I'm sick of going to subpar Nail Salons that charge $25 for a base pedicure where they keep asking if you want flowers on your toes even though you said no 10x over again. Ah, what a relief to try this hole in the wall joint so close to home. GREAT prices, new owners, and new pedicure spas (with neck and back massagers!). They are also extremely nice there. They don't badger you to get every single kind of treatment/manicure they offer. I got a French pedicure the first time for $20, and the second time for $18 since they were having a Grand Opening sale. The first time I went, I liked how nice they were and not so pushy so I brought in my friend the same day. They were very appreciative. They do a thorough job and give great massages! My French pedi lasts about a month, which is about average. They remembered me the second time I came in, and also gave me a nice cold bottle of water. It was Friday, and I was having a moody day. What better way to get rid of the blues than a mani/pedi with bright purple polish? I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I wasn't expecting much considering the location and the unassuming exterior. When I walked in to the high-ceilinged, bright and airy salon, I got a great feeling. They greeted me right away and fit me in for a pedicure and manicure. The girls who did my hands and feet were super nice and talked to me in a way that didn't feel awkward and forced. Best of all? I noticed during my time there that things were cleaned immediately. Tools used on my hands immediately went into the autoclave. Same for tools used on my feet. The ladies cutting hair were sweeping the floor as soon as clients were done. So all in all, good service at a good price with friendly people. Add that to a salon that doesn't reek of overwhelming chemical smell and is sparkling clean, and you get a damn good deal. read more

i went to get a PEDI, PEDI only and a lady names HELEN OR SHE GOES BY LIN... SHE cut me really bad. i didnt want to embaress her infront of everyone so I didn't say a word because there were 3 others getting pedi's...2 days later i go to the doctors cause the pain is unbareable. My doc said it was infected. INFECTED, not i'm about 11 days till my trip to hawaii and 10 days on ANTIBIOTICS... DON"T GO THERE, she said their foot spa is clean and so are their utensils, i think NOT. i'M A NURSE I KNOW BETTER.... WHEN I WENT BACK TO SHOW HER MY INFECTION SHE SAID SHE WOULD ONLY EITHER REFUND MY 30 BUCKS OR JUST 20 FOR MY DOCTORS APPOINTMENT AND MEDICATION....WTF WHO DOES THAT...I TRIED TO FIGHT BUT I GAVE UP... Overall: Great attention to detail for your nails, nice massages to go with the nail services, and all for a fantastic price. This place will be my go-to in the area :) I came in for a mani/pedi around 2PM on Friday and it wasn't crowded, so I was immediately seated and since I wanted the same color on my toenails and finger nails, one of the ladies immediately got started on my hands while my feet were being soaked, scrubbed, etc. She made sure to check that the nail shape was one I liked before filing the rest. She also gave me a great hand/forearm massage. For the pedicure, the nail technician really cleaned up my feet and toenails very attentively; I even saw that she noticed something she didn't like about a nail (I have no idea because they looked fine to me) and went back to carefully file again. The pedicure includes a great hot stone massage! The toenail shape and polish turned out perfectly. The entire mani/pedi was $32 without tip -- incredibly reasonable! read more

Had a great experience here. They prefer a quick call ahead of time but do take walk-ins. Got my eyebrows a much needed sculpt, and the pain was very minimal. Prices are very reasonable ($15 for eyebrow), and they take Visa/ Master! Will definitely come back when I'm in the area again. read more

