Stopped by was looking for a 2022 regular cab , I was told , those are unicorns !!! That's odd , they didn't even try to see if the could find me one elsewhere. So I told them I could probably settle for a 2018 if they had them . So they showed me a ford regular cab , which it didn't interested me the least . Next they showed me a gmc , but apparently the mechanics were working on it , the salesman took me into the office and tried to keep me there . I had to tell him 3 times , I had things to do , so therefore I should be on my way . All of a sudden they said that the mechanics were done with . So there we went to look at it ,so I could take it for a ride . Salesman went to look for keys , went to look for vehicle, couldn't find it in the lot . So I started walking out the door , one of the managers came out after me . Tells me don't you want the pick up ??? If I can give this location a -9 star rating I would. This has been the most upsetting experience at a car dealership! Let me start off with explaining the good stuff first. Pros: Amazing vehicle selection Warranty Options Amazing Finance & "On-Site Staff" Cons: OWNER OF FAHRNEY FORD OF SELMA Poor Customer Service Communication Promises Purchased a Brand New F150 on 6/9/23, perfect condition took it for paint fabrication for the finishing touch on a Saturday to Toyota per Fords instructions. Picked it up end of day, noticed paint damages immediately informed Toyota staff, was told to call Ford on Monday due to no managers there etc. Called that Monday morning at opening to inform them, had my husband bring it there while I was on the phone with the manager, video/photos were taken of damages, was told we would get a call from Valerie to schedule it. Valerie called and schedule it to BE FIXED on 07/05/23 for 3-4 days. My husband took off work for the week. Made sure I informed them immediately per Toyotas instructions to Ford that Monday of the damages! Dropped it off at Ford on 07/05/23 got a call 07/06/23 from Daniel the service manager to pick the truck up because it won't be able to get fixed until 07/24/23, Valerie did not get this scheduled correctly, I then called her and she stated she forgot and that she was confused and that she was out of the loop because she took vacation the day after she scheduled us and claimed she doesn't remember speaking to the manager I initially informed of the damages. That was an entire whole ordeal!! Anyways while we were at the dealership on 07/05/23 dropping off the F150 we purchased another F150 this time for me. At this point we are frustrated that our initial purchase the black F150 is not getting acknowledged to confirm dates, so then I CALLED EVERY SINGLE DAY trying to get a confirmed date since Valerie dropped the ball on this. Even called Valerie every few days to get a simple confirmation. Even Ford service department saw how upset and frustrated we were the day we had to pick up the truck again on 07/06/23. Saved all texts, call logs, names of everyone I spoke with throughout this entire ordeal. We purchased the Platinum Warranty package as well when we paid $20,000 CASH for a down payment for the Black F150, then 3 wks later purchased my F150, then my father wants to purchase the F250 but change of plans since their customer service is horrible! So yesterday 07/13/23 the owner of Fahrney Ford "Mike" gave me a call and says "We are not taking responsibility for this damage because you waited too long to inform us of the damage and that there's no record of my communication!" He wouldn't let me get a word in so it became a screaming match! How unprofessional is that! A grown man that owns several dealerships speaks to a woman like this! Instead of trying to fix the problem and provide excellent customer service he totally sweeps this under the rug! Even though their cameras on site and staff has seen me a lot of times since the minute it was reported to them, then so many times I've called, left messages etc. he still denies fixing the truck. Mind you it's small paint gouges but they are noticeable. Wouldn't even let me know what can be done. Not to mention even my new F150 has interior damages from the pain fabrication finishing touch guy!! I recorded the vehicle and time stamped it morning of drop off, then recorded my truck upon picking up and noticing the damages again!!! Mike Fahrney will not take responsibility for any of the damages that were caused under the handling of their staff. I told him this is very poor customer service he brushed it off and still kept saying he's not taking responsibility for the damages! Breach of contract for sure!! Going to look into getting this resolved for actual damages, with all the proof & evidence I have, and also the missed work my husband had to take due to Valerie scheduling it to be dropped off and fixed for 3-4 days. My husband has a high paying job and Valerie is responsible for this. Not only that but the verbal abuse I had to listen to from Mike Fahrney! Screaming match for sure. Do not go to any Fahrney