Notes: -They make you nervous when they tell you you are liable for the payment of any parking ticket they may incur, but they were so fast I can't imagine them getting ticketed. They did not get ticketed during my move. -Pack everything yourself, and have it ready. They were on-time within 2 minutes of the "earliest time" in my move window. This is where people waste time and money. -TIP THEM WELL, and pay CASH. Remember, you are saving about 50-70% off the next cheapest movers, and these guys were fast - plus there is an up-charge for paying with Credit Card, and you have to give them notice that you are paying credit. No scratches, no tickets, nothing broken. I have nothing but good things to say and I have already recommended them to 2 people I found apartments for that are moving June 1. read more

I dont do review enough myself, but had such a good experience with these guys that i had no choice! They were fantastic! I have used a few difference movers in NYC over that last couple years and they were all ok. The other movers were usuall late, but got the job done. These guys were early, heald a spot for my truck and packed a one bedroom in just over an hour! And it was packed for a 200 mile drive and didn't move one bit! Moving sucks. Everyone knows it - doesn't matter if you're moving to a brighter future or a better adventure, the process blows. For a while, you can bribe an army of friends with beer and pizza, but, at some point, you're going to need professional movers. And in the city, those movers should definitely be EQ. EQ rocks. From terrific prices to efficient hustle, these guys made our move hassle-free. We'd gotten quotes from several companies - all well over a grand and out of our budget. EQ offered a flat rate and an hourly rate, and, based on the list of possessions we provided, tried to estimate how long it would take to complete job. John (at the office) advised that time began from the moment the guys arrived, so timing would depend on how well packed and organized we were. (Note: Two chicks with OCD and access to unlimited boxes meant we'd have everything load-ready on move day.) While the flat rate was completely reasonable, we opted for the hourly rate (under $100), gambling on them finishing the job within six hours. The team - George, Alex, Peter and Roman - showed up a half hour early to snag parking, setup operations and assess the situation. Then the hustle began. And didn't stop until 4 and 1/2 hours later when the job was done. These guys were all business. No smoke breaks. No stretching the job out. We had to insist that they take a small lunch break! They moved us from a second floor walkup to a fourth floor walkup, from a two bedroom to a three bedroom apt - both in Brooklyn. That included lugging a couch, a china hutch, a dining room table, four chairs, six bookshelves, a bed, a dresser, 2 AC units, a filing cabinet, and about 100 boxes (most of them books) up the most narrow and twisting stairwells in the borough. Everything arrived in perfect condition, and the guys even put furniture and boxes in the rooms we requested. When George went over the final numbers with us, tallying the hourly rate and travel time, the whole move was right at $450. He non-aggressively advised on the tip amount, and was surprised that we had already budgeted for it. (C'mon, people, if there was ever anyone who deserved a hefty tip, it's a haul-your-shit-across-town-so-you-don't-have-to dude.) After the nightmares I've lived through with previous moving companies, I was so relieved to find these guys here on Yelp. Based on everyone's reviews, I decided to take a chance, and I was not disappointed. From the very first e-mail, Sergei was polite, quick to respond, and honest about prices. I liked that we dealt through email, which shows he's not afraid to have a written record of his prices. On the day of the move, the team of 4 men, led by Alex, showed up 1/2 hour early! Some may find that irritating, but with a long day ahead, I truly appreciated it. Alex, the foreman, walked me through the apartment and asked about everything to be moved. He warned me beforehand of extra charges for fragile items and gave me the option to transport the smaller ones on my own to avoid those costs. He has a bright personality and a great sense of humor, which takes away some of the stress of the day. His crew was polite and very friendly as well. These men WORK! My two bedroom apartment was emptied in less than 2 hours! They worked quickly and efficiently AND CAREFULLY to avoid breakage. I can honestly say not a single thing broke during the move! They unloaded the truck in less than 1.5 hours and tried their best to shimmy large items through small doorways without causing damage to anything. They also bent over backwards to make sure my refrigerator was assembled correctly. All in all, move came out to less than $700 for almost 5 hours of HARD work and courtesy (not including the amount for tip here). I can't say enough good things about these guys! read more

