This place, and everyone that works in it, are lovely. My 8y old and I were both in need of new glasses- and the ease with which we were able to maneuver back to back appointments for the following day (online, through their website no less) as well as the process of picking out glasses, was painless, if not a little fun. I typically liken picking out a new pair of glasses to shopping for clothes (traumatic), or getting a new cell phone (you wouldn't believe how long I held on to my blackberry) or, I don't know... getting your wisdom teeth pulled. For me, these aren't fun tasks- they're tedious, and purely done out of necessity... and while I'm always happy in the long run, I grimace through the whole process. I mention all this, because someone able to make shopping for a new pair of glasses a less arduous process, must be quite something. As it turns out, that someone, works at EyeCon... Avan was both knowledgeable and thorough. He explained the best qualities of each pair I tried on, was able to find comparable options in different price points; his opinions (which I appreciated) regarding how any particular pair of glasses looked, were spot on, with reasonable explanations as to why he held any particular opinion. He was patient with my child and patient with me, and I never felt rushed, or uneasy. I left feeling less queasy regarding my final decision than I ever have before... which is saying a lot, since I've been wearing glasses since shortly after the Berlin Wall came down. The storefront is beautiful with many options ranging from Tom Ford and Ferragamo, to an über affordable option by EyeCon and all the tried and true brands (Ray-ban, Tiffany, Vogue, Prada) in-between. **Big perk- they have an impressive amount of kids glasses... all different styles (as opposed to most other places which usually carry one of maybe 3 styles that are so hideous, you'd rather let your child be blind...) Okay, kidding. Though the designer should really stop in for an eye exam at EyeCon. The exam rooms are clean and both Dr. Ha and her technician/assistant were knowledgeable and charming. I'm so happy to have found a place that has a boutique feel, with genuinely happy and helpful people working, yet also fulfills some of the perks usually reserved for the big cookie cutter mall conglomerates... I'm sending my husband in on Monday for an exam/glasses... really excited to see what he will come home with! read more

With age my eyesight has softened. It was time to get glasses or contacts. The doctor suggested I get contacts and glasses to protect my eyes as I have a lazy eye, so they worry about me damaging my good eye. Today was the 2nd visit (the first one was at their sister office for the regular eyesight test). Today's visit was for contacts. Came here for a contact lens exam/prescription. Making appointments was easy and great. The doctor and Alexis in particular are amazing ! They are super sweet and patient. Alexis helped me with the contact lens training and was very helpful. You can tell she is very knowledgeable when it comes to contacts. The doctor also checked my glasses prescription to make sure everything was up to date which was a bonus since I came here for contacts! The place is nice and neat. I definitely recommend! Been here before and I had Raul help me. No pressure from him as we picked the best glasses and still keep it under budget. I had to get progressives which is fine and need to get use to it. Dr. Ha took good care of me and my eye medical needs. Need more testing that I decided to be handle by my health specialist via Health Net. Requested the sunglasses shield as my eyes were displayed and we were off. Whole ordeal took an hour or so. Definitely coming back next year for my annual checkup. read more

When you make an appointment for the first time they ask for your billing info because if you don't show up they charge you a 30 dollar no-show fee. The eye exam and doctor are pleasant. Eyecon Optometry does not have a a big selection of frames, they have less than 50 on display and that's being generous. Once you choose a frame, you are given the price but aren't offered any other options. I got prescription sunglasses because I need them for my work commute. Sandra did not offer me polarized, anti glare, anti scratch nor did she mentioned that the lenses were not gonna be Ray Ban original (just the frames). She did not provide me a copy of my order just my credit card receipt. I called the office to ask why the Ray Ban logo was missing and they said I had to deal with Ray Ban directly because they can't do that in their lab. I asked why wasn't I informed of this and the manager said I should have known this information. I also asked why I didn't get a receipt of my order and he said you could've asked Sandra for it. I feel like I got tricked into making business with them. Management said all items are final sale. I already paid for something I didn't want, save yourselves the trouble. read more

