My honest review as someone who's never had acrylics done at a salon- the lady was nice ~ The nails are cute if you don't look closely lol. If I nitpick, it's obv not perfect bc the edges weren't painted all the way and the heart isn't centered on my ring fingernail. I actually wanted an outline of a heart and not it being filled in but I'll accept this haha. I also thought she'd clean my cuticles be I thought that's supposed to happen but I guess not,, I was lowkey hoping for that but it's fine I think? She had me pay $85 and I assume that's with 20% tip? I didn't get to see how it was calculated. Was it worth for the price? I got the TAP hybrid gel nails done here because my nails are very weak and brittle and will eventually break or bend with gel polish. I don't know anywhere else that does hybrid gel so I'm really glad I found it here! It makes my nails feel really strong and I like the translucent look. Made an appointment a couple days before and they were very nice on the phone and the appointment was easy to schedule! When i got there they were running a little bit behind so I had to wait a little but, but they were really nice about it and I was not upset. I got a full set of acrylics with gel nail polish and they came out really well! The woman was very nice to me while she was doing my nails, and asked what i wanted while she was doing it. I was charged a $20 gel color removal fee. I know that places charge to remove gel polish but $20 is really excessive. Two weeks prior I got my nails done, color removal plus a new gel color. $35. I went in needing a basic pedicure. While the service/job was routine, I felt the nail technician did a fantastic job! She cleaned and cut my toenails well, really gave my leg a nice massage, and even appreciated how she used a base coat before and a top coat after applying color (I've been to some that just apply the polish and a top coat). $30 for a pedicure is reasonable; also, the fact that it's close to my house is even more reason I'd return for another pedicure. read more

An absolute disaster of a salon. I went again because I was desperate And there was parking and it was the worst $70 I ever spent. 1. The place is dirty 2. It's totally overpriced and they charged me more than they originally quoted. 3. This is the real kicker- my shellac peeled in one day! My is the lady who does the acrylics, at least​ that I know of, especially by yelpers and my friend who put me on to this place. In all honesty, I come here for convenience but the quality of My's work makes it a great one. I pay $30 +tip for a Full Set Acrylic with regular polish. I believe it is $45 for Gel Full Set Acrylic. This place has a great range of regular nail polishes. I've noticed that lately,​ Gel has been the go-to so nail salons lead more towards gel, and have a weak selection of regular nail polishes. However, this location has a vast amount of everything whether it is nail polish's, Gel, mood changing polish, temperature color changing polish, you name it. The reason why I give this place a 4 rather than a 5 is, the finishing result of the quality of the nails after a week....it depends. The first time I came here, one of my acrylics had broke after a week. However, the second time I​ got my acrylics done, they were still good after 2 weeks. The price DID NOT match the value. Upon arriving at the salon with a gel manicure from a different store, I had called beforehand to inquire about the pricing. They informed me that a gel manicure with gel nail removal would cost $40, which seemed like a good deal. However, once I started the service, the technician filed my nail and claimed it was hard gel instead of regular gel. I insisted that it was just a regular gel nail, as that's what I had paid for during my previous visit at a different store. Despite my protests, the technician continued removing my nails until the very last finger, only to then consult with someone else and inform me that they would now charge an additional $20 for the nail removal because it was considered hard gel. It was frustrating that they waited until the last minute to raise the price without prior notice. Moreover, they had limited color options and did not take care when removing cuticles, something I could easily do at home. Most concerning of all, the gel nail they applied was excessively thin, making me feel like it could break at any moment. They also didn't give me hand massage with lotion at the end. This brings me no pleasure but I have to leave a bad review here. I really like the work that Mai does but her asssistant has no business working on fingers, at least. She seems fine with pedis. I'm new to acrylics and went to Mai to have my first set of "tips and dips" from another salon removed. The assistant came at me with what looked like an acrylic tip. She used this sharp little piece of plastic to rip the old nail off and took much of my pinkie nail with it. Same with the next finger: shredded my natural nail. When I asked if that was really the way it was supposed to be done (newbie here- I have no idea) she dismissed me. On the third nail she gouged through my nail and drew blood. When I yelped pretty loudly, Mai took over. No apology or explanation but she advised me to get another set of acrylics so that my nails could grow out "more healthy". I'm still feeling like, "what do i know?" so I did. I left the salon with my middle finger throbbing but I liked the nail job. The next few days my finger was still really hurting and then it started to look red around my nail bed. The day I decided to go back and get the nail removed so I can see if there's infection, the acrylic nail falls off along with half of my natural nail. Then I got covid. By the time I was able to return to have Mai look at it and see if I can get a new nail put on it's been over 2 weeks. She offered to replace the one nail and reprimanded me for not coming in sooner. "If it happens again you have to come in right away!" When I asked if she expected it to happen again, she says, "no. It's just bad luck". No apology. The new nail placement was very awkwardly silent and it felt to me that she did not care if I came back or not. As recommended by Eva W., I came to give Nails by Linda a try at their UV gel nails. I was impressed by the amount of time and attention my manicurist paid to my 10 little fingers. From the filing to the painting... everything was perfect and it was obvious that it was her intention to make sure I walk out with perfectly manicured nails! Their prices are competitive-- the UV gel was only $25. The place is your typical nail salon, spa chairs and manicure stations. They don't use towels to catch all the nasties (cuticles, nails... etc) instead, they have this little vacuum at each mani station. The quality of my manicure is probably one of the best one's I've ever received. I can't stop looking down at my nails to admire the impeccable paint job! I have a feeling it's a place you go if you're a neighborhood regular but not otherwise. It's super tiny and though the lady is nice enough... the facilities are not up-to-date or comfortable. Also (the worst), she booked us for 3 pedicures when she was the only one working and then rushed through them because another of her local appts showed up. They literally only took like 20 min each... At the end, my toes looked like something I could have done myself and my feet were not softer, actually more rough the next day. Such a disappointment. Especially because that day was my birthday... that's why we were going for pedicures. I wish someone on Yelp would have warned us that the place was so tiny. There was only 1 pedicure set-up... and it was the foot bucket and chair type. It's bad business to take too many appts at one time and then give poor quality service. Won't see ya there. read more
