First, with a positive, the follow up and customer service is great. It has to be, due to the following comments listed. 2. Moved a 1 bedroom apt( bedframe , mattress, dresser , 2 TVs , and a sofa), and it took 5 hours , with a locked elevator , in the same building, separated by 2 floors.Everything additional was boxed or bagged. No loose items. 3. They attempted to change the charges the day of the move , even though we had confirmed less than 24 hours prior. Claimed the 3rd person Was due to their double booking, snow , etc . And the additional man would speed up the process . Did i mention this simple 1 bedroom move took 5 hours for an in building, one bedroom transfer? Does that seem expedited ? Everything was a group effort, and teaching moment. this slowed the move down. For example, it Took 20 minutes of discussion to figure out how to disassemble a bed frame efficiently . Constantly going back and forth to the moving truck on the clock ( for what idk ) . If not watched , disappearing for 15-20 minutes at a time . 4. I was advised that I could leave my dresser items in the drawers, and they could move them efficiently. I now have to find someone to take my dresser apart, due to items some how making their way to inside unreachable areas insiders dresser. 5. I have to find someone to reassemble my sofa. They didn't put it back together. 6. You're charged 30 minutes to and from . So, you owe an hour before they start . They didn't have to leave the property, but charged me fuel . How do you charge someone fuel, and time for arrival, and departure ? Seems like the rate is only labor . You're also charged for any items used to rap to transport furniture . The intimation that they try to give you when you book is that is inclusionary. 7. With a discount, A DISCOUNT, this move cost me $1,000. Between the random 3rd man up charge , wrapping items for the large furniture , fuel charge , insurance that they make you cover that they don't disclose until the last minute that is almost $200 additional ... 8. Moved my items into the hallway, and left them there unattended while moving. 9. Even if you pay by phone, they want you to write your credit card information on a random piece of paper. It's a hard NO, for me. Yes, I signed, and let them go about their business. It's exhausting to keep debating obvious discrepancies, and hidden fees during a move which is a top 3 stressor in general. Just .... Don't . Use someone else .

I booked my move a week in advance and paid a $100 deposit after being told it would guarantee my moving date and secure my spot. Then, only 3 days before my scheduled move, the manager -- I believe his name was David -- called to tell me they were fully booked for the entire week and that my move would either need to be rescheduled or canceled altogether. I made it very clear from the beginning that my apartment lease ends on the 31st and that I needed to move before then. Had this company been honest about the fact that paying a deposit did not actually guarantee service, I would have hired another moving company much earlier. Now I'm left scrambling at the last minute, despite having everything planned out. I also have to report to work in another state on the 1st, so this has created a major inconvenience and unnecessary stress. To make matters worse, speaking with them on the phone was a complete disaster. The communication was unprofessional, disorganized, and unacceptable. They agreed to refund the $100 deposit, but that does not make up for the inconvenience, stress, and potential consequences this situation may cause me. If I receive penalties from my landlord for a late move-out or face any employment-related consequences because of this company's failure to honor their commitment, I will absolutely be exploring all possible legal and consumer protection options.

They followed through on this and then some. Within 24 hours, I received a multiple phone calls, an updated claim and satisfactory terms and conditions that more than satisfied the issues I outline below. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I do not write reviews on Yelp, but Clutter unleashed a different beast. I used Clutter for over a year in DC. I had a positive experience with moving my stuff into storage, but they absolutely butchered getting my stuff back. Here's what happened, with accompanying pictures below. - I had wrapped my mattress using a mattress protection bag prior to being put into storage. When I saw my mattress in the storage return from Clutter, the bag had been ripped and a corner of the mattress had been dirtied. - A Clutter mover recklessly wheeled my dresser into the corner of a doorway, shattering a bottom section of the dresser and scattering wood pieces in the hallway that I cleaned myself. - When moving my bed frame into my room, the Clutter mover hit the bed frame on the wall, damaging it. My building said their vendor would charge $200 for fixing the wall. - I opted to store my guitar amplifier, a Fender Blues Junior IV. I loaded the amplifier into a box at the loading dock, placing multiple "fragile" tags on it. I recall a Clutter mover scanning the amplifier into the system. The amplifier did not show up in the system and I did not receive it during my storage return. When I asked for an original itemized list of every item picked up, they did not provide it, instead pointing to the valuation process for assessing my claim. I have every reason to believe they broke the amp or delivered it to someone else. If you are going to use them, then buy the most expensive protection plan if you're going to store valuables. But that would put the price on par with other storage companies that will actually do a job of storing your valuables. TLDR: Clutter is awful. I will never use them again. It's pretty reassuring to see the many others who agree with me. Believe us and use someone else.

