I agreed to it. It's a tiny shop that's next to a gas station. It looks completely run down and if it weren't for the reviews, I'd have a hard time seeing myself here. I was told that I'd be able to come pick it up in roughly 3 hours. Kudos for allowing same-day service. By the time it was ready for pickup, I came in to inspect the phone. I noticed just there are some gaps on the screen but it was responsive. Right as it became time to pay I learned they were unwilling to accept the Yelp check in offer of 10% off and would charge an additional $20 fee when deciding to use a credit card. I went out to get cash and eventually paid. When asking for a receipt, he gave me a piece of paper with some scribbles and largely illegible penmanship. Overall the repair was successful, the price was right, but the inconvenience and shoddy customer service might mean I will reconsider my business if this ever happens again.

This review is for the solid transparency and professionalism of the staff. I have a cracked screen on my 2023 Samsung Galaxy. I kept the phone because it wasn't worth turning in when I got a new one, and I figured I could always have it as a back-up. Unfortunately to repair would have been over $300 which is just not worth it for me at the moment. The tech I spoke to took his time to inform me of my options. Apparently the price is because they are Samsung- quality certified which does give peace-of-mind. I came on a week-day and they told me they wouldn not be able to provide same day service because they were so busy, but to come back when they had more staff on the weekend. I appreciated the transparency!! Other things to note: There is plenty of parking and it is free for a short amount of time. They do sell a small selection of phone accessories like screen protectors and cases.

I hope I don't have to return again anytime soon, but at least I know there's a reputable cellphone repair shop in the area.

Unfortunately while I understand their need for customers as a small neighborhood business and their struggles as a small community, that's profits come from consistent costumers. I unfortunately was not pleased to find most things in the store do not have price tags, and instead they will try to haggle a price with you. Asking "how much are you willing to pay?" While it does allow leniency if you're into bargaining, for someone who prefers honesty, it isn't an appreciated business practice I'd expect anywhere outside of a flea ,or night market. And despite the many cameras pointed at you and electronic locks on the front door of the shop that can be locked and unlocked from the safety of the counter, they won't let you hold most items in your own hands to examine them. The store often looks empty when it isn't due to heavily tinted windows and a locked door during business hours you have to knock on and stand five feet in front of to get into. It feels like I'm making a back alley deal with a shady scammer even though it's not the case. The people inside or more than respectful, just cautious which I can appreciate. But I don't want to haggle a price, listen to you make a fake phone call to check the price of something and offer me a bogus deal like a mall salesman to get me to buy your product, half of what they have can be found online for much cheaper than they'll try to sell it to you for. And when you refuse to buy they'll noticeably lower the price to something within your price range, but just short of all the cash in your wallet. Again, some might find this to be exciting, but I personally do not and like to pay a fair price set for every customer. The only reason I give this place the rating I have is because they've repaired something of mines that was broken. Good for repairs, but if I wanted electronics I'd find the cheaper deal on Amazon, same item but for 7$'s less guaranteed. It's heartbreaking because I really do resonate with the hustle and empathize with the struggles, but do not approve of their practices. Regardless I still do follow their socials, support all their posts and praise their efforts, but I will not be consistently buying often from the business unless changes are made. It's truly a matter of preference, and I don't mean to bash anyone, just giving my input for those who care and share the same values as I.

My 6 year old iMac suddenly stopped working and it wouldn't even turn on or make a sound. After unsuccessfully trying some simple troubleshooting at home I decided to take it to Experimac Houston Heights for a diagnostic and repair. I was very impressed with how convenient my whole experience was. Upon arrival I met the owner who provided excellent customer service and explained a few of the possible problems. She offered a diagnostic for a low cost that would later be credited to me if I subsequently completed the repair. I went for it and on the same day they found the problem, called me to consult if I wanted to move forward with the repair, and completed the whole thing. I took my computer there today around 11am and now (7:30 pm) the computer is fixed and on my desk. I don't think it gets any better than this. I thought the price was fair. The staff was very polite and friendly. I recommend this place to anyone with an apple product. Don't waste your time at the Apple store. read more

