I walked in while visiting the new Lawrence plaza and scheduled an appointment for later in the afternoon (they are new so they still have a relatively light patient load). Dr. Kim was an extremely nice and caring doctor, and made me feel very welcome. After my eye exam I browsed their large selection of frames for some new glasses. They have mostly high end designer frames, but the prices aren't horrible. They do have some more mid range frames so I ended up choosing a decently priced Chaps frame. One HUGE plus is the onsite lab. They were able to have my new glasses cut and ready within 30 minutes while I browsed some very nice sun glasses. I was tempted to buy some new shades, but resisted. The receptionist was very attentive and gave honest opinions on how different styles fit on me. Overall, I believe I've found my shop for future optical needs and am very happy with my experience. It's also nice that the office is inside a larger shopping complex with great food and internet access as well. My family first visited Eye Boutique and Dr. Oh about a year ago because my 9-year old son did not like wearing his glasses and we heard about Ortho-K therapy and the positive results a family we know had experienced with their child going through the therapy. My son has been on the program about a year and the results have been amazing! For a kid in grade school that no longer has to wear glasses in school, that is a big deal for them AND he can actually see! So as I struggled with my own trifocals glasses and the frustration of them, I decided go see Dr. Oh instead of my old optometrist and see what she could do. She performed a very comprehensive exam including a full retinal scan of my eyes and asked me tons of questions around what I have experienced over the years while wearing contacts and glasses to understand my experiences. As I aged, I needed progressive lenses so I haven't worn contacts in over 10 years. After the full exam and to my amazement, Dr. Oh let me try on a pair of contacts to see what I thought. My vision for distance, intermediate and close was perfect while wearing the lenses. I was amazed that this could be accomplished with contact lenses. In addition to ordering the contact lenses, I decided to get some glasses for driving and reading as well to use when as needed. Overall, I was pleased with the level of detail, options, professionalism and caring that Dr. Oh and her wonderful staff provided. I have seen them do that with my son for the past year and now I am on the receiving end of it as well. I just can't believe I waited this long to schedule my own appointment. read more

I agree with other folks here. Dr. Hung Sun Chung was very kind and professional (only reason I gave a star). However, the staff was absolutely terrible and unprofessional. My insurance plan is a bit complicated, the staff just blindly rejected it, and refused my request for her to call and confirm with the insurance. What's so hard about making a call? I am very impressed with this eye exam and glasses store. I've been coming here for many years to buy contacts and get eye exams. The staff are always very welcoming and friendly. The doctors I've seen are also very polite and professional. Don't worry about coming here during Covid! I saw the staff rotating to disinfect all the appliances, tables, glasses cases etc multiple times when I was waiting for my appointment. Excellent optometry place, great customer service, knowledgeable and very professional doctors and staff. I saw Dr. Oh for a contact lens fitting. She was great and took the time to explain to me the new contact lens technologies. As an engineer, I am a very picky person that insists in understanding exactly what is being done and why, and really want to get the best solution possible. I was very pleased with the contacts the gave me, but asked for a small tweak on the trial prescription a week later. She examined me again and made a change in the prescription. I left and had to call her back 15 mins later to thank her for the change. My distance vision was now perfect! I was impressed with their selection of frames as well. I might also order regular glasses in addition to the contacts. I highly recommend both Dr. Oh and the optometry shop. Go to them and you will be happy you did. read more

I have been seeing the doctors here for four years and counting and have always had exceptional service by the doctors and staff, never anything less. We all have different kinds of insurance and different coverages and the staff here really work with providers in order to pass as much value to the customer as possible. Over the course of my visits, I have purchased contacts and eyeglasses, and have never felt any pressure for upselling or to purchase things I do not need. In the world where Luxottica and unilateral prices dominate the world of frames and contact lenses, patients should really be shopping around for an establishment that that provides the best service. I am now an Ortho-K (aka orthokeratology, night lenses, dream lenses, eye retainers) patient by Dr. Oh. The staff has taken care of me with the required regimen of exams and the doctor has been very informative on the process and what to expect, and I could not have asked for anything more. We all wish we had perfect jet-fighter ace level vision, but some of us just don't get that lucky. Despite that, you will get outstanding service at Eye Boutique Optometry as I have been for all these years. read more

My elderly mother lives in nearby Pacific Gardens Assisted Living. Eye Boutique was a great option for her to get new glasses. It is nearby, and they will bill Medicare. My mother had Dr. Somi Oh, who was great. Also, the staff were very friendly and wonderful to my 93-year-old mother. For anyone with a parent at Pacific Gardens or another nearby assisted living facility, I recommend Eye Boutique. All in all, a friendly place, and Dr. Oh is a very competent doctor. You can also pick up some wings at Wing Stop next door, or shop for shoes at the Payless. A nice location. read more