In short, these guys were great. Stop calling other companies. Hire them for your move, full stop. They showed up right on time, knocked out a 1 bedroom apartment in LESS THAN 2 HOURS (loading and unloading, both 3rd floor walk-ups, including travel-time from the West Village to Chelsea), took great care of all of my stuff, and even dropped off several very nice, large donation items to Housing Works after they were done at my new place (I called Housing Works to confirm). I moved on the 3rd of April and was able to get a discounted rate and an extra person ($65/hour for 3 movers, minimum 3 hours) since it was slightly outside of the peak window for moving. Call Sergei and he will not do you wrong. PROS: - On-time -- Requested 10am, buzzer rang at 9:50. - SUPER efficient -- Less than 2 hours total (out/in) for a 1BR - Careful -- I watched them take great care in handling my very nice stuff - Takes credit cards -- VISA/Mastercard only, no Amex. Tipped in cash. - Economical -- They're rates were as good or better than the 5+ movers I contacted - Polite and Professional-- No attitude about large items or 3rd floor walk-ups - Trustworthy -- They dropped off nice items at Housing Works as requested CONS: - None except they were so efficient that they beat the minimum time-limit I paid for by a full hour. I used EQ movers for a move from a storage facility in Connecticut to an apartment in NYC. Communication with Sergei was excellent and he responded both to text and telephone calls very quickly. As for promptness and professionalism: The day of the move, Sergei called to say "they will be there in 10-15 minutes and, indeed, Max & Andy showed up in 10 minutes. These guys were seasoned moving professionals. (Not day-workers picked up from a sidewalk somewhere.) Max and Andy thought about the placement of everything inside the truck and packed everything beautifully. All of my belongings (artwork, furniture and boxes) arrived without any damage whatsoever. When it came time to pay there were no "surprises" or upcharges. The quote given to me before the move was the price I paid. Not a penny more. One tip: pay in cash. EQ has a 10% surcharge for using a credit card. I HIGHLY recommend EQ Movers. The move went off without a hitch and, the EQ team was highly skilled, calm under pressure and easy to work with. read more

I loathe moving as much as the next person, so had requested recommendations and settled on two movers with prices in the $400/$500 range. My closing got further and further delayed so by the time I called to schedule the move neither one was available (May 1st, prime time for moves). I sent out a facebook plea for recs. Enter Excellent Quality Movers. They were able to schedule me for 1pm-2pm on May 1st, and when I expressed a little concern due to the 5pm co-op hard stop, Sergei said he would add a 4th guy to the move for the same price ($105/hr min 3.5 hours with 0.5 hours for travel). He was also clear about $15/mattress for mattress covers, I guess for bed bug prevention. The total looked to be $368+$30 = $398 + tip, very reasonable at short notice. He also provided the certificate of insurance that my co-op requested almost immediately, and let me know payment was expected all cash. I received call Wednesday asking if they could show up early, say 10:30am, which was more than fine with me. Only 3 showed up which made me nervous, however I was told I'd get the corresponding price reduction to $90/hr. They really had their act together as moving down my 3rd floor walkup is no joke, let alone carrying couches, 20+ boxes etc. This was all done in about 2 hours, but the move into my 2nd floor elevator building took barely an hour. Total price including $90 tip ($30 each) was $450. The only minor quibble was that they left the doors wide open in my old place and my new, but that was far outweighed by professionalism, speed and price. I already have a friend who is going to use them early next week, and would recommend them in a heartbeat given how many dodgy movers there are in this city. read more

