A couple of weeks ago my refrigerator wasn't cooling as expected. I chose Factor Appliance just because of the good reviews from Yelp, and I don't regret the decision. Adrian was easy to reach by the phone, service was scheduled for the very next day, which was really great, because I didn't need to throw food to the garbage bin. In other words, no extra money spent on the same problem. When I contacted him and told the "symptoms", he immediately gave me some advice until the appointment, like to not open the fridge unnecessarily, which is common sense, but I do appreciate his true interest in his clients. That's a big plus! That's a good sign of the kind of person you are dealing with. You don't get that simple advice from every service guy, although it takes just a couple of minutes. During the appointment he was respectfully friendly, even said something nice about my cat (who doesn't want to hear something nice about his/her own pet?). Adrian explained thoroughly about the problem, the solution, the price, and recommendations for avoiding the same issue in the future. Really, he seems to be an honest person. He was carrying the part needed in his vehicle, so there was no need of a new appointment, and the refrigerator was fixed 1,5 hour later. About the price, I'm not able to compare, since this is the first time I had this kind of problem with my fridge, but I'm sure I saved money in food that I could keep. read more

I had been using the same appliance repairman for close to 20 years. We were so sad when he retired and not sure how we would ever replace the workmanship and the quality and the customer service of this individual. So we researched and asked around and researched some more. I called Adrian at Factor Appliance to try and see how he would measure up when our dryer of 14 years was not working. To our surprise, not only did he match the quality of our previous repairman, he EXCEEDED it!!! The response time was incredible, the repair was completed successfully and we were so pleased that we had found a replacement. Unfortunately for us, 2 months after our initial repair, our dryer broke again. I called Adrian and he promptly came out again. He worked for close to 90 minutes and realized that it was the dryer's computer that was the cause of this malfunction. Not only that, he suspected that the computer was most likely the cause for the previous repair 2 months before and he DIDN'T CHARGE US a penny! He has a 90 day guarantee on the repairs he does and he said that this would qualify for that guarantee. I was so completely impressed by this that I was moved to write this review. Made an appointment for my Samsung Refrigerator. (NEVER BUY SAMSUNG OR LG REFRIGERATORS). This was on a Friday... The only Samsung guy couldn't make until Tuesday. Jose' aka "BUTT CRACK JOE" with his butt out and paints on the ground showed up on time. Walked to the fridge. Pulling up his paints while opening the fridge and freeze and closing the doors to both declared... "This a sealed unit problem and then promptly handed me a bill for $80.00. Until I prompted him, he showed no interest in thinking about making any attempt to talk about what it would cost to fix. He did mention about maybe it is under warranty? I asked him since he is the Samsung guru and the only one at FACTOR that works on them, how many Samsung calls does he see in a day? He replied TWO...at $160.00 a day and $800.00 a week for what was and I am not exaggerating a TWO minute diagnosis (It took longer to fill-out the invoice and take my money) I would think he could buy some paints that fit. BETTER YET... Being a small business owner myself... I would get all my technicians uniforms. I am not sure for what corporate image... "The Paints of the Ground FACTOR Appliance company" is going... but "BUTT CRACK JOE" will never be returning... last time I saw a crack like that was at the San Andreas Fault. read more

I didn't think that repair companies like this one still existed! My husband called on a Friday to make a repair appointment for our dryer and was told that the earliest they could give us would be a week from the coming Monday. We had hoped for an earlier appointment but thought we would hang in there, since their reviews were so good. Around 7:30pm that night my husband got a call from the owner, Adrian. He said he had been looking over the repair calls and explained that the technician who worked on our brand was on vacation that week, which was why we were given such a long wait. Adrian said a week was too long to be without a dryer. He would be in the area on Monday and could squeeze us in, if someone would be around. Adrian came when he said he would and instead of a $200-$300 repair that we had prepared ourselves for we were only charged the $80 trip fee. The horrible rattle that we heard was simply lint built up around the blower. He recommended that we get the duct work cleaned out every few years (it had been over 5) and that might help prevent the problem from returning. Professional and courteous service with reasonable rates are unheard of these days, but now I have found one company. read more

I called Adrian in an emergency as we had just brought home a newborn from the hospital and the dryer stopped working in our washer/dryer combo unit! I tried to fix it myself being a handyman and even watched video's on youtube to fix the problem; which I almost did; but needed the help from a professional. And Adrian came to the rescue. He was right on time with the appointment, diagnosed the problem right away and went over options with me before he started any work. We both decided that a certain option was the way to go, and he had the dryer working better than before in no time (doesn't squeal anymore either). He was extremely reasonable as far as pricing and was very considerate to the fact that we just had a newborn and didn't do what other companies would probably have done and charged us an "emergency" service cost. I told him I hope I don't see him again, only because that means no other appliance goes down, but if it does that he is my first call and no more do it yourself routines. I have relied on Adrian and Factor Appliance for years now and Adrian has become a go-to expert for any of our appliances he services, and even refers us out for those he does not. He has always given excellent advice on when to repair and when not. Reading some of the negative reviews on Yelp, it seems like some of those customers have little to no appreciation of the fact that they are asking for an old appliance to be repaired, while expecting that the reliability will be as if they were purchasing a new appliance. There is some risk-sharing with old appliances. I have always been prepared to pay for Adrian-Factor's expert advice even if that cannot bring an old appliance back-to-life. Also, if you read their website and policies you will see that they don't do the bodily lifting of stacked appliances. The responsibilities for good communications goes both ways. I highly recommend Adrian and Factor and having them as my go-to appliance repair guys gives my wife and I great assurance for our household upkeep. [I am in Rockville, not San Francisco] read more