I had originally gone to a different person to fix my laptop, and he had it for about 3 weeks and told me I was going to have to spend so much money to retrieve my data and replace my hard drive, and that it would be at least another week or two. I got my laptop back and took it to Experimac, and they fixed everything in a day. It turned out it wasn't the hard drive, and it was instead a cable. They made sure I understood every step of the process. Patricia and Grace were great at being very clear of what would happen, how it would happen, and keeping me updated on everything. The service was absolutely amazing. I've already recommended them to my family for any future computer needs and would definitely recommend them to anyone else who needed to get their computer, phone, iPad, or anything checked out. I was having trouble with my computer. More specifically my external hard drive. Fearing the worst, I had researched the web and watched endless You-Tubes to guide me though various settings and tests on my own. Finally, I was at my wits end and called Patricia at Experimax because she has been my most knowledgable Mac source in the past. (And I have been the Apple centers many times.) She quickly confirmed to me that my tests did show that the problem was not with my computer but the external hard drive itself and recommended to me a local service that she had confidence would provide me with quality service in a timely fashion. I am SO happy I was referred to this business!!! My laptop was causing me various frustrating issues and a friend of mine told me about this place. Took my laptop in, and not only did they discuss the possible issues and possible solutions, they had it cleaned up, running lightening fast, and all for a very very good price and quick turnaround. When I picked up my sloth of a laptop, the store associate, took (a lot of) time to discuss what the problems were, how they resolved them, and gave me tips about my laptop and Apple software (that my teenager had not told me about). I found the BEST Technology expert in Houston at Experimax Houston Heights. . Her name is Patricia Maddux. I have a MAC Studio. I lost all of my Outlook Contacts and Calendar events. Patricia was determined to find a resolution to the problem. She could have given up at any time but she told me "I know there is a solution." I had a problem with my iPhone and email account. Spent several hours on the phone with Apple and ATT and they were not able to solve the problem. Tried the local Apple Store and ATT Store and they could not solve the problem. Got the impression they were not interested in helping at all. I went to get my damaged iPad repaired. They were very professional and courteous to deal with. I checked other repair business and they were much higher in cost to repair my device. They took less than 24 hr to replace damaged items within the iPad. I have used this company 3 times and was given the same professional service. I would highly recommend them to purchases or to repair an electronic device that is not working. They return your phone calls and gives you updates on your device that is being repaired. My MacBook went kaput during a software upgrade. I worked with Apple phone help, who were very helpful, after several attempts, they suggested I contact an authorized Apple repair, as my MacBook was considered "vintage"at 5 years of age. I arrived at ExperiMac "Heights" at 10am, was greeted by Patricia. Around noon, she called and my beloved "vintage" MacBook was up and running perfectly! We went looking for a refurbished MacBook and stumbled across Experimac in the Heights on the web. When we arrived, the staff was helpful and friendly and answered all of the questions we had (and a few we had not thought of). We walked out with a good computer at a good price and could not be happier. From what I can tell, they have a fairly steady supply of Macs that they will stand behind, should any issues arrive, so if you are looking for a new computer (new to you, that is), this is a place you should check out. read more

I am very satisfied with Experimac West Houston. I first took my laptop to two other place including the Apple store and no one could help me fix my Macbook Pro. David was very helpful, he was able to do a graphics card flush, replace my original hard drive with a 500 gig solid state drive, and up the RAM from 4 gigs to 16 gigs in the end making my Macbook Pro feel and function as brand new. Above and beyond! Experimax Houston Heights came through. Crashed laptop and no backup-ugh. We were convinced the laptop was a goner but the staff and owner did not give up. They were able to salvage the data. After diagnosis, we decided to replace the laptop and were pleased with the selection and the tech assistance and knowledge. Took my PC laptop in because it was all junked up with viruses and malware. Brought it in around 4 p.m. They called me with an update before the closed at 6, and told me it would be ready the following day. Communicated again the following day.
