I booked a consultation with Bahar after having a consult with a place with outrageous prices, and after reading her fantastic Yelp reviews. This girl was so knowledgable about the different types of extensions, pros/cons, different brands, and lead me to my choice of Bellami hot fusions 18 inches over Great Lengths, which are much more expensive, but she raved about the quality. At the time I saw her, I had bright red hair, and was thinking of going back to my natural color, brown, for the extensions. To try and save me money and since I've been dying my hair myself, she told me exactly what I needed to buy at Sally to go back to brown. Unfortunately, the girl at Sally got involved and told me that wasn't going to work and gave me another product, which I ran by Bahar but did not tell her the exact color. My hair turned near black. I was so upset. I was texting Bahar and she told me to come in the next day. She spent 3 hours trying to fix it and lighten it. The end result was still one I was shocked by but she insisted it would lighten up and that it matched my roots. We color matched and picked the extensions, but she wanted to wait to order them to make sure I was OK with the color. Over the next week, I went back and forth about every 10 minutes about dying it back to red and getting red extensions. She answered my endless questions about them and what that would be like. I will admit - I am not an easy client! I did not make this simple and easy on her. But she was so patient and answered all my questions, helping me make the right decision for me. The extensions did not come in time for our scheduled appointment (they were ombred, which take longer), and she was going out of town for vacation, so I had to wait a week. When they finally came in she cleared her schedule so she could spend all day making my hair perfect. What a transformation! Check out some of the before and after pics. I included some where I had red hair as well to show the color transformation as well. The color matched perfectly, and she blended them so well with my natural hair. My after pic is with straight hair to demonstrate how well they are actually blended, since curls can hide a lot of that. While she was putting them in, she gave me all the info I needed to keep them going as long as possible. She's such a cool person so we chatted most of the time and the ~5.5 hours flew by. Her professionalism and expertise did not end after the appointment. I texted her with questions on blending the extensions on my own during styling and she replied with some suggestions. She truly wants her clients to be happy and will go to great lengths (no brand name pun intended) to make that happen! Every time she told me to trust her - she was right. I was hesitant at first, because ladies, who isn't protective of their hair?! but she was right every time and I have 100% trust in her now. This girl is a real pro. She's got my business for life. Traveling in San Diego, I was fortunate enough to find this gem to get a fantastic haircut. They are right in downtown San Diego close to the major freeways of 163 and the 5. The service is wonderful and the atmosphere relaxed - right down to the complimentary beverage. My haircut was also the perfect style for me - unlike barbers I've gone to that hack my hair up or other salons that don't seem to pick appropriate look that would suit me. In addition to haircuts, they are also certified in Hair extension, Brazialian Blowouts, color ranging from highlights, lowlights, balayage, ombre, peek-a-boos, etc... Seems like they offer a broader range than most in San Diego. Their fees for my haircut were reasonable as well - less than I would have guessed for San Diego. A week ago a lady friend accompanied me to beautiful San Diego on a business trip. One of the things she had always wanted to do was add hair extensions to her shoulder length hair. After asking around and using Google we happened upon Extensions Hair Salon. We called and she was able to get an appointment for the same day. The first thing that struck us was the clean attractive salon. We were met with a complimentary welcome drink and as a man I immediately felt comfortable as the stylist explained options and gave a mini lesson on the pros and cons, and the various types of hair extensions. I am not sure if this is typical of all salons, but it was pretty impressive how knowledgeable and patient the stylist was. My friend was able to choose from a wide variety of lengths and textures and even chose to add some color, which if I might say so, was very becoming. I busied myself working on my laptop while my friend was getting her extensions. The staff kept asking if I needed anything (and I wasn't even the customer!). Not only did Natalie my friend look like a model with her new hairdo, it looked so natural no one could tell that she had hair extensions. Oh, she was even taught how to care for her new hair and offered a follow-up by phone since we were traveling back to Atlanta. Extensions Hair Salon also offers haircuts for men, I discovered, and I would definitely use them if I am back in good old San Diego and need a little trim. I generally write pros and cons in my reviews, but my experience with hair extensions was largely positive-and enlightening. The salon is located close to Interstate 163 as well. She is also very flexible and accomodating for those last minute emergencies! For my graduation ceremony I had decided at the last minute that I needed my hair done that day and very early in the morning. Bahar came to the rescue with a side french braid ending in a bun and it was darling, made my day! She also does an amazing job with hair extensions and color.