Factor Appliance is fabulous! I called on Monday, my double oven's display was not working. I got an appointment for Tuesday at 2. There was a 90 minute window on the appt. and I was promised a call ahead. Tyrone, called at 10 to see if I would like him to come out earlier and arrived within 30 minutes. He was personable and professional. He diagnosed my problem and gave me an estimate right there on the spot. Then, right there, from my house, he called to see if the part was in. I was worried about the price to fix it and hesitated. There was no pressure. I called him back about 30 minutes later to say I would go ahead with the repair. He was on his way to the parts office and said he would pick up the part and come back to complete the repair. And he did. An hour later all is done. This is my first yelp review. Factor appliance was excellent! They sent technician, Godfrey, the very next business day. He diagnosed the issue with my fridge but was concerned that the part was no longer being produced and was unsure if he could do the repair. Hours later, he had already found the discontinued part at a repair store and promptly returned to complete the job on the same day. One of the original issues with the refrigerator was that the lights weren't working.That broken light was part of a combination of issues that were supposedly fixed with the replacement of the single part. A few days later, when I finally got to purchasing a new light bulb, I discovered the light bulb still was not working. Godfrey was there within a few hours, took apart the fixture, and made the necessary adjustment with no charge! Great service. Thanks Factor! read more

"Our GE refrigerator would no longer hold the temperature it was set at in the refrigerated section. Based on the reviews, I thought I'd give Factor Appliance a try. I am so very glad that I did. Godfried came out on time (called first to let me know that he was on the way). Aside from being very nice and extremely professional, he really knows what he is doing. Within minutes, he had diagnosed the problem which was a broken diffuser door and had the part on the truck to replace it. He replaced the part and had everything back together within 30 minutes. It is now working perfectly. And their price was fair and reasonable given the large GE part that needed to be replaced. Fast: I called at 7am Monday morning and left a msg. Got a call back at 8am. Adrian arrived to do the work (on time) at 3pm Monday. Work was complete by 3:30p. Effective: Washing machine fixed. Fair: The cost was reasonable and the problem was clearly identified (I was shown the sock that was stuck in my washing machine pump). Honest: After being recently scammed by a duct cleaning company, I was scared to call upon anyone to come into my home to fix something. I told Adrian that and he was clear that there are some bad apples in the service industry who ruin it for companies, like his, that are honest and do a good job. I found Factor recommendations on our NextDoor.com community. They showed great reviews so I called them. Very professional. We scheduled an appointment to repair my VERY noisy Maytag Dryer. Tyrone, the service person, called the day before the scheduled service to clarify the issue. When I explained my diagnosis of the problem (fueled by internet wisdom) he immediately knew what the actual issue was. (I was way wrong.) He located the part we needed and told me up front what the repair would cost. He also said that he could do the repair today rather than tomorrow. Factor Appliance is the absolute best for appliance repairs! Adrian is extremely honest, knowledgeable, trustworthy and charges a fair price to repair. After I explained the problem I was having, Adrian gave me a good idea of what the problem was likely to be and an estimate of what the repair would cost. This way you have time to decide if it's best to go ahead with a repair or replace the appliance before you incur a service charge. His charge to come take a look at your appliance is far more reasonable than his competitors. He is very pleasant to work with and does great work. Factor Appliance is awesome! My dishwasher was making a grinding noise that continued to get worse by the day. I called Factor Appliance at 9 am this morning asking for an appointment and they indicated that someone (Tyrone) could be here between 9:30 and 11:00 am (same day). And he was. I explained the grinding noise when I turned the dishwasher on. He was very knowledgeable in determining the problem and explained what he needed to do and the approximate cost. I was so happy that my dishwasher was back in order in such a quick time. Super job Super customer service. We chose Factor Appliance because of the credentials listed on it's web site. Our Frigidaire Gas Range was listed as one of the many brands Factor services. Our technician Tyrone expertly diagnosed the problem, gave an estimate and ordered the necessary part. When he returned with the part he expertly took the stove top apart and replaced the broken part. He was meticulous in putting everything back properly and making sure all burners were working properly. Tyrone knows his work, was polite and professional. Adrianne came out to repair a part on our refrigerator and suggested that the part might still be under warranty! I was positive he was wrong because our sub zero is almost 12 years old. I called Adrian about my dishwasher. Based on what I told him he thought he might be able to repair it for a reasonable charge. After looking at it he felt the repair would be too costly and that I'd be better off getting a new dishwasher. He then showed me reasonable, reliable options online and gave me other money-saving advice and tips. I did have to pay his service fee but his honesty at telling me my dishwasher wasn't worth fixing and his assistance in helping me get a new one were worth the fee. If I have other appliances that need repair I will call Adrian. read more

They have serviced my dryer several times and did a great job. I placed a service call today and the technician called me later to say (looking at my repair history), that maybe I should think about a new dryer; he estimated how much I would possibly spend on a service call vs. a new dryer. I am absolutely thrilled with Factor Appliance. From my initial phone call, they were nothing but professional, kind, and informative. Tyrone diagnosed the issue with my oven almost immediately upon arrival and was extremely patient while I called my landlord on the West Coast for approval of the repair cost. We were a bit concerned about the water since we live in a top floor condo, so he made it a priority.