Great Job! My family owns a moving company out west and therefore I'm very skeptical of what "good service" means to people. I expect the best and since being treated like family by my family is expected, being treated like family by movers who never met me before is above and beyond what I call service. The team showed up 15 minutes early to walk me through the contract and get the paper work rolling (no charge). We walked through my apt, reviewed all my boxes, and agreed on all that needed special handling or wrapping (expect this to cost more the more you want done... but that's a given - right?!). When the clock started at 9am, they wrapped, and moved me out. Total time to get out - 1 hour. Total time for entire move 2.5 hours. Total stress ZERO! After moving myself (with the help of some friends) within Manhattan for my two previous apartments, I decided to make things easy for myself and hire movers. Since it was my first time, I was pretty anxious -- I've heard some serious horror stories regarding other moving companies. I contacted a few companies for quotes two weeks before my move, and Excellent Quality Movers was by far the cheapest. Jack responded to my inquiry quickly and accurately, answering any questions I had. I moved from a studio apartment (one-floor walkup) in Times Square to a one-bedroom loft (two-floor walkup) on the Upper West Side. The day of the move, a man named Alex and his two crew members arrived pretty close to on time (about 15 minutes late, but totally understandable considering they were driving/parking a truck in Times Square!). They introduced themselves, had me sign some papers and got down to business. It's amazing what a three-person crew can do -- they pretty much acted like a well-oiled machine. The move out only took about 20 minutes. They actually beat me to the new apartment, and when I arrived, I saw that they already started unloading. There was definitely no dillydallying on their end. They carefully brought everything up and asked specifically where they should drop off each item in the apartment, which I greatly appreciated. Whenever I offered to help them out with something, they told me not to worry about it. When they were done, I signed another form, paid in cash and tipped each guy for a job well done. The entire move from start to finish only took about an hour and 15 minutes! (Though it should be noted that they have a three-hour minimum charge). I highly recommend Excellent Quality Movers. They were fast, efficient and professional. I certainly plan on using them in the future... but hopefully that won't be a for a good while. Moving is certainly a pain, but this company definitely made the process a bit easier! PS - FYI, they charge $10 extra to wrap up your mattress in heavy-duty plastic wrap. read more

I have used these guys 4 times now for moves over the past 6 years. Sergei's response to email and flexibility in availability is great for M-F working people. The moving teams have always been prompt, professional, and extremely quick. Not once did they work over the appraised time. A team of 3 has moved a one bedroom (mostly packed) in a 4 hour time slot repeatedly. During the last move they disassembled a storage bed, and a different team re-assembled it. Have recommended to numerous people, and have received nothing by good reviews. Will gladly use them for all future moving needs. read more

Our experience with Excellent Quality Movers could not have gone better. From the beginning, the manager Sergei was always very fast to answer questions and gave us all of the details we needed, including a full break down of costs and a very reasonable quote. He estimated that our 3-bedroom move from a building with an elevator to a first floor walkup 20 minutes away would take approximately 6 hours and when the team arrived (exactly on time!) they were quick, hard working and careful with our belongings. And they finished the move in only 5 hours! We ran out of tape the night before and the guys helped us tape up the last few boxes in addition to breaking down some of the big furniture and wrapping it all up securely in blankets. They were careful with several glass-doored cabinets and one of our hardest items to move - an 8 foot tall yucca plant - was packed up carefully and arrived safe and sound along with everything else. Sticker shock! They didn't tell me they'll use & charge us for wardrobe boxes to move smaller items. Dimitri gave me an attitude when I asked him why we were charged for boxes if all of our stuff were packed.... At the least, they could have asked in advance (other moving companies supply their own used wardrobe boxes to move smaller items for free). Also, before the move, they said mattress cover will be provided without charge -- but once they arrive, they changed their tunes -- they would wrap the mattress in cellophane, but covers cost. Moving is stressful, tiring and expensive. It's worst when you have to deal with rude people. We lived in an elevator building and we were moving to a storage unit... so it's not like they had to hull our stuff up any stairs. So when it came time to pay a tip, he said 15% is mandatory. Why should tipping not be proportionate to effort? I wonder? p.s. Once we moved our stuff out of storage... with a different moving company... we were told that EQM did a great job packing our things into a 10x10 storage unit. While I won't take back my previous comments, EQM did a good job... Though not all of the pieces of furniture are wrapped, so a number of pieces are nicked and scratched. EQ charges very low rates, but they ding you with many little fees. I have no issue with this -- it's their business model. Just be aware and you'll be able to save money. I moved all my paintings before hand, packed my own TV, bought my own mattress bags, and even bought my own plastic wrap. Everything other than furniture was boxed and ready to go. Oh keep in mind if they get a ticket it's on you (no splitting) . The movers arrived on time and worked quickly and efficiently. They sent 4 men (kept 1 in the truck to prevent a ticket). My 2 bedroom move within the neighborhood took 5 hours. My gripe is that they didn't take great care of my furniture. I see now there are lot of scratches and nicks on my furniture from the move -- perhaps this is to be expected, but I didn't experience this with my previous 2 moves. read more

