This dealership has caused my family and I, nothing but problems and heartaches. There service department is one of the most unprofessional in the business. Beware of taking your vehicle into them as they are most likely to ruin your vehicle. Once, they ruin my vehicle and admitted fault they did nothing to fix it. They left my family without a vehicle for over a month, with the car seats still in it. It was like pulling teeth to have them provide us with a courtesy car. They refused to bring us one as we could not drive down there to get one (they have our car). After sometime, and one manager after another one, they brought us a car but by that time it was too late. One of the many visits to their service department (there head mechanic) took our vehicle home and drove it around with other people in the vehicle. When the vehicle was returned, there was another personal property left in our vehicle. So bad, we gave them the vehicle with half a tank and it was returned with 19 miles to empty. They refused to pay for the gas and at least get us back to half a tank. There mechanic work was so bad that the vehicle leaked oil all over my driveway and garage (this was after they returned it to us) they sent there manager over to our house to use a cleaner to scrub the oil stains, but of course there still there. Trying to work with other departments within the dealership was just as bad. I have never felt so undermined and taking advantage of. We contacted the head people of this dealership and in a nut shell told (too bad, we are not going to help you.) For the past six month has been nothing but a disaster. They even text us saying come on in and let see what we can do to get you out of your vehicle. I went down the dealership and nobody knew a thing about me being there and once again all they wanted to do was sell me another vehicle. They were told, my business would never be done there again. Buyers/Service customers beware, of this shitty ass dealership. I enjoy a good Ford vehicle but will never deal with Selma Fahrney Ford again. For having such a good name for so long, this is a great way to ruin it. Great job Fahrney!!!!!!! I will forever discourage people to do business with them and warn them. I purchased a 2009 for Edge (Ford Pre owned Certified) about 3 years ago. I took it in last week because we were having transmission problems and a leak. The salesman who sold me the car stated that my certified pre owned warranty was 7 years from the date I purchased or 100,000 miles. Well now they are telling me it's going to cost close to $800 and nothing is covered. After calling ford I realized the salesman lied to me and unfortunately that is why I paid the price i did for this vehicle. I would not do business with this company. One of the worst place every to shop for a used car or any car to say. Poor customer service and care. I had just bought my Nissan from them and not even a month into the vehicle and the transmission gave out. They had me tow my vehicle to the nearest Nissan dealer to get it worked on but the warranty they sold me didn't transfer over. Then they waited a day later to tow my vehicle back to their shop. I had to fight to get a rental because they don't provide loaner vehicles or rentals. I had to miss work and find ways to get to work because that was not their problem even though they sold me a vehicle that broke down within a month. They replaced the transmission but then expected me to pay $477 for a flywheel because they had upgraded the transmission and therefore needed to upgrade the flywheel too in order for it to fit. Mind you all this work was done without my approval or knowledge nor was the warranty people aware of this and know they expect me to pay for their mistakes. Service department threatened me with pinning additional charges to a rental if I didn't pick up my vehicle and return the rental by end of day when they called me at 5:20 pm. Now that I got my vehicle back it's leaking oil or transmission fluid. I hope this helps anyone or gives an insight on what to expect when purchasing a vehicle from this place. I did not purchase a vehicle from them. However I attempted to and got the run around. They listed a truck online and I contacted them, had pictures of the truck sent to me, and expressed genuine interest in the vehicle. First it was "We have to run it though the shop". Okay, then it was "Well we need to get it smogged". Still, I understand. Then it turns into two days waiting for smog and then I'm told "We got it smogged but they ordered some stuff for it and it won't be ready until next week". They would not even let me make an offer even after it had passed smog and was legally able to be sold. Sounds like a bait and switch tactic. Lure you in with an attractive price but give you the run around until you either pay the exorbitantly higher price when you show up, or you get swindled into getting a newer vehicle with a payment you can't afford. Sad when I was practically begging to write them a check for a vehicle that I'm pretty convinced probably doesn't even exist. From this experience, do yourself a favor and beware of these people. Also to the people who work there and might read this, here's some advice. DON'T LIST IT IF YOU CAN'T SELL IT! read more

