The facility itself is nice. The people are nice. However I just think it's weird to give your passcode off to them. When I got my phone back, I had a random screenshot that I assume is from the app that was downloaded to my phone. Yes an app downloaded to my phone. They didn't tell me there would be an app downloaded to my phone. It just felt a little strange the lack of communication to inform me of what would be done apart from replacing the phone. I have always been impressed with this location, and Tristan is exceptional. I recently purchased a laptop here (the one I'm using now), and it performed flawlessly until recently, when the screen began dimming intermittently during video playback. I brought it in, thinking I might have altered a setting, but it turned out there was a technical issue with the laptop. Tristan reached out to discuss my options and is currently arranging for a replacement unit in space gray, as they only had rose gold in stock. I am extremely satisfied with the service. My iPhone 14 battery was dying and of course it started a month after the end of Applecare. Went to Experimax and talked to the owner. He stated they could replace the battery but cautioned they use a non-Apple battery and there might be some messages on the phone after replacement. I decided to go ahead as going to the Genius bar for repair would take too long. Had the phone back in 2-hours from Experimax. While there were some messages in the battery setting menu, they went away and now the phone is working great. Can't say enough about this great store. read more

About an hour later I came back, and they had changed my battery in my iPhone at a reasonable price. You really can't ask for anything more than that. Highly recommend. After receiving a $450 quote from Apple saying that they needed to send my macbook air off for diagnostics, I decided to take my dead laptop elsewhere. I dropped my macbook off with Experimax on a Saturday, received a call that same day to let me know that the battery just needed to be replaced, and I picked up the macbook on that following Monday. The total cost to replace that battery was $100. The apple care associates told me that the battery was not the issue. I am glad I got a second opinion and will definitely be back next time one of my apple devices gives out. Highly recommend. And they are so friendly! read more

Left my laptop at this company having been quoted a price to make a repair. Told it would be ready the following day in the AM. Went by at 2:20 in the afternoon to have given them plenty of time. Arrived to find they had taken down my access password incorrectly and didn't make a simple phone call or text to me (I checked my call history and had no missed call from them or voicemail). So the laptop had nothing done to jt. When I asked why a simple attempt too contact me wasn't made the rep led and said they had. No genuine answer or response why things weren't handled differently as I was paying them $250 to correct the issue. Don't entrust this business if it's employees to take care of you. The owner of the company was sitting at desk on a call and hearing my conversation and never even made an attempt to salvage the situation or offer a resolution. Terrible customer service. Pathetic experience. I would give them zero stars if that was possible. read more

Screen went out on my MacBook, took it to the Apple store & they quoted me $500 to replace the screen saying that was my only option. Good thing I came here before takin that offer because after lookin at it, they informed me that it was rather the backlight that needed replacing, not the entire screen. With my Yelp deal, I ended up paying $275 which is a heck of a better deal than $500! Unfortunately, my screen went out again two weeks later, I took it back and Frank was kind enough to fix it without makin me pay extra since it was the same backlight issue as before. They could've easily scammed me out of my money by saying it was a different issue because I wouldn't even have known any better. Long story short, I appreciate their honestly and their customer service is top-notch! I recommend coming here before visiting the Apple store! read more

I came on here to praise this company for their professionalism, fast service and affordable prices. I was having issues with my MacBook Air, the keyboard and tracking pad needed to be replaced due to having minor water damage. Apple wanted to charge me close to 500.00 and wanted to send my computer out for a week. I just got my MacBook Pro back from Experimac. I consulted with the owner David on upgrade options and decided on maxing out the ram, replacing the primary HD w/ an SSD drive, and replacing the SuperDrive w/ another SSD. I've now got a screaming machine w/ 1.5TB of internal storage (and no moving parts), 16gb ram, and a portable USB SuperDrive. Turnaround on this service was quick and the price was exactly as quoted, and reasonable. I will definitely use Experimac again. Curious what they can do w/ an older model iMac. My 2013 macbooks were recently serviced in January 2022 by someone in OH that only does Apple products and has high reviews. He explains on his TikToks how to change batteries and other minor things, so I figured, why not? I'll try him out even though I had to pay for shipping to/from and then the wait time. Well, here I am just a mere 3 months later and the hard drive on one of my macs, which I also upgraded, was acting up! I never received receipts, or warranty, though I requested multiple times and then just forgot about them. I could have sent it back but that would mean more on shipping + wait time. So, I searched for a possible place, near me, and found this place. I saw that Experimax was super close to me and has high ratings. With reason!! David said they would diagnose at no charge and let me know from there. Turns out, hard drive crashed and, not only that, said that it was connected with a "bridge" , that shouldn't be there, to make the "upgraded" hard drive fit! He explained what the problem clearly and gave me options. I had to get another hard drive but did not have to wait. Got it back the very same day!!!! I was super happy and Mac works better now than when I "upgraded" the first time around. I am for sure gonna be a return customer and recommend this place to anyone else! read more

After seeing this store on channel 13's. Stretch your Dollar segment.... We decided to Stop by Experimac on a Thursday afternoon ...... Right there on the north side on the Katy Freeway just west of Academy / HEB ...... east of Witte rd. grandaughter had dropped her IPhone 5 cracking the screen several months ago Just wanted a price on replacing the screen David [ the owner ] had a technician check to make sure that was the only problem. Within a few minutes the technician reported that only the screen needed replacing. David had the replacement screen installed within 20 minutes. Plus .... saved on buying a used screen over a new one. If you have an Apple product with a problem ..... give them a try ! Great prices of refurbished Apple products as well as Fast repair .
