I had a storage here at this location. I recently came and and got all of my belongings OUT. I was paying $300 a month. No problem. I felt it was a little pricey, but I thought it was a nice clean place. Well place is clean and nice, but customer service SUCKS. I pulled up one afternoon, and as I got out of my car, the lady that works there and lives upstairs or manages the place comes half way out the door on the phone and tells me without me even speaking to her and proceeds to tell me to read the door. That's fine but her whole delivery was rude. She treated me as if i was committing a crime by now walking toward where she was. She tells me, "I am off today, go read the door." I tell her i have a storage here and i just want to get my code. Now, thats not a problem, if she had not said anything to me in the first place. That would have been ok. I could have walked up to the door, and looked for myself , but the fact that she said anything to me in the first place is the problem. If she didnt want to help, she should have left me alone. I then was upset and she started to yell at my dad that had no idea what was going on because he pulled after i had this conversation with the lady that works at the storage. She then proceeds to yell from her balcony that i was "talking shit". I didnt need to "talk shit " because i simply was telling her exactly what i stated before. She then yells and says her mother is sick and she is mad. I then told her, we all have problems, my auntie just died so we all have problems. But i dont appreciate her talking to me the way she did. If she did not want to be of help on her day off, she should have let me be when i was exiting my vehicle. I would tell anyone, if you ate big on customer service DO NOT COME HERE because when she is having a bad day, she will treat you like you do not spend your hard earned money. read more

YES BEWARE! It could have a been a 5-star review because the space is fine and so is the access. However 5 months after I signed up Extra Space increased my rate by $24/month. When I called they said I had a short-term "promotional" rate. This was complete news to me! It's an easy tactic: rent at a competitive price, and once the person moves in, raise it arbitrarily. It's a lot of work to move my furniture again, and they know it and take full advantage. I believe it's corporate policy at Extra Space, and has nothing to do with the manager who runs the facility. However the manager put an immense amount of pressure on me to buy their extra insurance even though I kept repeating that I was already insured and had the paperwork to prove it. Only when I said I would take my business elsewhere did he relent. Update: after complaining Extra Space agreed to lower the increase by $5/month. When I said that I received an email after signing up that shows that this was not a "promotion" they responded that the contract allows for any increase with 30 day notice. So there, renter BEWARE. read more

Storage was fine, no complaints. Secure, clean, great on site managers. I was there for several years, a couple small rent increases but ok. Problem was a sudden rent increase of 66%. So I moved, got a bigger space for a lot less nearby. I don't recommend Extra Space Storage... read more

The nicest people ever! We weren't sure where we were actually storing our things from Az until we arrived! Clean, easy to get to facility. You just never know what you'll find but these folks were so accommodating, honest and fair. Never felt like they were going to rip us off. I have been using Extra Space Storage for (too) many years now. I definitely recommend using them if you have my problem - which is too much stuff and too little space. The facility is well run, always clean and safe. I've never had a problem with security, leaks or anything else. read more

This place is clean. The couple that manages this location ( Chris and Andre) are truly kind good natured folks. They have provided me with excellent service. When I moved out of one of the units I was renting they grabbed two items that I accidentally left behind- they called me and let me know and even hung onto these items for over ten days until I was able to return and claim them. As far as cleanliness, security and staff goes, this facility is great. I've rented units there for a number of years and been very pleased with everything...except the spiraling upward cost. The Extra Space headquarters continue to jack up the rental rates every year. My 2 units are costing me more than twice what they did when I signed up and I just got a notice that the 5x10 is going up another $23 next month. I am truly looking forward to the day when I can say good-bye to these units. read more

Andre and Chris have run this facility since they opened it in January 2000, and it's clear they take pride in maintaining a top-condition facility. It's secure (units are individually alarmed - and tied to your personal PIN code), convenient (our "interior" unit is only about 15 feet from the car), and very reasonably priced. We prepaid a year to lock in the introductory rate, which also got us an extra month free. I'm confident our stuff is in good hands. read more

I rented a space for my stuff on 4/11. I called first, and spoke with Andre, who was very nice on the phone. When I got there, he showed me the space that would accommodate my belongings, explained all the rental terms, and made sure that all my questions were answered. The facility is quite secure and well-lit. Andre was great to work with, he made my experience as good as renting a storage space could be. He was professional, friendly, and made me feel like I had picked the right place. He and Christine run a pretty great business. read more

The couple that runs it is knowledgeable about their product and super to deal with on getting into the unit or set up or moving out. I went in to get my unit at another location in California. They got the paperwork done and that wasn't so easy and secured my unit for November in another county. Stay away from Public Storage! The people that run their facilities are not knowledgeable or helpful and most at locations didn't speak English. I don't know the top 5 languages spoken in America just ole' English. read more

I rented a storage unit here for 2 1/2 years. In that time, I had many interactions with Chris and Andre, who manage the facility (back in the days when it was All Aboard). they are the best-very knowledgeable, very courteous and always professional no matter how trivial the issue. The facility is well-kept, safe and I never had to worry about my stuff being stored there. Six years ago I had to find a storage quickly as I was deploying to Iraq. These folks were there and helped massage all my concerns. They took the time to explain everything from A to Z and gave me a tour of the facility. They listened to my situation and set my concerns at ease. I have had many an occasion to interact with the staff and management there over the past six years and have enjoyed each one. Although I will no longer be needing their services, I would suggest them to anyone that maybe in need of a storage facility. I can not speak highly enough about them. read more

Renters BEWARE! They will do everything they can to get you in; Give you a grand tour of the property, offer the use of their box truck, and even a great First Month Discount. Once you're in, it's different story. The "know-it-all" attitude reveals itself with the 2 managers on duty (Husband and Wife duo). Rates increased for us more than 25% in the 4 months we were there. They forced their insurance on you, which other companies offer the option to use their insurance if you don't have your own. My First month rate with insurance was $139 (online special without insurance was $115) then second month rose to $159? Then come to find out "The median price for the area was $199/mo for a 10x10 drive up unit" according to the manager. Which is why I left because my new rate for my next month was gonna be adjusted to $179! Talk about getting raped. If you know your storing needs won't be long term, like just for 1-2 months then us them, otherwise, make the travel 5 miles down the road and choose a more functional operation. Also be careful and watch out for the trains crossing too. read more

Andre and Christine are great. Helpful and efficient. Prices are better than other places and they have a free truck. The facility is clean and well cared for. The only issue is that the train sometimes prevents you from entering or leaving. Some of the trains are very long and slow, keeping you waiting up to 10 minutes. Otherwise, you really can't beat this place. read more

The owners here were my business clients for years so when i needed a storage unit i came to them. I couldnt be happier. The price is competitive for the space offered and the location couldn't be better. The property management lives on site so the facility is never left unattended. The staff here gets to know you on a personal level and whenever you come around they make you like family. A majority of their clients have been with them for years which says alot about how well this facility is ran and out of all the storage facilities in the area All Aboard Mini maintains the highest occupancy levels and rarely if ever raise their rates like alot of other places are known to do. In closing if you want affordable storage All Aboard in Richmond would be the only place id personally recommend. read more

We stored an absolute ton of stuff in two giant units when we sold our house in 2007. Over the years, we consolidated into one giant unit and then into a smaller one. Finally found new homes for all our stored stuff this year and closed the unit down. I felt a little misty eyed knowing this was the last time I'd be making the drive up to Richmond and chatting with Andre and Christine. What a wonderful couple! True professionals and all-around nice people. Each time we changed units they made everything as fast and easy as possible. The pricing is very reasonable and the facility is as clean and bright and secure as can be. I highly recommend this place to anyone who needs some extra space! read more