I will keep this brief. Dr. Oh kept trying to sell me things I didn't need including three pairs of glasses instead of one, Orthokeratology, daily contacts when I have always used monthly. She then got my eyes mixed up for the glasses and contacts prescription, which was confirmed by another Doctor in her practice. Dr. Oh refused to give me my prescription, so I couldn't order my contacts directly from my insurance. I later found out it is is illegal and against the Federal Trade Commission's regulations to not give a patient their prescription. read more

My review is based on my experience with front desk staff, Dr. Sandra Lee, and eyeglasses selection. I came here just to buy a pair of frames, as my previous optometrist's office doesn't have as much variety to cater to the younger crowd. I spent maybe an hour or more trying on and debating. Dr. Lee also came out and chatted with me and helped me try on frames, as well. The staff was very kind and helpful. There were frames that I really liked but eventually, decided to do more research at home. Most offices at that point would be annoyed that I didn't buy anything and just left, but even after leaving, they were willing to help me over the phone! I found Rayban frames online that I really liked but the office didn't carry, so they specifically ordered them so I could come in and try them on! They even said that I didn't need to buy them if I didn't end up liking it. If that isn't superb service, I don't know what is. I ended up really liking them, they gave me a 20% discount (I didn't even get lenses filled) on top of accepting my insurance. They were so helpful and accommodating. I'm giving two stars to this place because my first experience there was excellent. The last experience will be my final one. The first time I went there, Dr. Lee was helpful, cordial, and it was a nice, run-of-the-mill optometry visit. The optician seemed a little impatient when I was picking out my frames, but some people lack customer service skills, so I'm used to ignoring that. The second and last (and final) time that I went there, I was seen by Dr. Oh. She was nice enough, but I felt like I was hooked into a sales pitch for her corrective therapy. She admitted that it's expensive, and yet, kept trying to sell me on it. My vision had become significantly worse since my previous visit. Not surprising, as my father is incredibly near-sighted. I expected a bit more of a decrease in my vision, especially because I am still in my 20s. She blamed ME for my eyesight deteriorating, as if she was going to guilt me into trying her expensive corrective therapy. I do the right things. I alternate my glasses and contacts, and don't walk around without my corrective lenses (I CAN'T! I can't even see without them). Since when should an optometrist blame a patient for the condition of their eyes, except perhaps in cases of infection? What a humiliating experience. Never again. read more

Dr. Somi examined my eyes. She patiently listened all my concerns and addressed all the questions. For ordering glasses I didn't find more models in their store then they told me that I can choose anything online and tell them the model number. I found a model and informed them and they made the order and taken care sending it insurance. Dr. Somi has great team, Soyoung, Anisha and Cristela were friendly and taken care of getting my glasses by following up with insurance. Everytime they have answered when ever I made a call to them. Good part is they are accurate on deadlines promised to me. No complaints. I recommended it to few of friends and they are also satisfied. read more

I had an appointment for regular eye check up here. But i missed it twice invariably, still they were very polite & understood my reasons for it. Am very glad with their customer service. I do not know the name od doctor , she was from Taiwan i remember, she was really awesome and did a thorough check upon my eyes. Worst experience ever! Some kid who I dont even think is qualified... Dr. Zhang didnt know how to use more than half of the equipment, didnt do a through exam and then told me to put in contact lenses in last years prescription since I didnt have any issues! Ive been going to the optometrist for over 10 years and I expect certain tests to be completed, which she didnt do. I would avoid because it is not a legitimate optometry practice. read more

I don't use yelp, but I've been meaning to write a review about Eye Boutique. I was eating at the next door wingstop and I was due for an eye examination soon. Upon entering the store, the staff was very friendly, greeted me even though the store was a little busy. They let me know that they were currently booked and wouldn't be taking any walk ins and also let me know I could set an appointment in the future if that was possible. I let them know I would be taking a look at the frames and get back to them. The store was clean, but when looking at some of the frames, I noticed a small little black bug crawling around near the shelves. When I looked closer I noticed it was a cockroach! I felt a little disgusted so I had to leave quickly. Honestly, I would have given the place 1 star if it weren't for their friendly staff... Wouldn't come here again because I absolutely hate bugs. Dr. Oh told me to get 2 glasses for my eyes so I did. However, the staff was confused when I should use them so I have more headache now. Not only that, I got two of my glasses here but I have to say both of them are useless. It is not comfortable on my nose or my ears, I even changed the nose pad on both glasses. I should've get a better glasses elsewhere with better expertise. No I will not do another eye exam or buy a glasses here again. read more