This place is about 2 minutes from where I live and is great. The staff is super nice. Both Helen and Holly have done my manicure and pedicures. They offer a very relaxing hot stone leg massage. The only thing that would make this 5 stars would be if they'd give a hand or arm massage (after all, that's one of the best parts, right?). Really sweet ladies here, fast service. I went in on a Saturday morning to get a haircut, and was lucky enough for them to take me without an appointment (if I were to go again I'd probably make an appointment). I had been wavering about whether or not to get partial highlights on my virgin hair, but Helen reassured me and jumped right into it. I was a little scared at first, but I'm now in love with them. Unhappy with new nails It had been many years since I had acrylic nails, but being a licensed cosmetologist, I am familiar with them. I went to fabulous nails last week as it was near my home. The ladies working there were very nice and I had a pedicure followed by the application of nail tips with acrylic on one hand and just acrylic on the other hand. The lady had used nail tips that were too small and had filed my fingers. When I tried to show her where she had made a mistake, she told me that she did right and they were even. I made her look closely and she conceded that the nail tip was much smaller than my nail bed and made a funny shape and angle to my nail. She tried to add more acrylic, but it did not help. Upon closer inspection, several nails looked misshapen. I paid and tipped and went home. The nail polish job was horrible, so I removed the polish and was embarassed at how bad my new nails looked. I decided that if she could not do right when it was easy to apply the nails, she surely could not fix them, especially when she saw nothing wrong with them. I decided not to tell her anything, especially since she was defensive and could not see anything wrong. I went to another nail salon in Mountain View. I showed the lady there my nails and asked if she saw anything wrong with them. She said she did and proceeded to repair them. My fingers were raw from all the filing the previous lady had done, but Nancy was able to salvage them. The ladies at Fabulous Nails were nice and I enjoyed my pedicure, and the price was low, however I was really unhappy with my new nails and the way my concerns were dismissed. I suggest them only for manicures and pedicures. read more

At only $12 for a haircut, it's also an extremely good value (I had been paying twice as much at a barber shop in Palo Alto for the same thing). It's a happy ship - regular customers often stick their head in and just say hi to everyone. I made an appointment after work for a regular polish manicure and pedicure. I should note that I hate my feet, and I have a lot of foot hang-ups. Getting a pedicure is something I put off, even though it is supposed to be relaxing and fun. I'm embarrassed about my toes and feet, so I really rely on nail technicians to make my feet presentable in order to wear sandals. The salon is clean and the staff was very pleasant, but I'm not happy with how my nails came out or the overall experience. I brought in my own polish, classic Essie Ballet Slippers. I'm glad I did, because there really wasn't much selection for regular polishes, and not many neutrals or pinks available to pick from. Pedicure During my pedicure trim, the technician cut the cuticle in the bottom corner on my big toe. It hurt a bit, but it didn't look that bad initially. I'm a trooper, so I stayed to finish the pedicure. Unfortunately upon further inspection at home, it turned out to be deeper than I thought. I wish that when I felt the cut, I left without finishing my toes or getting a manicure. The technician didn't say anything when it happened or apologize after I pointed out that it needed to be fixed up. I won't post a picture of my toe because that would be gross, and I'm sure it doesn't happen that often, but it was a mess. I ended up removing the polish in order to repaint the nail myself the next day, since I'm attending a wedding and I need my nails to look good. The other thing is that I had asked the technician doing my pedicure specifically not to cut the corners of my big toe nails too short or round them, since I am prone to ingrown nails. She respected my request, but when a second technician took over to finish my appointment, (the first needed to do another client's hair), and she promptly cut the edges of my big toe nails. I don't think that they did a particularly good job buffing callouses, and heels, as they weren't soft or smooth following the appointment. :( Manicure Unfortunately the manicure didn't go that well either. It was partially my fault since some of my nails were really short from either breaking or biting, but only a few. The technician cut all of them really short, and attempted to file them to get a shape, but there really wasn't much she could do. The other thing is that Ballet Slippers is sheer, so I really could have used a third coat. I felt that even though I made an appointment, the salon was too busy for the staff and the end of my appointment was rushed. My appointment was at 5:45pm, and I was there until closing at 7pm, due to the technicians needing to pause for other clients, or ring up customers. The other thing is that they are cash only. I think a $32 manicure pedicure is reasonable for cash, but some of the other services are a lot to be cash-only. I duly paid my bill and tipped, but after the appointment I had regrets that I wasn't more assertive about how how my nails came out. I was hoping to find a reasonably priced manicure and pedicure (yes) in Mountain View that I enjoyed (no), so I'll continue looking. read more

My friend and I go here to get our eyebrows waxed and they do a great job!! So last time I went in I had time to kill so decided to get a pedicure and manicure. The pedi was good, but the mani, horible!! I already have short nails and I always file them to be rounded, the lady asked if I wanted them square or round, puzzled since they are already round of course I said round. The women seemed frustrated with my decision. She left the corners very sharp and pointy and the paint didnt last a week. I still go here for waxing because they do an excellent job with that, but as for my nails I will be going some place else!! read more