dealerships in Selma, Ca. To purchase your vehicles, the customer service that you will receive AFTER you purchase is total BS!! Any calls, from Mike Fahrney to myself or my husband or my mother will be documented!! To treat customers that drop $20,000 CASH, then purchase another F150 fully loaded 5.0 3wks later, then inquire about another F250 that's horrible! These 5 stars are for the customer service provided by Tou. We drove from Fresno to test drive F-150s, since this was the closest dealership with inventory. Tou was our salesman, he was very easy to talk to and accommodating for us. There currently is a vehicle shortage, so there wasn't much availability, but we were able to test drive and get an idea of what we wanted to place an order for. Tou was very helpful throughout this process, I highly recommend asking for him as your salesman. read more

Where do I begin, This dealership is a JOKE! Not only did they lure us in with false promises but the people we communicated with were both were not scheduled to come in! We had been communicating with Jennifer in the Internet Sales Department. She didn't seem like she knew what she was doing so she relied on her boss' help, Harrold stepped in to speak with us on "the deal" we have a 2015 F-150 we were looking to trade in. They had all of the information as far as the vin number and pictures. We had to do it this way because we are in Bakersfield and they are in Selma. I wasn't looking to take that drive unnecessarily. So after much communication and negotiation, we were told by Harrold that they could potentially pay for what we owed on the truck we currently have as used trucks with low mileage are in high demand... We felt we had worked out the details so this past Saturday, 1/16/2021 we decided to go in and see what we could do. Right before our time to head out I received a text from Bryan Lopez confirming our appt. I have never heard from Bryan but he guaranteed everyone including their finance department was aware of "the deal" so we decided to go in. Poor kid! Bryan was thrown into the fire when he didn't know what was really going on. We pretty much started from scratch. They also didn't have a truck for us to work on. Eddie in the finance department came in with numbers which didn't match what we had been working on with Jennifer and Harrold. Well. Turns out Harrold, isn't any kind of manager at this dealership but rather an appointment setter! WTF! Bottom like is we were lied to from the start, there was never any deal! Eddie came in to the room very matter of fact with 0 options, instead he low balled the trade and didn't give any options on terms, money down, nothing. It all started with my wife and I deciding it is time for a new vehicle for her. She did her research and decided she liked the new Toyota Camry. She found numerous Camry's in the color she liked at Swanson Fahrney. She did an online application because, we are both very busy people. They got our information and we attempted to reserve one of the 4 new Camry's listed online. My wife schedule to take time off from work to complete the test drive and complete the transaction. When she arrived she was met with a bunch of excuses that the vehicles listed online were not available to purchase as they had already been sold. The salesman and manager gave her a long exhausting run around. They even tried to up sell her on a vehicle 8-10k over what she was actually in the market for. This is the type of low and underhanded business dealings I would expect from a small privately owned used car dealership not a large affiliated Toyota dealership. They post vehicles at a reasonable price when you get there they have none of the product they are selling at the prices they are listing. I am sure Stephanie will send an apology. From the looks of all the reviews this is their modus operandi the business manager is constantly apologizing however, when the apologies come so frequent they are worth less and carry no effect. read more

A few weeks later I received a phone call saying the bank will approve it if we take out the extended warranty . Worse decision I made as the car engine blew 6 weeks later . Called them back and ask if they could help with the issue . Art ( manager ) stated you bought it as is and there is nothing they would do about it . I just had the most Excellent experience at this place. While driving to Disneyland with my family in the car my ford transit began to have issues. We stopped at Swanson-Fahrney Ford to ask for advice knowing that it would be impossible to get in so fast. They did not have any appointments Available and after explaining our situation the service advisor connected us with a mechanic named Ernie. Ernie was amazing! He ran diagnostics on our vehicle, cleaned some sensors, and recommended a fuel additive that they had there in the parts department. Ernie helped us out so much and we are back on the road to Disneyland! Can't believe what amazing service we got!! We really appreciate it! Thank you Ernie for saving our Vacation!!! read more

