I really wanted to like this place l, but if I am going to pay $50 for a pedicure it should look perfect. Instead, the girl missed half my nails while painting. This is your job, how does that even happen??? I didn't notice until I got home, but this is the reason I will not be back. Everyone working was very nice. The spa was clean. Easy parking. I don't like the pushiness to upgrade me. How many times must I say I am not interested in upgrades? She made me feel like I had to explain WHY I wasn't upgading for her to back off. "I have surgery next week and won't be able to work for 2 weeks. I really don't have money to splurge right now, I would like basic pedi, and add extra calus removal and then basic mani with upgraded massage" clearly I know exactly what I want and am beginning to loose my patience with her insistence. And then she tried one more time for me to upgrade, go organic, try sns nails. I was frustrating that she wouldn't back off and just LISTEN TO ME. I see women across the way with wine, I was never offered any beverage. In my mind there are specific things you need to do to have a successful nail salon. Offer drinks. Offer Wifi. Go through your services quickly and thoroughly with intent in your work. Don't half mindedly touch me while speaking over your shoulder at your coworkers. Have something good and chick flicky or interesting on tv OR HAVE RELAXING MUSIC. It's not relaxing sitting in a quiet room with 11 other people and only hearing conversations in a different language. Nothing on tv, no music. I've been here before and had a much better time last time. If this was my first experience, I probably wouldn't come back. There are too many salons in Austin and if I'm going to spend $100 on a mani pedi, I have expectations on how I want to feel during and after the appointments. I was searching for a new place but we all know how hard it is to trust a new nail tech. This place is FANTASTIC! Go here! I had a French on my natural nails (no acrylic, etc) both Mani & Pedi and they are exactly how I wanted them. Tammy was very up front and honest about the different costs for the different offerings they have, and my "bill" was exactly what I expected. They do perfer tips in cash which is totally cool (if you've ever worked wait staff or "for tips" you get it - so bring cash). They can do tips added to a card, just prefer cash. ALL of the folks there were friendly, accommodating, and want you to be satisfied. I also had my brows done and Tammy did exactly how I wanted them, I asked for more arch without looking "surprised," and she was happy to do it how I wanted (FYI, I signed up for Yelp in order to give them this positive 5-start review; so they're that good. aka: my first online review). read more

I have been going to this salon for the last two years and am very happy with them. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by all the employees and they make you feel at home. I have gotten to know the majority of the employees and they are very hard working and honest people. It is a very clean and professional place. I work in the shopping center and do not hesitate to recommend them to everyone. I go there to get some relax time and always leave very pleased with their service. This is my favorite salon in Austin! Hot stones and hot towels are part of the pedicure (best pampering ever). My nails are always on point too- very clean, no bubbles left in the top coat like a lot of other places. When I went in today I had a photo of what I wanted and they mixed different powders & glitters to achieve the look I was looking for! I had my nails done here (gel) and the very next day the polish was peeling and chipping off. I placed a top coat on and that doesn't seem to last for more than a day so needless to say I have been doing my nails every day since paying for them to be done. The girl who started my nails was doing a good job but towards the end they pulled her to help someone else and had several people taking turns trying to finish mine. One didn't know here the other let off and was just a very uncomfortable situation. I won't be back. read more

This is the worst gel mani I have ever gotten. First of all it took her over an hour to do the mani and she had to re-do two of my nails during the mani. By the time I got home (a 5 minute) drive one of my nails was already chipping off! Now one day later 4 of my nails are chipped! and it was a GEL mani that should last for at least 2 weeks. Also they were not very nice, did not offer water or anything and pointed and laughed at my choice of color! I will NEVER go back again. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

To be straight up with you. Don't go here If you want acrylics. My nails are jacked up, the messed up my nail then just stuck the fake nails on. The lengths are all completely different from each other. The paint is jacked. It looks like crap. They were also very rude. I will never go back there for anything. read more

