The Incident: On Monday, August 10th at 5:00 AM, the doors remained locked with no employees on site. Multiple members stood outside in the dark waiting for staff that never arrived, eventually forcing everyone to abandon their workouts and leave. The Issue: This isn't just a minor delay; it's a fundamental failure of local management to enforce basic shift reliability and opening procedures. Paying members structure their daily routines around published operating hours, and complete staff no-shows show zero respect for members' time and this is not the first time it's happened. Management at the Beach Blvd location needs an immediate overhaul or intervention from the District Manager. There are 3 toilets and 3 urinal stalls and only 1 toilet is functional. There's just urine just overflowing and starting to enter the locker area. The gym has become a complete downgrade. This location recently transitioned from Gold's Gym to EOS Fitness after the sale of all Gold's Gym locations, and so far the change has been smooth. If you're an existing Gold's member, there's nothing to worry about, you can still check in as usual, and your membership pricing and access remain the same. Everything inside the gym, from the equipment to the layout, is just as it was before the switch. The only noticeable updates are the branding and merchandise, which now reflect EOS instead of Gold's. New members may see different pricing, though that hasn't been confirmed yet. Maintenance sucks. A new coat of paint doesn't change anything. Scale in men's locker room has been down for months. There is no scale on the gym floor so you can't weigh yourself at all. Apparently it's been sent to corporate but it's obvious they don't care. Seems like a simple fix. Urinals Are so low that piss splashes everywhere no matter what. If you have sandals on, your feet "will" get wet. Steam room never get sanitized. Same pubic hair stuck to the wall for weeks. Not saying gold's was much better but if you're rebranding, you would think they would try to do better. That's corporate America for you. read more

FIX THE MACHINES. 1. 1 of the squat racks has been down for over a month now 2. There are 2 hip abductor machines at this location but if one gets fixed the other one will break down and it won't get fixed for weeks... I refuse to come here for leg day because most of the machines are poorly maintained. Unfortunately, this IS the closest gym to my house and I had to get a quick gym session in. This was my leg day and came in with a positive attitude BUT as I was going to use one of the 2 hip abduction machines... TO MY LUCK ONE WAS BROKEN. Since last week, the Swimming Pool has been completely nonexistant because they're doing some work on the steam room. This is absolutely atrocious and anyone who has spent money at this "gym" should be fully compensated for this. I feel bad for the employees that have to continually hear me call them asking if it's even open. No transparency, no real updates.. nothing. I've been working out at this location for over a decade going back to the 24hr days. The switch from Gold's to EoS has not been successful. Pros: Friendly front desk staff, always say hello and goodbye for the most part. Everyone who works out there is cool and polite Bathrooms are taken care of (I'm there early morning) TV's work Fireman are usually there and are cool Cons: Equipment is need of maintenance, a lot of it Elliptical machines upstairs are mostly unbalanced. Some have parts falling off. As of this morning only three of the eight work properly because the rest are off balance. Treadmill mats are loose. Injury waiting to happen Cable machines in front of the pool are mostly non-functional. A few are missing handles and have sharp edges. They have no notices on them that they are broken so you get to look real cool going from one to the other seeing if they work. They are proud of the new paint being done, which is great, but I can't believe the lack of maintenance. It's been months now. The clock doesn't even work. I hate to say this, but given the reviews in neighboring cities, this tracks. read more

DON'T FALL FOR REFERRAL PROMOTION SCAM!!! I initially signed up because the gym I was going to was now too far after I moved. I ended up referring 3 new members because of the promotion for 3 free years if I referred 3 people in promotion window so I could have people to go with. The promo stated all new members must sign up during same promotion window and must make 3 payments for me to get credit. After 3 months I noticed I was still getting billed and asked to speak to a manager. I asked him to check but was told it was handled by outside billing party which he had no access to see. The manager ASSURED me that I had nothing to worry about and as long as they signed up I would get it but stated it may take up to 5 months for them to process everything. The manager even stated "We wouldn't be around if we didn't honor our own promotions". I tried using the app customer support feature to see if they could check but was told they only handled online app technical issues. Time passed and when I remembered and got in contact with customer support to ask why I was still getting billed I was told "Referrals are handled directly by the club location" WTH!!! I was given the number for La Mirada location by customer support but whenever I called I am told the person I need to speak to is busy 3 seconds after I ask. Not let me check if anyone available and sorry I checked but they are busy. It's always they are busy call back later as soon as I mention checking regarding referrals. The club itself is decent for price but be prepared for long wait times for equipment while people stand around talking instead of using them. The biggest issue is being deceived with false promises to get others to join then get run around to not honor the promotion agreement. So be careful with FAKE promotions they offer that sound too good to true because it is. read more

It used to be good gym but now it's EOS it's over crowded and equipment is broken down take to long for them to fix it my hate it now she would go to the gym 4 days a week when it was GOLD'S but since it changed to EOS she's only been to the gym maybe 4 times since the change because she had to wait for cardio bike 20 to 30 minutes and then when she wanted to go into the sauna it's crowded smh so we are thinking about canceling our membership with EOS read more

The trainer named Crystal at the La Mirada location did not keep the scheduled appointment even though she knew I was there waited over an hour. No apology, no feedback from anyone just ghosted me. 3 hours Later I got an email saying that I canceled our appointment. Worse customer service, not worth getting trained. Gold's Gym La Mirada went downhill long before being sold to EOS. Constantly broken machines, poor maintenance, and a lack of care for members made it an easy decision to leave. I joined Stance Fitness, only 4 miles away and the difference is night and day. clean facility, solid equipment, and staff that actually cares. It's hands down a better gym in every way. read more

I've been working out at this location from when it was 24 hour, then Golds, and now EOS. Coming from being a member of Golds Venice for 10 years before moving to this area, I'm incredibly bummed that this turned from a Golds Gym with its rich legacy and history into this run of the mill commercial EOS. Tearing down iconic banners of the likes of Arnold and putting up generic CG created crap in its place. Offering lower dues in order to cram in even more people when this place already gets overly packed every night and you have to wait in line for equipment or machines. Instead of trying to squeeze in as many as they can, I'd recommend a fair rate that allows you to adequately maintain your equipment and offer a quality experience to existing members. The only saving grace has been that they have left the existing equipment as-is, even though quite a few machines still require maintenance attention, read more

I brought my girlfriend as my guest, and from the start staff were pushy about trying to get her to sign up for additional services before even letting her in. That alone was uncomfortable, but it got worse. One staff member began making repeated comments about her body saying how nice she looked and commenting on her physique. He noticed she has a child from her lock screen and brought it up, which felt intrusive and inappropriate. He then started asking where her boyfriend was, why I wasn't with her at that moment, and made comments implying he was making her blush. He also pushed the idea of personally training her while fishing for compliments about himself asking if he looked like a trainer and drawing attention to his appearance. They even questioned whether she matched her ID, which felt unnecessary given the situation and added to the discomfort. This went beyond normal sales or friendliness. It felt like clear boundary-crossing and harassment. My girlfriend was uncomfortable, and I was as well. This is not how guests should be treated, and it should be taken seriously.
