Again for one vanity installation. I went to my moms the following morning to look at the estimate. Much to my surprise she had already given them $2500. Initial installment of 925 and three days later another $1500. And all this was not a single shred of work done. Needless to say I panicked. The first thing I did was start to look up the company on yelp and then in the contractors licensing board. I found good and bad reviews on yelp. And one dispute in progress on the Contractors Licensing site. I then looked up the address which is a mailbox place. I Google earthed it and called and spoke to them to verify their address. It is indeed a mailbox business. I begin conversations with Jonathan construction. I told the sales person what I had found out about their location and expressed the fact that I thought $9000 was indeed outrages to charge for at the installation of one vanity. He kept explaining that building was behind the address they state as their own. They sent down big alarms to me. He even sent me pictures. He diagnosed the problem with the door (hardware holding glass shower door on its track was broken and needed to be replaced), replaced the hardware, and returned the next day to finish the project. First the good. Quick install and reasonable price…read more Now the bad - I waited over a month for parts. They also didn't tell me that I had to paint all the work that they did, myself (might be important to know when you make the deal!). After they were done, they rushed out of here without giving me a walkthrough or an inspection. I was lucky to find a couple of problems myself before they drove away and had to chase the boss outside before they bolted to the next job. They left gummy stickers and brown wrapping material all over the glass. (My wife and I took 2+ hours to remove it) They damaged some of my moulding that I had to repair. They didn't even caulk the window, door or trim work and there were ugly gaps in the trim that I ended up doing myself just to get rid of this outfit. I found the warranty info in an envelope on the floor after they left. Very bad. Communication? failing grade. Have fun getting them to respond to an email or a call. Forget this company. I had let them know that I needed more work, a front door and some others. They never even responded. Guess my needs aren't important enough for them. I paid the balance in cash and the boss refused to give me a receipt (he said he didn't have any) until he got home to email it. I sweated that one out. In conclusion, I know I got a break on the price but that is NO excuse for doing a shoddy job or for the boss not to inspect the team's work afterward or even return phone calls or respond to emails. Will not use again. I'd rather pay more somewhere else for a pro job. Never again.

Steven Byroads has a…read morelong-winded voice message lasting several minutes about being semi-retired and only responding to calls a couple of days a week and that it may take time to hear back from him. Steven Byroads called back on June 2, 2022 at 5 PM. He charges $350.00 just to do a consultation / assessment / estimate. I questioned this consultation fee as I want to do all of the windows which will cost somewhere in the range of $20,000 - $30,000. Byroads said he is semi-retired and that his time is better spent doing other things. If he is going to come over and spend his valuable, semi-retired time with me instead of doing other things, he needs to be paid for it. I declined. It's clear to me that his heart really isn't in it anymore - I certainly don't want anyone working on my home with that attitude. I have contacted a dozen window companies, and Doctor Door & Window is the only one to ask for a fee just to make an estimate. How on God's green earth did he get a 2019 Angie's List Super Service Award?

I even left a message asking if only one window was not a big enough job. No response. On one phone call a women answered and said she would look back through the emails to find my request. Still waiting, (10 days.) I'm moving on.