Ok, the deluxe pedicure was awesome! The guy set a timer and really worked and exfoliated my feet and legs. It was great. I go to check out, and I notice a sign that says "cash only tips" which is odd. I don't normally carry cash with me, and luckily I had some. My biggest issue with this place- I had a gift card that I had been given (quite a while ago-I'm a busy mom, so I didn't really pay attention to how long I had it unfortunately). I didn't see the small print at the bottom that says it expires within a year of receiving it. I went 5 days after it expired, and they would not honor it. Seriously? I get that it had an expiration date, but it was 5 days. Many businesses will honor coupons that are expired or even coupons from other businesses. You already got my friend's money, so I'm not sure why the gift card couldn't be honored. This place has shady business practices, and I will not be back. read more

I am sad to write this review. I was an incredibly loyal customer of this business since it opened but the customer service has gotten worse and worse. The manager (or owner) is just getting meaner and meaner. I always make an appointment because there are only two women there who are good. One of them is phenomenal. I have seen people wait over an hour to get really bad jobs done. So, I have always made appointments with one specific person (and thanked her profusely and tipped her extremely well). Over the past few months, the manager has gotten weirder and weirder about letting me make appointments, saying they "are too busy" to make them. The last time I went, I made an appointment, arrived for it and my nail technician had *just* started with another customer. Since I didn't want to wait over an hour, the mean manager shouted at me, "why don't you come back tomorrow?" I said I was more than happy to do that. I came back the next day. The *same* thing happened. I waited for my services, paid (and generously tipped), and left. When I called to make an appointment yesterday, they said they aren't making appointments anymore. I'm very sad to say that I won't be going back there, won't be referring friends to my number one nail tech. The manager is mean. If you don't have an appointment, you can wait up to an hour for someone to help you. And, I personally have had terrible manicures/pedicures (and even been cut) by people who work there. It's really just so sad. They have two great women who work there but, ultimately, the managers just don't care enough about their customers. read more

I am not a fan. First of all, it has been about a week since my pedicure and I can hardly wear shoes as my nails are digging into the side of my toes and both the polish on my toes and hands is not consistent, thin places and thick spots. The color I chose was light so you can see all the inconsistencies. And, they seem to make up prices as they go. The posted price is the price they start with before all the charges they add on. And I am not talking about deluxe services. They ran my credit card for one price and then quickly ran it again for $30 more. When I questioned it the guy in charge disappeared. I waited for a few minutes which was long enough to hear the next two customers who where paying asking similar questions to why their charges were higher than expected. I will be going elsewhere to get my toe damage undone. The charges at Expert Nails were insane but if the service were free, I would still pass. It was just not worth the hassle. read more

The first visit to the salon was okay but the second visit was horrible. First of all, no one understands English (except one girl who is not always around) and when I asked for rounded nails, the "boy" who was doing my manicure did not understand. Not only were my nails not rounded but they were not even shaped well. My gel/shellac was bumpy and chipped off the next morning. I asked for the same color on my toes and nails and it was not. When I pointed this out to the lady doing my toes, she could not understand what I was saying. I tried to show her that it was the wrong color but she just kept smiling and nodding. I was so frustrated by this time with the whole thing that I just wanted to leave. The lighting in the place is so bad that I didn't notice until I got home that my toe polish was all bubbily and uneven and that my cuticles were painted in places. I want to have it fixed but I will never go back. Oh, and the tip thing! You cannot put the tip on your credit card. I did not have any cash or a check so they got no tip. They gave my a nasty look but what do they expect. I am sure that happens all the time. I ordered the "deluxe" package so the whole thing was 70.00 and so not worth it. They lack respect for their clients. I've been their client for over 4 years and I'm not going back since this last time. I got there just after 10 am on a Tuesday, they had only 2 employees that were busy with clients and there was already someone else waiting. I said I wanted regular pedicure and asked if it was going to take long and if so, I told the lady that I could go get my groceries and come back in 30 minutes, I repeated that I could came back later because I had other things that I needed to do and I didn't want to be seated waiting... Well, they said someone was coming in to work and told me to have a seat, it would not take long.. They gave me a water, I had my feet in the water and waited, and waited. Then, 30 minutes in, another client showed up and was told to wait.. I was thinking about leaving but I noticed the "pedicure" next to me was almost done it was going to be my turn.. So, when that pedicure was done, the client asked him if it would be possible for her to get a manicure as well... The employee first looked at me and then said yes "no problem" to that person, totally ignoring that I had been waiting for 45 minutes! They did not respect my time and business, I am not going back. I gave 2 stars because I used to like the service and had good experiences there in the past. read more
