I had been meaning to check out this spot for a few weeks and finally went for happy hour. The bartender, waitress, and chef all chatted with me and gave me recommendations. Everyone was just SO nice! The decor is cute. The apps we had were pretty good, but the upside down pizza was delicious! The crust was perfectly crisp and the roasted red peppers were a great touch. First off- I Iove the decor- it is uniquely decorated and really feels like a tastefully designed place. I love the openness of it with the large window in the front being open and the fresh air from outside coming in. The Vespa's and European feel make it a really unique location for Garrett hill. My family and I went during happy hour because we wanted to get some discounted food prices. Their normal food prices are quite pricey in my opinion so we figured this would be the time to try. My sister and I shared a margherita pizza and Buffalo wings. The pizza was okay, it definitely had a unique flavor and sweetness to it. I couldn't tell if it was the sauce or pizza crust that was throwing me off a bit. The Buffalo wings, however, were perfectly sauced and crisp. Our step-dad ordered Buffalo wings and meatballs and said both were great. I was also watching the bartender make drinks that looked absolutely delicious with fresh muddled ingredients. I definitely would suggest trying during happy hour first to get a sense of if you like the food before going for dinner and spending a good chunk of change. read more

These scooter bar seats were aesthetically pleasing however my friend and I sat on them while we had a pizza and they are the most uncomfortable bar stools you'll ever sit on. They certainly don't make you want to stay a while. The pizza was good so think about a to-go order of that. Menu very basic with nothing out of the ordinary. read more

Great find! Wish we tried a pasta!! My husband & I sat at the bar. I had an old fashioned, he had a IPA. Grilled calamari was delicious, beet salad, and the recommended pizza scarabeo. Arugula arugula- everything looked so good we couldn't make our mind up. ( that's why I say wish we tried a pasta) every dish we ordered had arugula ( which is fine) we both love arugula, just wish we switched out the pizza for the pasta! This was our first time here and we really enjoyed our experience. Our server was sweet and we didn't feel rushed. We started with the G. Hill appetizer which was really delicious. My husband had the Oricchette Broccoli Rape and Sausage and I had the Porcini risotto with Scallops. We both really enjoyed our meals. I took away 1 star because I have two pet peeves and they hit them both. They serve as it is ready instead of everyone together. The table of 4 next to us was a good 5 minutes from the 1st meal to the last being served. I also think if you are paying good money for a meal they can do better than Lipton for hot tea that they probably buy in bulk. I highly doubt it would cost much more for them to have a selection of herbal teas. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and will return. read more

Exit 13 is still a pretty good restaurant but I do worry that it's haphazardly run. Changing menu (Is there a brunch? Is there not?). Changing hours. Changing layouts (Including getting rid of the two remaining Vespa seats at the bar). Inconsistent social media presence. Owner treats you like gold one day, and doesn't speak to you the next. I really hope they get it together, because I like this place, but consistency and processes are key to successful restaurants - and they're lacking at Exit 13. read more

Came here for my birthday dinner and it was amazing! The ambiance was quirky but sophisticated (authentic, modern Italian), the server was very personable and attentive, and the food was generally quite good. My gnocchi was nothing to write home about, but my dad's fettuccini bolognese was to die for, and so was my mother's branzino. I also had an espresso martini that was amazing, and my mom's rose-flavored cocktail was also impressive. I also highly recommend the tiramisu and cheese bread. The crust is excellent! I'd say they should put a little more sauce on the pizzas and I think the price point is a bit high- however I would say visit the place; it has a nice atmosphere & plenty parking which is a big plus for the location. read more

This review is for a pickup order. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and the staff is attentive and friendly. I ordered a Jawn sandwich for pickup. It tasted great, the fresh bread makes a difference. But they hadn't packed the fries. So part of the meal was missing, and it's not like one would drive back to get the fries. So heads up to everyone picking up to check that everything has been packed in the bag! read more

We started a BIG BIRTHDAY weekend at EXIT 13 and this place KILLED IT!!! We were lucky to book the upstairs area for 17 and even luckier to have the AMAZING MADDY as our server! She was TOTALLY on top of every request. Everyone (including two Celiacs) was able to order from the menu...Cocktails, beer, wine...CHECK! Different appetizers...CHECK! Salads and entrees...CHECK, CHECK! Every dish came piping hot and was so SO good. This place is fantastic! Seriously good food cooked perfectly. But the STAR OF THE SHOW was MADDY! My fiance and I wandered in on a lazy, sunny, Sunday Bryn Mawr walk-about afternoon and sat at the bar a bit peckish. Started out with a drink and perused the menu. Ordered broccoli rabe and sausage plus meatballs as an appetizer. Split an entree dish of chicken and gnocchi with pesto. Left with a carry-out with enough food for the next day's lunch. The juice: The gnocchi (w/ pesto) are made fresh on site and the serving size was giant. The bread that was served prior to the meal was amazing. We asked for olive oil for the bread and our server, Lydia, came back with olive oil, red pepper, parm, etc... House red was nice and dry and cut through the sausage, etc... The meatballs are as big as your head (x3). The rabe and sausage was perfect. Staff was very friendly and cool. The unjuice: Not much to say here. The tap selection was limited... but how much beer am I drinking with Italian food? I could have eaten a bit more rabe, but it was an appetizer. On first glance, the restaurant looks like a brew place, but the menu they serve up is much better than that... Bottom line: We'll be going back! That's all you need to know! read more

had a great lunch here today. I had the pear and goat cheese salad with chicken. The salad was AMAZING. The chicken, on the other hand, was so thin and dry that it was really chicken jerky. it was seriously 1/8 of an inch thick. This place is a solid five star if you do not get the chicken with your salad. My husband had a sausage and pepper sandwich with fries that he said was great. Quick, friendly service. Tried Exit 13 for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. We were able to be seated quickly and our server was great. The ambiance of the space was really cool and still payed homage to Garrett Hill Pizza the restaurant that was a local staple for years and formerly occupied the space. Our food came out quickly and the portion sizes were good. I had the chicken parm sandwich and it was delicious. You could taste the fresh ingredients in the sauce, the roll was great and the fries were cooked to perfection. My only negative was the pricing which seemed a little higher versus other restaurants in the area. That said, I think that's an easy fix, once it's been open for a while. Hopefully they're here to stay for a while! The neighborhood needs more places like this. read more
