If there was 6 stars out of 5, this place would be the one to get it! Sean is the straightest talking, most honest mechanic I've ever come across. I've had a knocking noise under my car (Jeep Grand Cherokee) since I've had my front struts replaced by my mechanic in California last month. He told me it was a "pinched coil" and fixed it...but the sound was still there. They charged me $200 Moved to Tucson and found this place. Sean said it took him 5 minutes to find the problem which he wrote into my invoice: "Inspected and found bolt for sway bar was cross threaded and then someone installed a spacer to hide the issue. We removed the spacer and rethreaded the hole and reinstalled the bolt." My previous mechanic had stripped the hole for one of the main bolts and put a spacer in between because the bolt didn't go all the way through. That was causing the knocking sound the whole time. I am giving this place 5 stars for their kindness and honesty. I came initially for an oil change. Unlike other places around Tucson which have charged me $50+, here I was only charged around $35. The service was quick and they let me know of a few other issues my car was having. The last place I went to get an oil change quoted me over $500 for a plethora of nonexistent issues. Here, I was given a reasonable estimate for issues I knew my car would be having in it's age. I quickly made another appointment for fix these issues and once again, I was treated with respect, kindness, and honesty. I asked if my car needed an alignment because it felt like it had been veering off to the side and they checked everything for me and let me know I didn't need it. I really appreciated that they told me the truth; they could have easily lied and taken the extra money. Besides this, the place seems to be run by a family. It's always nice to see a family working together. I plan on making Express Tune Up & Lube my regular place for all my auto needs. Highly recommend! read more

This shop is really outstanding! I just recently moved to the States from overseas and was feeling pretty overwhelmed with finding a new trustworthy mechanic. After having a not very positive experience at a renown service chain, I turned to Yelp when the check engine light came on. Thank God I found these guys. I have some basic understanding of what goes on under the hood but these guys explained EVERYTHING in detail in a way even a five years old could understand. They also honored the estimate to the penny both times I've been there. I took my auto in for a tune-up & received nothing but professionalism from both Shawn & Rebekah. Rebekah was also very PERSONABLE on the phone while scheduling my appointment & offering an estimate WHICH DID NOT VARY AT ALL! I have found a mechanic in Tucson instead of hauling my car all the way to Benson which is where we moved from. My daughter asked about her car when I picked up mine & Shawn said "pop your hood" & he did something (I am no mechanic) & it stopped sputtering! I think my daughter fell in love right then! Asked for a price quote for a 2004 ford mustang transmissions service, almost any shop in town can give you a price quote right away, not these guys they needed to know engine size etc etc. 2004 ford mustangs have 1 of 4 transmissions in them all pretty much the same 2 automatics 2 manuals. Filter and gasket is 10$ tops + whatever fluid costs the fact they couldn't give me a price quote without "more info" makes me think one of two thing 1. they know nothing about cars or very little or 2. they just trying to rip people off. Either way id stay clear of here there are much better options out there that or Rebekah just dose not know what shes doing read more

