I live in a 1925-era upstairs flat where no one envisioned a washer and dryer. Installing hook ups for an electric all-in-one unit wasn't the most straight-forward job. Expert Plumbing Solutions had changed a bath faucet for me. It was a three-hour job that cost $1,240. I was okay with it and approved the deal. Paul was a nice person to work with. But, after the job was done, the contractor told us there was a water leak on the toilet. He told us he could fix it by replacing the rubber tank flapper for $210. I know that a flapper generally cost about $5 at Home Depot, Lowes or ACE. I would understand a high quote if a plumber was called to the property to fixed something, but he had just finished a $1,200 job at the property and wanted a whopping $210 to replace a $5 rubber flapper? I thought that was a bit extreme. I know the same toilet tank was just serviced a few months ago. Also, no one had complained about the toilet. The contractor asked if he could look at the toilet right after the faucet job. Smells like an overprice scam to me.. read more

You Better Call Paul Prompt, thorough, clean and highly profesisonal. I had a sink that blocked, blew the P-Trap seal and flooded my kitchen last night. Despite taking everything apart, I couldn't fix it and identified the problem inside building where the drain pipe led. The first motorized snake attempt took about 8' of snake and didn't work. The second took 50' and that cured it. It took a lot of time but they honored the quote. I had them replace the p-trap and associated pipes and couldn't be happier. I had a minor problem with my main drain line. I live in the Sunset district in San Francisco, and a lot of the older houses have problems with the drain line and roots breaking the pipes. Turns out they punched a hole in it and used a generic part where our specific brand was required. Both pg&e and the plumber that came to fix it today said we were lucky the water heater didn't blow up and start leaking carbon monoxide the way it was. I first connected with Paul here on Yelp to install a new pressure regulator on my water main as well as hook up a new dishwasher, and was impressed by his promptness, friendliness, and the quality of work he did. I was so impressed that when I needed to install my new kitchen sink, I didn't bother contacting anyone else. Not only was Paul able to do the job quickly (which also necessitated installing new angle-stops to accommodate a smaller gauge line), he also added another part to make both of our lives easier for a future project. I saved myself a lot of cash, I had a leak after heavy rains and naturally thought it was a roof problem, several roofers gave me quotes, well over $2500, then one guy mentioned it might be a pipe leak, so I called Paul from EPS. I woke up this morning to water surrounding the drains in my garage. I went out to the sidewalk and my sewer drain was spewing up what looked like water, lint, and other debris. This company is plainly amazing. We had to clean a sewer line in a very old building. We called roto rooter - they cleaned it. Charged us a lot of money and three days later same problem.