This place is a sorry excuse for a for service center. If I could give them 0 stars I would but I can't. I dropped off my car Saturday morning at 8 am as soon as they opened. All I needed was a barring changed. They said it wouldn't be ready till Monday morning so I rented myself a car. Monday morning I call because I have not heard from them and they tell me it's more then just the barring and it's going to cost $400, I find out they are full of shit, all the need to replace is the barring not the entire drum kit. This goes on for the next 4 days. Everyday they all and give me a different excuse as to why my car is not ready. My dad is a mechanic and told me it doesn't take more then 2 hours to fix it. It is now Thursday and they won't have it till Friday. I also found out that my warranty should have covered my rental. They will only cover it from Monday- Friday not the Friday- Monday morning I already had it from when I dropped it off. This is not the first time we have had problems with them. I had previously brought my car in for an oil change, they tell me try wrote the wrong miles down and it's not do yet. Keep in mind I have an appointment. They then tell me that to be nice they'll do it anyway...if I come back 3 hours after my scheduled appointment and wait as a walk in. If you love your car do not come here, save yourself the trouble and go to fresno or visalia. read more

I went to trade in a car and was able to get a deal done and the sales perosn and finance manager were aware of my mileage situation on my old car and said it's not an issue since I'm trading it for a newer car. So, I drove off in my new car and a few days later I received a letter from this bull shit dealership that I'm being charged for the extra miles I had on the trade in! What kind of crap is this? I wouldn't hve traded if I was going to be charged for the miles but YOUR sales person and finance manager said not to worry about it! I selected 1 star because zero was not an option. We scheduled an appointment with to see a certain vehicle you would think it would have been detailed well it wasn't. Chris stated that they were going to shred the price of the vehicle but was never able to disclose a price. Chris stated we would need to go to the finance department to discuss prices. We proceeded to the finance office to deal with rude (Ed) and rudder (John M.) They would not disclose the price but asked me how much would you like to pay I stated my price and John M. I was amazed by the bad reviews this dealership has received. After searching and waiting for a Shelby over a year, I was surprised this dealership was selling one below the sticker price. Any Mustang enthusiasts would know the thought of purchasing such vehicle at sticker price is slim, let a lone getting one below the MSRP. I spoke to Alfonso Zamora (Internet Sales Manager), and a day later we made the deal. Alfonso made the transaction painless as he knew I was driving up from LA. The sale process was smooth and Alfonso ensured my requests were met with the terms I wanted. I've purchased several vehicles over the years; however, I have never had such a positive experience coming from dealing with car sales reps. DECEITFUL. They now offer a program where they give you the Kelly blue book value and purchase your vehicle from you. After receiving our quote over the phone we decided to drive 30 miles to the dealership. Our car was just as we stated and it checked out. The problem is they decided to change the amount by $2500 for a nationwide recall on airbags. They said our car would not be able to be sold till this was fixed. What the dumb dumbs didn't know is my husband had already researched this. All car airbags are part of this. They shouldn't sell any cars in that case. They knew this but we're still dishonest and wasted our time. They wonder why they have a bad reputation. Stick to CARMAX!! read more

My husband and I had a horrible experience at this car dealership. First of all, the customer service was nonexistent. We had a 5pm appointment with Ivan Bonilla, we arrive at the dealership (which was a 30 min drive in traffic) and Ivan had left for the day without telling us (WTF). So now we are working with someone new (Louis), who was trying his best to help us out, only now they cant seem to find the one specific car that we found on their website and are now here to test drive. It was like they never had the car to begin with.... We explain to Louis that Ivan had informed us that he would hold the car for us to come view it today. Louis is now looking all over the dealership to find the car, which never turns up. So now we're just sitting in the front of the dealership trying to figure out what type of business these guys are running(WTF). If the car was sold, they could have communicated that to us but again, its like they never had the car. I would not recommend doing business with these guys. read more

took my 18 year old daughter to buy her car. They were great while she was purchasing it. Drove home over 2 hours away to find out that the second key fob (only way to start the car) was defective. They wanted her to drive back and have them replace it. I told them no way. So finally after several calls & emails they said she could get it replaced and programmed at our local dealership. She did & paid to have it done for $235.05 for a new key fob & programming. now after several months of emails & phone calls they still have not reimbursed her. They are great while you are purchasing a vehicle, NOT AFTERWARDS. Horrible customer service. My 18 year old daughter now is out $235 for something that was supposed to be provided to her at the time she purchased her vehicle. read more