I've had some horrible moving experiences and was terrified about my move yesterday (2/24/11). I chose EQM because they were recommended to me by a close friend who had just used them to move from Jersey City to Brooklyn. I contacted Sergei via email got a response immediately. Prices were extremely competitive, and they were able to accommodate the date and time I wanted to move. Movers showed up a few minutes early, they were courteous and quick. They were real professionals because they managed to work around some really tight corners without damaging anything. The foreman was great, he explained everything to me and was really helpful throughout the move. Alex and his team were awesome. An email/call for a quote was quick, and they provided me with all the info to make my decision...which was really easy, considering the number of great reviews on here and recommendations from people I knew. And also the quote! We needed certain certification for our management company for the move and EQ provided exactly what was needed quickly. And then the actual moving day happened! They were EARLY. It was great. Alex showed up and walked us through the paperwork and informed us what would happen. He told us that if we had someone watching the truck, we'd avoid a ticket 99% of the time. Perfect! It was a nice break from all the moving and packing craziness to stand outside and relax. A cop parked directly in front of the truck at one point...and then went into the bagel store across the street and left without a single issue. Everything was moved in an organized manner. They took two short breaks, and told us beforehand. The guys were a fun group --some of them sang while they carried heavy boxes, they joked with each other, and they worked really well together. They had a sense of humor, but also great work ethic. But most of all, *nothing* was broken! How impressive is that?? Now look. Me and my roommate obviously had a lot of stuff. Two bedrooms, a living room, full kitchen...and we have a LOT of books. Four large bookcases' worth. And we also had a lot of smaller bags and loose items. Alex was upfront and said that the easiest way to transport the smaller items was to put them in wardrobe boxes so they could bring them all down at once. They cost $20 each and he told us that in the beginning. He said he thought we'd need about three for the apt, and we said sure. When it turned out that we needed more, he told us beforehand and got our approval. That really increased my trust for them - he wasn't trying to talk us into anything or get anything by us. If he had any questions or issues, he let us know. When it came time to pay, he broke down the information and made a recommendation on the tip. I found that to be really helpful - he knew how difficult our move was compared with others, and could recommend a reasonable, but fair amount. Sidenote: I also had two cats and put them in the bathroom during the move. Alex was super sweet about them and obviously loves animals. He was very aware about their well-being and that allayed any worries that they would be let out accidentally. It was comforting knowing that he cared about them (he kept petting them and talked to them when I was moving them in there!) and that he alerted his guys to be mindful of not letting them escape. Some notes: 1) pay in cash! Four guys per hour was $105 if you paid by card, but $95 if you paid cash. 2) Know that they charge for moving certain things. There was a fee to move your TV, and also a $15 fee for a mattress bag, which is required for all moves. If you buy your own though (we did - it was $6 online), it's easier and cheaper. Most importantly, they were up front about these charges. 3) Buy these men water bottles! I felt bad that I didn't think of that and we had packed all of our cups by the time they showed up. The quote I received was nearly half the price of their competitors. Not only that, the cost of the actual move was slightly cheaper than my estimate. That NEVER happens. These guys showed up a bit early and were eager and ready to go. The only delays were on my end (wasn't finished packing) and my building (needed to set up elevators). It's worth paying a little more to get a reputable, established moving company. Ivan led a team of four who quickly and efficiently extracted my things -- including some very heavy boxes -- out of a five floor walk-up. They were considerate and conscientious, even noticing that a small yet essential metal piece fell out of my bookcase en route. Everything (except one plate) made it through unscathed, despite some sloppy packaging on my part. Just one complaint. My paintings weren't damaged, but I was startled to see items left leaning against the canvas in my new apartment. That should never happen. read more