    I booked this service for storage for a week and then to move my items to a new address. I explained to them then I did not get a good phone signal in the basement where I was staying and asked if they could text me and they complied. The day of the move I took off of work waited for them to arrive called the office. Several times was told they were on their way. I let the dispatcher know I was at the pick up and would wait for their arrival. I also explained I did not have a good cell signal, but I would stay there and wait. He said no problem. I waited until 5 PM. I called multiple times was always told the same thing after five. The dispatcher told me that they tried to call me and I did not pick up. I'll let them know. I had called multiple times and said to text me because I did not have a signal. I let dispatcher know I was waiting at the pick up location. To make matters worse, they charged me $259 for a service that never even happened. I disputed the charge with my credit card company and finally got my money back after two months -- only for Clutter to charge me the same amount again afterward. This is unacceptable and feels completely dishonest. I would never recommend Clutter to anyone. They wasted my time, cost me money, and treated me with zero accountability. I'm furious! I thought I'd be saving money and not only did I lose $250. The company that I ended getting at the last minute was a lot more than what I had budgeted for. The only good thing was how it sounded before I gave them my credit card number.

They were flexible with us as we had to reschedule due to weather, and had several complicated moves that were handled very well. As with any move, we took care ourselves to wrap things, communicate our needs and expectations, but I would do that with any mover. Ask questions, clarify and explain what you want. All furniture was wrapped carefully with moving blankets and secured and all breakables were treated with care. I've never seen a team of people work so hard!

It wasn't intentional, but the amount of damage we saw was much more than what I would have been okay with. The furniture and location was difficult however given that everything made it to where they needed to be, I'm sure it could have been done much more carefully. That made this pretty mid tier service. So 3 stars. And that's what we initially put in our review. But then after putting in our claim on damages with ample proof of damages, and also our honest review, my wife received a call from one of the movers asking us to take down the poor review because they would get in trouble with the owners. Now I'm wondering goes on behind the scenes because the good reviews seems much more shady now. How many other reviews got asked to be taken down? They got the move done and did it relatively quick given the difficulty. The price was rather high given the quality of work completed. And given how quick they were to request us to take a poor review down to me deserves an even poorer review. Honestly, if they had taken accountability right away to the damages I would have felt better about a simple 3 star review. I can't in good conscience recommend Zip Moving and Storage.

His team of two movers got everything down to the truck speedily, while Abba carefully wrapped up all of my larger and more valuable items. They made it to the new location pretty quickly, and also unpacked carefully and quickly. They had me inspect the truck once they were done just to ensure all of my belongings were out, and took care of the bill, which was exactly the rate we had agreed upon during scheduling. They stood around wondering what the best way to get things downstairs was so my husband who was very frustrated by their pace just started doing it himself and exhausting himself which was why we hired them in the first place. 4 grown men who's job it is to move things should know how to do this. Our property isn't unique for Nova so I'm not sure where the confusion came from. We have 2 small kids and did a lot of the work to get things done for them but somehow these guys stretched it to an 11 hour day because gotta make that cash, right?! Then at the end My husband asked them to wait so he could double check if anything big was left and when he noticed they left a whole big tv box on our top level, they were driving away. Didn't even listen to him and had the nerve to say they would charge him for the box if we kept it. What?!! Soo much stuff was left for us after they left and they didn't put a single piece of furniture in the right place at our new house. We said "in the corner" and they put it 2 feet from the corner...moving with kids we have exhausted ourselves beyond belief getting moved and these people made the journey not only expensive but soooo very difficult. We had to go back and move extra thigh and clean for a few hours.. very stressful. Major waste and would absolutely never recommend them. Insane amount of up charges ($400 worth of tape as though they don't buy it in bulk). Never again! Our new house is a tornado of things none of which are in the right place and I'm so upset and overwhelmed. What's hilarious is that they wrapped everything like crazy but still broke a wheel from our fridge and just said "oh". No apologies, no offer to fix it, no we can take off something for you... nothing. Then $3000 later they asked if we wanted to tip on top of this nightmare of an experience...very bold, but the only tip I can offer is "Do better. Much better"
