The reason I have to give 3 stars instead of 5 is because of their communication. Be ready to chase them down and make repeated calls. I had that experience when trying to get them to do the original work, and then again recently for a very small repair. I recently accidentally broke the shower guard at the bottom Of a shower door. I asked them if they could come out and fix it. I called and left multiple messages, even spoke to a lady on the phone and she said they'd get back to me. Nothing. Not even a call back to tell me it's not worth their time. I get the feeling they prefer dealing with large installations such as apartment complexes or businesses and would rather not deal with smaller single family homes. I always wonder how so many contractors stay in business when they refuse to return phone calls. Apparently they're doing well enough that they don't have to. If you can get these guys to come out and do work they do a good job, just be prepared to chase them down.

They are well worth it. This glass is impressively steadfast in its job. These are quite a few windows and a couple French doors. Much cooler and feels secure and solid and perfect. And handsome. My doors and windows are clearly gorgeous! Mike checked and double-checked with me before I signed the order. Everything was top shelf professionally. The crew doing the work were very considerate of my home and appropriately covered and lay down cardboard for their walkways in house. No mishaps. I had not found such good work as well as such a fine work ethic in many years living in Los Angeles. I would recommend absolutely.

Steven Byroads called back on June 2, 2022 at 5 PM. He charges $350.00 just to do a consultation / assessment / estimate. I questioned this consultation fee as I want to do all of the windows which will cost somewhere in the range of $20,000 - $30,000. Byroads said he is semi-retired and that his time is better spent doing other things. If he is going to come over and spend his valuable, semi-retired time with me instead of doing other things, he needs to be paid for it. I declined. It's clear to me that his heart really isn't in it anymore - I certainly don't want anyone working on my home with that attitude. I have contacted a dozen window companies, and Doctor Door & Window is the only one to ask for a fee just to make an estimate. How on God's green earth did he get a 2019 Angie's List Super Service Award?

Very friendly, professional technician, Israel, came over with his helper. He found the problem within less than 10 minutes. It seems there had been a small structural misalignment, possibly the result of a small tremor. He repaired it on site. Apparently satisfying a customer who they said they were happy to see liked to employ local businesses rather than big chains was not really what they are all about. I cannot attest to the quality of their work since they do not show up. However, if you want to do business with a company that will actually provide you with service this is not the place to go.