After searching for weeks for a good moving deal a coworker sent me a link to EQM telling me to try them because a friend of hers used them for her move and she highly recommended them. Let me tell you, thank the heavens for my coworkers friend! These guys are affordable and really cleared out my apartment in no time! Out of all the quotes I was given (one quote made me laugh out loud on the phone with the guy. Wanted to charge me $900 dollars to move my stuff 15 mins away! Crazy!), EQM was the most reasonable for the amount of stuff I had and the distance I was traveling. The guys were at my place right on time and once all papers were signed, they immediately got to work. I paid for three guys for 3.5 hours and they got the job done in exactly that time frame TO THE MINUTE. The guys are friendly and will definitely make sure that things are done within the timeframe that you originally paid for. I will be using these guys again for the next time I move. I don't know about the little fees other reviews are talking about because I didn't actually have any of them. Granted, all of my stuff was packed and my furniture was disassembled and ready for moving the minute they got there so that might have helped a bit. read more

This one is a really good service. Used this company's service to move over 5 times in the past 9 years within Manhattan and other boroughs. Great communication both by Sergei and his crew. If something better be packed to avoid any damage or scratches the crew will warn, ask if extra wrapping is preferred. I used it to move between rented spots so rarely anything of value was moved (other than a larger TV). Never had a single major issue (lost, damaged, dropped). After another moving company crapped out on us the day before our move, we called EQ Movers and were able to get them for a mere two days later. They showed up early and had our entire apartment emptied in what seemed like no time at all - I have never seen a group of people so efficient at what they do. And even though all our furniture is just cheap second hand stuff, they made sure to wrap everything up in furniture blankets and treat it like it wasn't already covered in scratches and dents. We barely beat them to our new apartment, and as soon as they arrived they resumed their machine-like hustle to get all our stuff unloaded into the new place and all our furniture unwrapped. They also made sure to ask where we wanted each box and each piece of furniture to go, so we wouldn't have to do any heavy lifting after they left. They were incredibly efficient and professional, the price they quoted us on the phone was the price we paid, and from when they showed up to our NYC apartment to when they finished unloading us in Philly was just under five hours. I love them! Here's why: 1) They were able to fit me in 3 days before my move (i moved on the last day of the month, Friday 9/30) 2) 4 guys moved me out of my 5th floor elevator into my 5th floor walk-up; There was no complaining; to the contrary, they were funny, polite & genuinely caring. Alex came in and assessed everything before they went to it and packed up the truck faster than i've ever witnessed. 3) Last minute move, so i wasn't well packed -- they were incredibly careful w/my things. Mirrors & framed pieces were boxed and wrapped, wardrobe boxes for hanging clothes, all furniture well wrapped; mattress wrapped. 4) Not one single thing was damaged. 5) Pricing was extremely reasonable. i purchased boxes & wrapped for special/fragile items also. You pay an hourly flat rate. 6) Oh, and they did all of this w/in the 3 hour minimum window! Yes, they moved me from a 1 bedroom in an elevator building, to a 1 bedroom 5th floor walkup in 3 HOURS! I've used several movers in the past, but will use these guys again for my next move, as they are truly professionals! Incredibly quick and very careful of your belongings. The communication from start to finish was excellent -- no hidden costs and they are very thorough at letting you know if anything will cost extra (boxes/wrapping/etc). I used Excellent Quality Movers (EQ Movers) to move from my 1 bedroom on the UES to Stamford, CT (leaving the city! the horror!). Their time and cost estimate was accurate and on the day of the move the three man crew was right on time. The only unexpected fee was a reasonable one: they charged $30 to cover my bed and boxspring ($15 each) in plastic wrap. They said they can't move beds unless wrapped (with the bedbug epidemic of 2011 I can't say I'm surprised). Do yourself a favor and order plastic moving wrap and wrap up your stuff yourself, it really makes the move so much easier and the stuff is only $8 at UHaul or online at Amazon. Beyond that all costs were described up front (tolls, $25 gas fee, travel time charge). They estimated 3 hours for the move + 1.5 hours travel (travel time to pick up location and from drop off location) and were right on point. As for the move itself, they guys worked efficiently. They did the work at a reasonable pace - not too hurried but not slow - and were careful with all of our belongings. Everything arrived intact at the destination. I would definitely recommend EQ Movers to others, they did the job well and at a reasonable cost without hidden fees. If they can handle a 1 bedroom move from Manhattan to Stamford, CT then I have no doubt they can handle a 1 or 2 bedroom move within the city. read more