Express Tune and Lube gets 5 stars because of the wonderful job and customer service. I had my battery replaced and they honor a warranty if it doesn't work within a specified time. I also had to get some O2 sensors that they suggested I should ask my Toyota dealership if they cover it under my extended warranty and it covered the damaged one...they took care of the rest. No one had ever suggested that to me (to inquire from Toyota so I don't pay more than I should). Most places are interested in trying to drain as much money from you. Just Wonderful.... Let me start off by saying this is my first and most likely the only time I will write a review about any company. So, my car was shaking very badly when I got up to speeds of 65mph. I was afraid the problem was something very serious and I would have to pay a mechanic with my last breath. I searched for the best shops in Tucson for a tune up assuming that was the problem. Express Tune Up was the first on the list with 4-5 stars for reviews. I know, you can't really trust reviews, but these reviews were spot on. I called them up and explained my issue. I also had a very long drive ahead of me. (Payson) I spoke with Mike who is just a doll. He advised me that he was full for that day but to bring my car anyway as soon as I could. He gave me an estimate over the phone and I agreed to take my baby in. When I arrived I was greeted by the sweetest woman behind the desk. We had some laughs and I meet the man behind the voice, Mike. He and the wonderful woman behind the desk, which turned out to be his wife assured me that my baby and I were in good hands. I have to mention that this is not a cookie cutter shop or one of those get as many cars in as possible and do shotie work kind of shops. This is a HONEST to goodness family owned/ran business. They took very good care of me and my baby. They understood my needs and concerns. He advised me of the work that was being done, completed it in a timely manner and charged exactly what he quoted over the phone. He ever checks for things he did not have to such as my left blinker. It may seem like a small thing, but to me wanting to check for something not included in the original service is a plus. That lets me know they are a caring shop and people, and I love that. I made an appointment to get the rest of the work my baby needs. Having been in Tucson for 11 years, this is the FIRST HONEST shop that I have found. Driving home from work (on my birthday, no less) in my old beater Volvo, the front end started to sway back and forth uncontrollably. This was the closest shop I could get to, and thank God for that. They took it up on the lift for a few minutes, drove it around the block, and when I asked what was wrong they basically said "everything, the car is not long for this world." I normally had my car serviced at the dealership, and am only now realizing how many times they have gouged me on a car that should have been left on the scrap heap years ago. Express charged me nothing for looking at it, and said I should be putting whatever money I'd pay them towards a down payment on a newer car, which I would be needing very very soon. The CV boot was busted, the front suspension (ALL of it) was shot. They said they could charge me $1700 and keep it running for maybe another 6 months but there was a laundry list of leaks and squeaks other issues that would need to be addressed (at great cost) in a few thousand miles tops, and it just wasn't worth it. Sure enough, the very next day, the car bit the dust completely. I found the ball bearing from the CV joint on the sidewalk behind me. Junk For Jesus towed it off, and I was without a vehicle for two very stressful weeks. I put the money they didn't charge me towards a new car, and Express Tune Up & Lube are the ones who are going to service it for as long as I own it. They understood that I was in a tough spot money wise (and knew it was about to get worse), and didn't try to take advantage of me by letting me pump money into a vehicle that was already done for. I appreciate their honesty, and the fact that they took an hour of their time to thoroughly inspect the car even when they knew they wouldn't make a dime off of it. Taking care of your customers like that is how you make sure they come back. I'll be in for an oil change within the next couple months and I'm going to bring some pizza with me. read more

My husband loves this place. He is a regular for oil changes and has had his A/C compressor fixed for a very reasonable price. He drops it off at his lunch time, and it is always ready by the time he is off work, which makes it super convenient. Oil changes are affordable, even for semi-synthetic, which is a plus. They are $10 cheaper the Jiffy Lube's price for regular oil. The only downside of the A/C fix was a pricey diagnostic charge that wasn't applied to the cost of repair, but the trust we have in the honesty and integrity of the work done is worth it. read more

It was a little inconvenient getting a appt with them because they seem to be ALWAYS busy but I see now why they are. I am also very glad I waited and kept my appt. with them. The reviews dont lie and this is the most honest and funnest shop I have ever been in. This is family type atmosphere and a honesty that is unheard of from mechanics. I was told by the dealer during a warranty repair issue that my brakes were metal to metal and unsafe to drive. I told them ok ill take it to my normal shop.I took it to Express and told Shawn and showed him the paperwork from the dealer.He said ok and he would call me with an estimate .I went home and 1 hour later Rebekah called me and told me it was ready and to come pick it up.When i arrived i was told brakes still had decent life left and the only real issue was that the rear brakes were a little out of adjustment so they adjusted them and test drove . I was prepared to spend money but was not happy with the 300+ estimate from the ford dealer and now im glad i went here .Cost me 25 dollars to be treated HONESTLY as opposed to over 300 to be ripped off because Im a female .I have learned ford is only good for warranty work and to be honest i worry about that now too. Huge thanks to the people at Express and nice to know i dont have to worry about finding a honest ,reliable mechanic.Now if i could just find a great pediatrician too lol. read more

My daughter was traveling through Az to visit from California and had car trouble . A dads worst nightmare is there kid stranded and me almost 800 miles away. By the grace of god and the help of reading reviews on Express she was able to get her car to them and all I can say is THANK YOU !