Once you take that car off of the lot, NOBODY at Fahrney Ford will honor their word or help you out. Jose (an apparent former salesman for the used car lot across the street) promised to fill our tank and wash our new car but it never got done. After having to bring in a new car to fix the front facing camera, Kong refuses to honor these promises because "It's too expensive". RIDICULOUS. We waited for over a month for this camera to come in and they never contacted us at any time. WE had to keep calling and calling to find out what was going on. THIS IS A CAR WITH 3000 MILES ON IT WHEN WE BOUGHT IT AND WE HAD IT FOR 3 WEEKS BEFORE NEEDING TO TAKE IT IN! We shouldn't even be needing service. This place continues to rip me off for a purchase I made in 2016! BEWARE if you buy a used vehicle extended warranty because they will not tell you that the warranty starts the day that vehicle is FIRST RELEASED! I purchased a 72 month warranty 6/2016 on my 2014 Jeep Compass I was told today that it expired, the warranty started 7/15/2013 almost 3 years before I purchased it! I was lied to about so many things from not being able to drive it off the lot without purchasing insurance from them, I already had full coverage on my trade-in, I signed a release of liability on my trade in, to a year and a half later receiving a very large fine from Fresno PD for parking it in a bus zone, apparently the money paid for all the DMV paperwork was not handle by Fahrney. I was able to work with FPD and get that taken care of with no help from this company! I have replaced front & rear breaks, had to have the whole cooling system hoses redone because the radiator was full of rust, nothing covered by the warranty! I absolutely hate this company and would never in a million years purchase or recommend purchasing here! read more

I have a 2012 Explorer that had the same windshield trim issues all the others are having where it flies off while driving. According to their customer care professionals there was never a recall issued for this problem...so, I needed a quote since like I said... they informed me there was no recall on this issue even though the same issue was all over the internet. After spending a half hour on the phone speaking with a half dozen people I was informed that the part(s) itself would be $151.34 with tax and another $150 for the install; over $300 dollars. I bought the parts off of Amazon for $76 and installed them myself. I don't think I'll be buying a new Explorer from Fahrney next year. read more

This is in regards to the sales side . I am a no nonsense type of girl . Actually I dread buying a car at a dealership for all the reasons you already know but I did my homework and than I went in . I already had my eye on a used car they had on the lot and I was already approved for a car loan with my bank to purchase a used vehicle at an interest rate of 5.5 percent . I told the sales person what I would be willing to pay for the vehicle , I offered 1,000 less than the dealer advertised price , I told him I would be putting 10,000 down I told him I was already prequalified with my bank at an interest rate of 5.5 % I would not need dealership assistance with financing . I told the salesperson al of this and his words to me were and I quote " that is perfect , we can do it " , then he left for a moment came back and said to me . ." what if I can get you a lower interest rate than 5.5 percent ? Well I didn't want my credit ran again I know that repeatedly running your credit can lower your credit score and I had worked hard to bring my credit score up so I hesitated , but he persisted saying I can bring your interest rate down to 3.99 percent and your monthly payment will be even lower . I said well, if that's really the case go ahead and run my credit I would love an interest rate of 3.99 percent Well , I should have known, is it because I'm a girl , or is it because you can't trust anyone in this world but now he comes back in where I'm admiring my soon to be mine car and without batting an eye or feeling an ounce of shame the salesman says in a bright voice " I has great news for you"! He proceeds to show me a paper with my monthly payment 125.00 more than what it would be at 5.5 percent which is what my lender had already offered me, the interest rate he can secure for me is 6.2 percent and to add insult to injury the paper he shows me has a full purchase price offer for the vehicle which is not what I offered to pay , but wait he has also tacked on an 1162.00 extended warranty contract which I never agreed to . I could not believe what I was hearing . He ran my credit which is the last thing I wanted him to do he flat out lied and tricked me about everything . I had been honest , straightforward and , well I was so upset I could feel tears coming so needless to say I walked out asking him to never text me again telling me how he had just the car for me ...To the owners and managers of Swanson Fahrney II realize that selling