I used this place for storing files for work. What a difference compared to Public Storage! The prices are high compared to other places in the county, but hey, it's the Westside and Santa Monica so it's typical. The staff are super nice and there's plenty of parking. There's also a loading dock which makes moving quick and easy. The only downside is that it's on the south side of Olympic, so if you're coming from the east, you're going to have to drive past and make a u-turn. read more

I just started my lease with Extra Space so at this point I can only review the application process as well as meeting with their representative to get my lock, view my unit, and get my access code. So far, their service has been excellent. I spoke with Barbara on the phone on Thursday and she was helpful. I was able to review everything over the phone and was emailed the contracts to complete. On Friday, I went to the facility and was helped by Amaya. I was also able to purchase some boxes at their office. He was thorough and he made sure my access code worked before I left. It actually failed once so we fixed it and all is good now. I am so glad we did the double check! I will review this facility again in a few months when I have more experience with them. read more

I generally hate and am philosophically against everything having to do with storage. However, when my mom moved, I had to move my dads "collection" into storage until we could sell it. In all, we used Extra Space Storage for 18 months. Even with my negative feelings about storage, I had a wonderful experience with Extra Space, Karina, the manager, and the facility itself. They sent me a payment confirmation email and text every month so that I wouldn't have to worry about ending up on Storage Wars. The facility was always clean and felt extremely safe. When it was time to move out, Karina went above and beyond to assist me, staying open late to provide me information about my account, which she did not have to do. If you are considering utilizing a storage facility on the westside, you won't find better than Extra Space on Olympic. Never in my life have a been so disappointed with services not only was my employee harassed racial profile in front of my son but the demeanor of this representative William Smith was so rude and unprofessional to my employee and to my son to belittle them and to harass them. My employee and my son are very hard-working people clearing out astorage within a 24 hour to 48 hour time frame as given to us by storage treasures we filled our agreement but we're denied our deposit back that we had given at the beginning of our contract this man did not only belittle humiliate embarrassed but Was so proud of his demeanor towards my employee and my son will I ever do business with them again read more

They lied to me and told me that the rent wouldn't increase for at least a year. Guess what? It went up $50 within 4 months. They know this. It's bait and switch to get you to sign up and move in with a lower rate, and they know it's a hassle to move out once you're in. This location smells of human feces inside, there are homeless living inside the units and the staff doesn't seem to care. Not reccomended. read more

This facility is the best storage place I have ever used. Terri made moving in so easy and convenient. She was professional and friendly. She was available whenever I needed something. Run, do not walk away from this self storage facility. My unit was broken in to over the Fourth of July weekend and the staff have been completely useless. Since the burglary had to have taken place sometime between today and last Saturday (July 3rd, '21) they said that they were not responsible because there was no one on the premises during the time they were closed. However, they NEVER have anyone on the premises after they close until they they open, whether it be the next day or over a long weekend. NO SECURITY, WHATSOEVER! EVER! When I asked if they had reviewed the security tape they acted very suspicious. I asked if the actual facility showed any signs of burglary (since there would have to have been in order for someone to have been able to access the individual units inside.). They would not give me a straight answer, which is why I know it was an inside job. After they called me with with the news at the end of today, I immediately went to the facility and there was already a couple ahead of me who also had be burglarized! They had had their stuff in their less than a week! I told "W.", the front desk guy that I was going to rent a Pod and empty what is left of my belongings in their storage units (I have two) in to the Pod and do you know what "W." had the nerve to say? "Well, you can't have it (the Pod) here on site more than 24 hours because we can't guarantee the safety of your belongings!" Gee - I think I'll take my chances, dumb-ass. read more

Be very cautious. This place does not have security and gets broken into. Do not store anything you care about. Our unit was broken into with a crow bar. On top of not having security the locks can very easily be broken into with a crow bar. I was notified about our unit being broken into without even an apology. I was told I needed to call the police as the facility doesn't even report the break in. Beware!!! read more

My experience for Extra Space Storage has been awesome. From booking the storage unit to checking out, everyone I've worked with there has been sooo NICE. Ryan the manager called several times to confirm my unit, and also provided me numbers to call in case front desk person was showing unit around. If you talk to him, you can just tell he's a good guy. The day I was going in to book my unit, I had called and let front desk know that I might be late. He assured me he'd wait, and it's ok... Once again, Nice! WHen I was checking out of my unit, I spoke to Ryan again, and his customer service skills impressed me again. The entry in and out of the parking lot into the actual storage unit has a gate, which needs a key security code. So, not everyone can get into it. THe few times I've been there felt safe, and clean. I stored my belongings here for a few months while in the process of moving. This place has amazing customer service. I really did a lot of research before choosing this one, and in the end, this place exceeded my expectations. Every interaction with management and other employees was absolutely fantastic. Payment was also very easy. The place is clean, secure and they have many perfectly functioning carts to help you get your stuff in and out. There was one time I came and they were fixing the elevator. Fortunately, I didn't need it at the time, but had I, it only would've been a short wait as when I came back everything was fixed. Clearly, they make sure when there is an issue that things get fixed immediately. I can't recommend this place enough! read more

The bicycle riding has stopped and rarely do I see someone without a mask. This is an okay storage solution if you're not in need of temperature control. Staff are cheerful and helpful. It's clean inside, the elevator works well, and there's a larger roll-up door when you have a pallet full of stuff. Sometimes it can be hard to find a dolly--especially if someone has a moving company there, because they hog everything. A couple notes: the interior walls are pretty cheap drywall. There's no ceiling over the second floor units, just a wire grid. Sometimes, parking can be a pain, based on where the ramp up to the entrance to the storage unit is. I'm also not a fan of where the key entry locations are, because it means you're either on the wrong side of the "road" going in or coming out. Please, for the love of sanity, don't even think of asking a moving trailer to come in here, because they have to back in (blocking eastbound Olympic while they do so), and then blocking any parked cars inside the facility gates. Hallways inside are about three or three and a half feet--just barely wide enough to move a flatbed dolly through. Also, there are actual doors that swing out, instead of the roll-up doors that would save space and provide more security. It looks like this facility was purchased from another company, so I can't blame them for that. There's a strange odor lingering in the second floor--kind of like "vet clinic/animal feed", not terribly pleasant. read more