I'm not one for a bunch of negativity, but it's all piling up and I have to vent, so I apologize in advance to whoever reads this but at least it will help prepare you before doing business there. I purchased two cars from the dealership pretty recently, one of which has been trouble since I bought it. Every other month I'm taking it back in to you guys for an issue. I guess I should have gotten the hint when I had it for only 2 weeks and then had to take it in (and it stayed there for almost a month). Then later, I found that the windshield wiper fluid tubes were broken (when I needed to use them) and the car battery had tons of corrosion on it, which I found when I went to help jump someones car. The corrosion was so bad that I know it had to have already been there when I purchased the vehicle. I can see how the windshield wiper fluid cables could be missed on a check, being that it's a used vehicle, fine, but the battery?? I would think that's a major part of the car to check/inspect. So now I'm being charged to take care of all of this out of my pocket. I asked if it could be taken care of by ford and I was told that these issues were things that I should have reported immediately after purchasing the vehicle (but then again they had it for a month working on it right after I bought it). Not sure how that could happen, unless I did some type of 100 point check on my own, but I would think that a dealership whose customers matter, would handle that and make sure that they provide the customers with something of quality. So I take the car in for the corrosion issue, and after being charged for the services I found that there was still a bunch of corrosion on the battery when I got the car home and all that was done was some tape was wrapped around the cables. What is that?? I was told that the corrosion had eaten through the cables, which would now eventually need to be replaced. But does that mean you don't clean off the existing corrosion??? Well, eventually came about a week or so later. Now, the car won't start. I've had the car for less than 6 months. I may not have been so upset if I felt more taken care of by the dealership in these matters, but the feeling I got was more of "sorry, but that's not really our problem." Well, if that's how business is done at the Swanson Fahrney Dealership and how customers are treated, I don't want to be a part of it and won't refer friends or loved ones to do business there either. So be careful and make sure you do your own inspections or have someone you trust who knows what they're doing check out any of your purchases if you do business with Swanson Fahrney. read more

It seemed to me that customer service was important. Usually when approached by salesmen you feel a sense of pressure to buy a vehicle. We did not feel this type of pressure at all. Horrible. I was told i could get vechicle for around $350 per month, and also they would give 17-19k for my trade. After driving 35 minutes and sitting down first offer was 650 payments for 94 months! and 14k for trade, how can this be. They came down to 415 for 94 months and 16k for trade, and this offer was for used vechicle. Also on test drive to get gas truck would not restart, truck was filthy dirty, it took 2 different cars to jump start They conveniently forgot my registration, which i still have not recieved. read more

When I needed to upgrade my car to fit our growing family the first place I went was Fahrney because of past experiences at the dealership. I wanted an Edge but wasn't "in love" with anything they had on the lot. During the test drive I told the sales guy, Juan, the features I wished the vehicle had and that I was going to keep looking. I left and went to the other Ford dealership in Fresno, all the while Juan was looking for the car that matched my wish-list. He found exactly what I wanted, called me back, and offered a VIP test drive. When he pulled the car up he had my favorite radio station blaring and offered an extended test drive to grab food for my family. It might sound insignificant, but those small things completely made this experience so much different than any other buying experience I've gone through. Juan Mendoza went above and WAY beyond to make sure I got exactly what I was looking for. A few months after I bought my car he called to make sure I was still loving my ride and to remind me about my free oil change at the dealership. The dealership is smaller than some of the giant lots in Fresno so whenever I take my car in for service I see Juan and he always makes a point to say hi and ask about my family. I feel like Juan, and the rest of the team care about their customers and not just making a sale. HIGHLY recommend Fahrney Ford and working with JUAN MENDOZA. read more

I went to Swanson after seeing a specific car online, I called first to make sure it was there and they said it was and would pull it up for me to cool it down. When I got there I saw the car and walked up, soon to realize that they brought up the downgraded version. Simple mistake, it was identical besides the inside and they brought up the right one. I got into the correct car and saw a sticker hanging that said it was on sale for a grand less than the price online. I took the car for a test drive and everything was great. We went inside and they quoted me the online price and I pointed out that the giant orange sticker price inside said it was on sale for a grand less. They said it was for the car they accidentally pulled up and couldn't honor that price. They wouldn't even budge on the price, they said it was set and there was nothing to do. After doing the calculations we decided to look around just to see other cars. We returned the next day with intention to buy the car, being that we have bought two cars recently from them including the one I was trading in. When we returned the sales person was nice enough to come in on his day off (Albert was awesome throughout the whole process). A manager was brought in and we were attempting to negotiate. Eventually as I was talking to my mom he came in the room and pointed to a guy and said "that guy takes our cars to auction, and if you don't take that car today it won't be here tomorrow." I was already approved for a loan and I wanted the car and he knew that so he attempted a scare tactic. It seemed odd that at that moment the auction guy was there and this was never mentioned yesterday. We walked out and went to Lithia Nissan. The next day we bought the same car at another dealership. Albert was awesome, and I wish I could have gotten the car from him. But that manger that came in, that's another story. Be weary for certain people as they will prey on your fears. Oh yeah, and they tried to sell me gap coverage even though I didn't need it. read more