cars may be a tough way to earn a living , commissions are made in the car deal , the loan you can sell your purchaser and on tacking on extended warranty contracts . All of this is perfectly permissible if the customer is aware . But never should any of these things occur when it's at the expense of a customer who you have intentionally not been honest with , a customer who comes in wanting to be treated fairly and most important with honesty . If the salesperson had said I can't promise you a lower interest but I would like to try that would have been totally different , instead I was told that he could lower the interest , he said the amount offered for the vehicle was acceptable , definitely could be done lie number 2 and then to just tack on another 1162.00 without discussing it with me first , is this how your salespeople operate ? . If your salespeople are so poorly trained that they don't understand the importance of the golden rule, which is treat your customers as you yourself would want to be treated , If they lack the insight to realize the importance in that than I frankly don't know how you stay in business . read more

I don't write many reviews and unfortunately this review is due to multiple "small issues" I feel people should be aware about when buying a used car and also buying from Fahrney. First i'll start by saying all communication with their used car department was pleasant and timely. The staff was friendly and overall the buying "experince" went ok and the price I paid for my vehicle was fair. That's why they got 2 stars. However, once I drove home with the car, that's when things went down. First, my 2017 used vehicle only came with 1 key fob, not 2. Now, I did not ask if it came with 2 but it was not disclosed and when I discussed this issue with them, they stated that they could try to assist me by getting some type of "dealer discount" on another key fob, yet when the process was started, i was told the total would be around $300 for a new key and programming. There goes the "ok" price. I spoke to my salesman about it again, and now the pleasant and timely response has gone to no response at all. Secondly, my car was supposed to go through their shop and get detailed after I bought it. When I picked it up, it looked clean and tidy, however, when driving home and playing with all the new buttons and knobs, I noticed that one tire had 10lbs of pressure less than the others. I thought, hmmm, maybe I ran over a nail or screw. Yet 30 miles later, I got home and the tire pressure was still 10lbs lower than the others. I looked in the tire and easily saw a screw stuck in it. Now if I ran over it and lost 10lbs of pressure immediately, I would have had a flat tire on the freeway. Since the pressure stayed the same the whole way home, this means the screw was in there for a while. Even though this was a quick and easy fix at America's tire company, it doesn't give me confidence about any inspection on the vehicle. Lastly, when signing paper work with the finance guy, I signed for a charge which was for some "anti theft code". Now I know this is my fault for not listening clearly to the salesman, but after looking through the paper work I read that this is an "optional" $250 add on. What upsets me is that this add on was not "added" after agreeing to it, but already "added" into my monthly payment (which for some reason I assumed was included in the price of the car). This is frustrating because after 3 hours of paper work and signing, they were able to get me to buy something that I did not care for. I hope this review assists others in not only deciding where they buy a used car, but also the process in general. The excitement of a "new" used car can distract people from asking appropriate questions and making the right decision. read more

Worst dealership in the Central Valley. Earlier in November I was in contact with Harold and Jacob. Harold sent me an email giving me an appraisal on a Trade in/Purchase. Contacted the dealership and was assured by Jacob they would give me the amount the email promised. I made sure they understood I was not interested in buying a vehicle and only selling mine and that I was traveling from over 1 1/2 hours away and did not want to waste my time with anything else. Jacob ensured me their offer was fair and they would purchase my vehicle at the appraised price and we set an appointment date. Long story short, when I got there, they tried to push a vehicle on me, then a tall Hispanic so-called salesman tried pushing up on me as if I had no other choice but to take their new offer of 10K less for my vehicle even after I showed them the email where they promised me a certain price. I asked for Harold to speak with me regarding his lie. Harold spoke with me and put on a fake Hollywood skit where he acted upset with the appraiser who would not honor his initial offer. Harold tried giving me a $25 gift card for my troubles which I of course refused. I spoke to a floor manager whose excuse was my vehicle