What really separates Sauced from a lot of wing places, though, is that they're actually doing the work. Everything is homemade and prepared from scratch in the kitchen, and you can taste it. The atmosphere is fantastic. Plenty of TVs, plenty of staff, and everyone seems to know exactly what they're supposed to be doing. The team is attentive, friendly and genuinely seems happy to be there. As someone who has spent a lot of years in restaurants, I notice that stuff. I've eaten a lot of wings. The waiter asked me if I wanted to add bacon...well of course I do! Man what a good suggestion. Honesty, it may have been some odd mistake because that burger seemed loaded up with crispy bacon. It literally had bacon on the bottom and top of the patties...it was amazing. I think I told my wife 3 times, "There really has bacon on the top AND BOTTOM of this thing!" Patties were perfectly seasoned, vegetables were fresh, cheese was melty, freaking chef's kiss baby! This burger hit the spot. I paired it with the mac and cheese, solid option to have as a side other than fries. He was incredibly friendly, took the time to tell us a little about San Antonio, and genuinely made us feel welcomed to the city. We mentioned that we needed to make a quick grocery store run but would stop by McIntyre's afterward. Sure enough, when we arrived later, Robert recognized us immediately and welcomed us with open arms! From the moment we walked in, he made us feel like celebrities. His hospitality, personality, and attention made us feel incredibly special. It's amazing how one person can completely elevate your experience while visiting a new city.