I used EQ Movers to move from a 3 floor walkup in east Brooklyn to the UWS earlier this month (2/19). Eugenii and his team showed up at 9:30am and got everything disassembled and moved out in under 30 minutes. Right when they started they noticed my cat who was hiding and asked if she'd run out the door by accident and paused while I caught her and put her in the other room (she was freaking out by the tape noises which made it difficult to catch her). I was going to put her in the other room anyway because cats escaping during a move is 100% a thing, but it was nice of them to ask. I also had them move like 5 or 6 plants, and they took care to pad the pots to make sure they wouldn't break. And, on the other side, despite having just 1 super slow, small elevator to work with at the Manhattan apartment, they had everything moved upstairs in under 30 minutes. Overall the whole move took 2 hours because of how efficient they were. Nothing was broken and everything looked great (and no plants were harmed!) And then, even after we signed the end contract and paid them, they stuck around for a little bit longer to put together the couch (I originally didn't ask them to put it together because I needed to switch the couch orientation, so it wasn't so easy as putting it back together as it had been, and I had been worried it'd take too long and didn't want to pay for the extra time. But they did it anyway, free of cost!) Overall super quick, easy, professional experience, and the price was great for the amount of stuff I moved because they were so fast. Would definitely recommend Eugenii and his team specifically. read more

I used EQ Movers for my move yesterday, 7/28/14, from my 3 floor walk up on UES to elevator building in Gramercy. I reached out to several moving companies and EQ Movers gave me the best quote (least expensive and not a ton of hidden fees). My new building also required a COI and Sergie was very helpful getting it to me quickly. They gave me a time window between 11-12:30 and arrive around 12:30. Sergie who I think works at the home base kept me updated which was very helpful My team was Alex K. and he had two other strong guys. They all worked hard and were focused and got my move done in 3 hours. Excellent company - would use again. read more

Excellent Quality movers were EXCELLENT!! We had to move from a single bedroom apartment to another single bedroom apartment which are 2 miles away. Excellent movers were right on time ( 9 am) and started doing their job immediately with absolutely no waste of time. These guys are super fast, very efficient and polite too. They packed all furniture's and moved every last thing from our old apartment into their truck in just 1 hour! They gave a couple of free huge cartons for packing our stuff too. They unloaded our furniture's and luggage at our new place in 1 hour again! Totally everything was done in 2 and half hours!! They charged us for a total of 3 hours which includes the travel time and stuff. I recommend this movers to everybody! read more