I took my wife there like several months ago after she bought a livingsocial "deal". My wife wanted contact lenses and the optometrist didn't want to give her contacts, actually insisted. As a business owner myself, It obviously looked she was trying to steer us toward cheap prescription glasses(because we are through livingsocial and there no profit to be made from contact lenses). At the end my wife chose her glasses (within the value of the loving social). However; the girl in the front kept pushing us to buy other expensive brand. My wife told her, I don't usually buy expensive glasses because I have kids and I'm clumsy they always end up breaking. The girl replied 'Oh they end up breaking because they're cheap?'. After, we went straight to Costco to get her contact lenses. No problem ordered them. Come the following week to pick them up, my wife noticed the glasses are kinda crooked and need adjustment. So we give it to the guy at Costco. While he's trying to apply heat he noticed that he can't really adjust it and asked us if we repaired these glasses before. We were like no! we just bought them!. Then he explained that the glasses been broken before and welded or glued (don't know the term). So he can't really adjust it and taking the risk of breaking it. So that's the story and the reason why I wrote this review months later. Because I saw they're running a "deal" again on livingsocial and felt like sharing. I first visited EyeCon 2 years ago with my husband and son, who needed eye exams. They saw Dr. Ha and was given thorough exams and she answered all the questions we had. She was extremely nice, patient and professional. My little family of 4 returned a couple of weeks ago for check ups and since Dr. Ha no longer works on the weekends, we were seen by Dr. Matsuno. She saw my son first and gave him a thorough exam. She took her time and was very patient with him. She checked and rechecked his sight to make sure the correct prescription was given. My exam was a bit different. Unfortunately, I also had my 15 month old daughter with me and when my husband stepped out, she decided to go crazy and of course, it was time for my exam. Dr. Matsuno went ahead and did my exam with my crazy, crying daughter on my lap! AND she was very nice about it and worked as best as she could to give me a thorough exam. Awesome! After I had my eyes checked, she dilated them and I was given some contact lenses to try on while waiting for my eyes to dilate. I then sat with the optician/frames specialist, Uyen to choose frames. She went case by case, taking the ones that I seemed interested out and we sat down to try them all on until I found the perfect pair. She did the same with my son. All in all, it was a great experience. They have a great staff and wide selection of designer frames. I will be returning. read more

I came to Eyecon to get an eye exam and an order of contacts. I left with all that, a pair of sunglasses and a new regular optometrist. I've had impaired vision for around 20 years now and in all those years of optometrist visits this place was by far the best. The doctor is extremely passionate about eye care and informed me about potential health issues and ways to improve my eye health that no other doctor had ever even mentioned. She really took the time to explain how to better improve my overall health and take care of my vision and it really just make me think how lacking all the other eye exams I've had in the past have been. I bought their Groupon deal and booked my appointment through Groupon's site (new feature) only to find out from an EyeCon staff that Groupon made a mistake with their availability and my chosen day/time has already been taken. So they booked me for another date only to find out a week after that the Dr will be at a conference that day and that they had to move me to yet another time. Really?! You'd think that they know their Dr's schedule (apparently not). So of course I am no longer happy when I had to return their call to yet again reschedule my 3rd attempt to redeem my voucher - but it didn't stop there. This business thought that they can have some 16 year old philosopher (or at least that's how he wants to sound like) to pick up the phone and deal with their new potential clients. I relayed to him my frustration about setting up my first appointment but this is what he had to tell me: "What can we do, the Dr is at a conference that day" ---Like I choose that day for myself?! "We didn't know that you have been moving your appointments around because of this." ----Like I don't have a life besides making an appt for this company. "If you want a refund, then call Groupon" ---What a way to win new customers - THEY DON'T CARE! So save yourself the trouble and DO NOT BUY ANY DEALS FROM THIS BUSINESS, YOU WILL REGRET IT!!! Not only that the staff is super welcoming and friendly, but Dr. Laura Ha is also someone who knows what she's doing and would give me detailed explanation of what's going on with my eyes.