Pretty good... I've only gotten my eyebrows done here and they do a good and fast job.... sometimes they put lotion on my eyebrows and massage them afterwards... which is nice because my skin is soo sensitive. One star deducted for the time she over plucked in one spot, but it wasn't that noticeable. $8 + 2 tip, definitely beats places like brow bar or other $20 eyebrow places. read more

VANESSA is a great hair stylist! I've only had haircuts from her only. She did the waxing for me with a fabulous job. When I decided to take the plunge into color/highlights, Vanessa did an equally good. She was very nice, friendly, comfortable, outstanding service and excellent prices, Yay! I've been consistently happy and have recommended to my family and other friends because I was told she did a great haircut for men, boy and military too. Came here with my friend for some nail pampering. She got the pedi and i got both mani and pedi. The salon is clean and it is spacious. We were very happy with the massage chairs and the foot massage that we got with the pedicures. I also got the french nail for my hands, I wasn't that impressed when I found 6 sparkles in my nails when they were drying, ask the lady if she can fix it, she try blowing them off and had no success. I think it was the contamination of the brush and she said nothing she can do. Granted it is an inexpensive mani (French $17) I am still unhappy when I see those sparkles. read more

Visit this place regularly for my pedicures and haircuts. All the staff are very friendly and courteous. They do a pretty good job every time with my pedicure. I don't have a specific person that I go with. I have tried all of them and everyone does an equally good job. The hot stone treatment at the end of the pedicure is very relaxing and an added bonus. Have also brought in a couple of my friends here for a spa treat and all of them loved it. Good service at an affordable price. Definitely going back here more often ! read more

I went there for a touch up I have blonde hair with highlights, my natural color is light brown. I was very specific, same color blonde and a little highlights. After color and wash, she the started blow drying my hair and turned me away from the mirrow after I made a comment that its dark, but she insisted to blow dry and you will see the blonde so I allowed her. Usually, I style it when I get home, but I was concerned and allowed her to blow dry. When she finally turned me around, I was IN SHOCKED, it's completely black!!! No blonde at all!!! I was very upset paid her and left... This is the second time within 1 year she has ruined my hair. No wonder only seniors seem to be the customers , and she still charged me for styling my hair $45 ... Don't ever go there!!!! read more

I've given these folks a lot of chances since they are close to my house. When I first tried them I got cut more than once during a pedicure. I went away for a couple years but then tried them again when my new place went out of business. Pedicures have improved, but yesterday the waxer tore a piece of skin off my chin. Went in with good expectations after I read the reviews on Yelp. The lady at the check-in hesitated a bit as I was a walk-in. I would have been fine if she'd said they were busy and couldn't fit me in. I only had an hour and a half, so I was prepared to just go for a walk or find another salon that could fit in a walk-in. She said it would be a few minutes and sure enough, seated me with the hot water on. After almost 10 minutes, she pointed to another lady and said she'd be with me soon. Turns out, she was just beginning another manicure! So half an hour later (and with 22 minutes by which I had to leave), I had to try and get the attention of one of the employees to say I'd like to leave. About 5 minutes AFTER I'd been trying to make eye contact, I finally managed to, excused myself and walked out! Pity I couldn't use my 90 free minutes more productively! I wanted to treat myself to something during my lunch and usually I would treat myself to a massage at Splendid Feet (review to come), but decided that I was long overdue on a pedi (we are talking almost Flinstone feet status! YUCK!) LoL... Came to trusty Yelp to find one for me. I have to say my first impression of Fabulous Hair and Nails is... Fabulous! =) Greeted pleasantly right when I walked in which seems easy enough but you will be surprised how many times you walk into a nail shop and either have to wait a couple minutes for someone to acknowledge you or you have to get their attention. There was no wait so I was able to pick my color, sit in the comfy pedi chair, (that I have to note actually had a massager that you could feel) and then I just relaxed. I didn't feel like she (Her nameis Ha) was rushing through my pedicure and then began the best part... the massage of course! It was a nice amount of time and the other girl (Her name is Li I think) began my manicure. I love getting my mani in the pedi chair... longer chair massage too! Woot woot! I thought my pedi massage was over when she went and got hot stones... What!?!? I get a hot stone with my $22 pedicure? SWEET! My nails look nice too! The regular price for mani is $12 but you save $2 when you get a mani and pedi. I will be back to see the ladies again. BTW... It's not a fancy spa like setting... your typical nail salon but everything looked clean. =) read more
