WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! If I were a customer looking for a jeweler, I would never go to a store that has so much drama. Just sayin' Joe & Chris have both displayed terrible customer services skills. Joe has written me at least 8 times in less than 12 hours and bribed me to take down my previous negative review by offering me free services at his store. I should really just copy and paste all his messages.. His behavior is questionable, but I'm not here to embarrass anyone, so I'll move on.. I had to block his account, both personal and the store's account, and once I did that he got onto his friends accounts (multiple) to also harass and name call using explicit language and threatened a lawsuit. Dramatic much? My advice: please consult your legal team. You will see who's harassing who. But I digress: Let me get back to my original review: The last time my husband and I were here, we were dismissed and ignored and the person working couldn't care less that we needed to be helped. We came to this store many times before, spent a lot of money and even referred many people.. I have receipts to prove that I've been here. I wonder if the other Yelpers that have posted 5 star reviews in a very close proximity of one another, as well as the numerous "Hidden" posts can prove that they purchased anything here before.... Yelp has a good system to hide posts when there are too many reviews from people in a short time frame that have new accounts, or not enough reviews. This is a good filtration system for FRAUDULENT reviews. Something to think about people.... Why bother dealing with someone that has displayed so much bitterness, resentment and just plain negative energy when I could take my hard earned $ to the MANY THOUSANDS OF OTHER booths on this block? He Introduced me to his whole family and they were all very nice and respectful which just kept making this decision so much easier, but now let's talk about the diamonds!!! Woahhhh! You really do need to walk In there with some glasses cause the clarity of diamonds they have is phenomenal! He should me couple of different items and within couple minutes I made a decision. This is a way overdue review for my experience in buying my wife's and my wedding bands. My wife immediately found an eternity band that she fell in love with, I on the other hand was like most guys, okay with any ring...that was until I saw a unique piece of jewelry unlike any other before. I asked Joe to show me the ring that caught my eye as I was browsing the store. The ring was unique since the exterior was platinum and the interior was yellow gold. I thought it looked like a unique piece of jewelry and gave it back to Joe. Soon after my wife said she'd get that as my band but declined since it was pretty pricey. I have purchased multiple items from Joe, which speaks to my strong liking of the service, quality of jewelry, and value of precious metals/stones. I first met Joe when stumbling into Facets in Downtown when looking for a pair of diamond earring studs for my then girlfriend. I shopped at another three stores thereafter, and NO ONE beat the price or quality of what Joe was offering. When it came time for "the big purchase," Joe met with ey half a dozen times to pick out the perfect stone and setting for an engagement ring. He shipped in over 10 stones within the specifications I was searching, and I literally ended up buying the perfect stone for me. Anytime I go by and see Joe, he also cleans the rings and offers impeccable service. Recently, I purchased my own custom wedding band, but was unfortunately out of town when the ring was ready. PLEASE BE WARNED! Do your research. Don't leave reviews based solely on your purchase experience with Facets Gems. Anyone can be catering when selling you something. It's when things go wrong you see what a business is about and this business is not trustworthy. August 2015. We found a loose diamond to create a custom engagement ring and put a $4000 deposit. We were told that our deposit was 100% REFUNDABLE. Joe's father even wrote that on our deposit receipt. September 2015 my husband and I decided not to move forward with the diamond and contacted Joe for a refund. Joe then said he WOULD NOT REFUND us. He said he would be willing to apply it towards a different purchase. That should have been our FIRST CLUE. We did end up paying another $4000 and bought a pair of diamond earrings. March 2016. My husband purchased a Rolex watch through him and spent nearly $30,000 cash. FACETS GEMS IS NOT AN AUTHORIZED ROLEX DEALER but has friends who are and could get us a better price. Joe told him watch is genuine, brand new, with manufacturer warranty. April 2016. went back and finally purchased an engagement ring. We first chose a loose diamond and then selected a setting to go with it. I was torn between two different settings they had in their case . Joe, his mother, and his father all told me to just pick any one of them and that if, once my diamond was set in the ring, I did not like it (since you don't really know what it will look like until after the diamond is mounted into the ring) I could switch and get the other setting without any cost to me. So I went ahead and picked one of the settings. On the day it was finished, Joe text me a picture of the finished ring. I did not like it at all. Joe could tell I didn't like it and kept insisting that "it looks much better in person". When I picked up the ring, it only looked a little better in person but I still wasn't sold. Joe and his mom insisted that I try it for a while and if I still don't like it I could return it for the other setting. Fast forward a couple months and I still didn't love my ring. In fact, I didn't like it at all. Joe and I went back and forth for several months regarding his issue because he kept trying to tippy toe around his previous promise. In the end, Joe again DID NOT HONOR HIS PROMISE to allow me to switch settings. Actually he did, but now says it would cost me another $900 for labor to switch it to the second setting I looked at initially. At that point I just said screw it, I won't be dealing with Joe or anyone from Facets Gems EVER AGAIN!! I still have the ring I'm unhappy with. And throughout the 18 months now that I've had the ring I've had to have the diamond reset into the ring because all the prongs were loose. I literally could hold the diamond with my thumb and index finger and generously wiggle the diamond around. That was a $200 repair but I refused to take it to Joe because I've already had such a bad experience with him. The jeweler that did my repair said the setting is not meant for my loose diamond. He said that when creating a custom piece of jewelry, as I was doing with Joe, I should be working with a jeweler not a diamond dealer. There is a difference. Like you wouldn't go to a car salesman when you want to build a custom car. You'd go to someone who builds cars. July 2017. THIS IS THE WORST OF IT. My husband's ROLEX literally BROKE and fell off his wrist while we were sitting at a restaurant!!Mind you, he only wears his watch on the weekends and it was only a year and a half old. The entire bracelet broke off of the case of the watch! I wish I had pictures of the watch before the repair but I didn't think to take a picture of it. We took it to Ben Bridge to have it repaired since it's the nearest authorized ROLEX dealer to us and guess what?? Turns out it's a "GREY MARKET" ROLEX and has NO WARRANTY whatsoever. In addition to that, they have never seen a Rolex break like that EVER. When my husband called Joe to tell him this, Joe insisted that the watch has warranty and even questioned "who is telling you that the watch is Grey Market?" Well a widely known authorized Rolex dealer told us. They looked up the serial number and traced it. He then told us he didn't realize it was a grey market watch so... sorry. We ended up paying another $800 in repairs to have Rolex fix it for a $30,000 watch that has NO VALID WARRANTY. Needless to say, we will never do business here again. read more