was not worth what was promised to me in the email. These people are luring customers in based on lies and don't care if you leave upset and lied to. If you can't trust these so-called salesman when they give you their word over the phone or in writing, then how can you trust spending thousands of dollars on one of their vehicles. Just my recent experience and I don't need any lectures on what to expect from a used car salesman. I have bought many cars from other dealerships and have never been treated this way. Worst car dealership ever, I went in to see a truck at Royal that was marked in the ad for 36036.00 I arrived , test drove, liked and proceeded to negotiate. I explained to them that I only want GM financial to run my credit since the dealer is not financing there is no reason for them to run my credit, Of course they ran it anyways without my permission. If you don't know every time your credit is ran it drops your score 10 to 20 points. So here we go with negotiations. First thing they put an additional $3000 dollars on the price for rims and tires, The ad and the window sticker both said $36k+. Now they want 36k plus 3k for rims and tires. I did not give in, I am putting $9200 down on vehicle. I got my way with the tires and rims. So basically I have a 45k truck and only owe 31k when I leave the lot. So while in with the finance person, he is really trying hard to sell me gap insurance on the loan. I explained to him that the truck will never be upside down with the generous down payment and the 6k rebate that was also on truck. As I drive off the lot the truck is still valued above 40k and this guy is relentless with this gap insurance. WHY DO THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THERE CUSTOMERS AND TRY TO SELL THEM EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN EVEN IF NOT NEEDED. Pure greed. Getting back to the credit report, My credit has always been above 820 for the last 20 years. Always get the best rates because I am careful with my credit. I have 5 different credit monitoring company's alerting me when something is out of unordinary. Before I leave the car lot I get 7 alerts. Credit ran by Swanson Fahrney, credit ran by GM financial, credit ran by some credit union they try to persuade me to use. By midnight my credit score tanked to 702. Yes that's right, it dropped over 118 points because the car lot went against my wishes about running my credit report more than once. All along my salesman is telling me that we are basing everything off of what Im telling them, WHAT A LIE Because they ran my credit so many times, GM financial said I was 10 points below the lowest rate possible, WHAT A JOKE My advise, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, ANYWHERE ELSE BUT THIS CAR LOT read more

I visited this location today and my experience was absolutely AWFUL to say the very least. Alvaro's service was great but as soon as he brought in a coworker who was talking numbers with me he was absolutely awful. He was extremely rude and actually refused to give me my keys back when i asked them SEVERAL times for it. I let them know that i wanted to check a few other dealerships out before making a final decision and that's when it started. He even came out and said he was going to find out the "truth" about me getting a better deal at another dealership whatever that means. When he finally did give me my car keys back he just stuck his hand out behind him and didn't even look my way. Felt completely degraded. At no point should anyone ever refuse to give me MY own car keys back and the rest of the men in the dealership just stood by and watched as this went on. I have never written a review before in my life but after how bad this dealer tried to screw me and my wife over I decided it was well worth going out of my way to create a yelp account and share my experience. My wife bought a 2017 Jeep from them 3 months ago the first day she brought it home got a check engine light and would not shift out of drive to park I scanned it and found a transmission code, turned it off and back on went away and drove normal, check engine light came back and would go intermittently, then the transmission started humming loud and the light would not go away so we took it in because I careful reviewed the power train warranty and decided I would let them fix it rather than me since the part was $150. We took it in and they were really nice at first I gave them the code and left the car with them they said they would need to call Jeep and it should only be 2 days til they called us back. 10 days later they weren't accepting our calls they kept transferring me all over the place and just kept saying they couldn't get ahold of Jeep. After 2 weeks they finally call me and say Jeep finally answered and the car was not covered under power train but they would do the job themselves for $997 I said no I'll take it home and do it myself for about $250 they said fine you still owe us $147 for a diagnostics even though I told them exactly what was wrong with it and they didn't even look into anything. I decided to call the Jeep dealership myself because I wanted to hear for myself it wasn't covered the Jeep dealership told me yes Fahrney just called earlier that day but they didn't have a part number on the bad part so they said they would call back but never did call the Jeep dealership back instead they just called me and said it wasn't covered. I went in to pick up the car from Fahrney and I said before I pay you I want the part number on the transmission sensor they had me wait an hour in the waiting room with my 1 month old son screaming his head off before they decided to tell me they didn't have a partn number for it and they coincidentally lost all the maintenance paperwork on the car. I took the Jeep across the street to the Jeep dealer and they were amazing to us very friendly and they called us back the next day and sure enough the transmission was covered, they replaced the sensor test drove it and decided to put a brand new transmission in for peace of mind, they also supplied us with a rental car all free of charge. I will never do business with this dealer again. read more

This place started strong with arranging for a vehicle to be ready for me to view as I passed through town and had the family and dog with us. We were driving from Bakersfield so this was very convenient. The vehicle showed well but we wanted to look at one more before we decided, but we had all of our paperwork with us and were prepared to pull the trigger this weekend on something. We decided we wanted to see this vehicle again the next day, so I arranged an appointment with the salesman for the next morning. Today we got up early, got the kids and dog watched due to this C19 garbage and drove all the way to the dealership. We even got a call and text confirming our appointment at 11. Well, when we get there, the salesmen whom was supposed to help us wasn't there. Ok, I can deal with that. But the problem was, neither was the vehicle! I called the office and no one in there had a clue what was going on. Another two salesmen come out, they don't know what the hell they're talking about or looking for either, but one does acknowledge that the girls in the office are bubble heads and just follow a script. 30 minutes later and we have confirmation the vehicle was sold last night and no one gave us the courtesy of a phone call to cancel our appointment. Really? Sales are down 40% in March and this is how ineffectively you communicate with a customer whom is ready to buy? I understand sales, and good for you for selling the vehicle, but bad form wasting my time AND giving me the run around. read more

This dealership has caused my family and I, nothing but problems and heartaches. There service department is one of the most unprofessional in the business. Beware of taking your vehicle into them as they are most likely to ruin your vehicle. Once, they ruin my vehicle and admitted fault they did nothing to fix it. They left my family without a vehicle for over a month, with the car seats still in it. It was like pulling teeth to have them provide us with a courtesy car. They refused to bring us one as we could not drive down there to get one (they have our car). After sometime, and one manager after another one, they brought us a car but by that time it was too late. One of the many visits to their service department (there head mechanic) took our vehicle home and drove it around with other people in the vehicle. When the vehicle was returned, there was another personal property left in our vehicle. So bad, we gave them the vehicle with half a tank and it was returned with 19 miles to empty. They refused to pay for the gas and at least get us back to half a tank. There mechanic work was so bad that the vehicle leaked oil all over my driveway and garage (this was after they returned it to us) they sent there manager over to our house to use a cleaner to scrub the oil stains, but of course there still there. Trying to work with other departments within the dealership was just as bad. I have never felt so undermined and taking advantage of. We contacted the head people of this dealership and in a nut shell told (too bad, we are not going to help you.) For the past six month has been nothing but a disaster. They even text us saying come on in and let see what we can do to get you out of your vehicle. I went down the dealership and nobody knew a thing about me being there and once again all they wanted to do was sell me another vehicle. They were told, my business would never be done there again. Buyers/Service customers beware, of this shitty ass dealership. I enjoy a good Ford vehicle but will never deal with Selma Fahrney Ford again. For having such a good name for so long, this is a great way to ruin it. Great job Fahrney!!!!!!! I will forever discourage people to do business with them and warn them. If they so choose, USE CAUTION, keep track of your belongings, miles, etc...... They will rip you off. read more
