My field partner, for work, and I were out in Fairport when the lunch hour struck. We wanted something quick so we could get back to work. I went to Yelp and found Fairport Hots! There are giant signs all over the building with all their delicious options. My partner got a garbage plate and I got a chicken finger wrap. My wrap was so good; perfectly sauced and great amount of ingredients. My partner said her plate was very good! I wanted to get a milkshake but realized they only have a couple flavors, so chose not to. I bet it would have been great though. The employee was so nice and professional. Worst customer service even worse food I ordered a combo plate one hot dog and one cheeseburger with Mac salad and home fries. All of the employees were high, could smell weed as we walked by the back door. Mac salad- macaroni was soft, which wouldn't be a problem if there's was anything besides mayonnaise in it. It had no flavor. Although the food was just mediocre, we weren't expecting five star dining. The thing that ruined the experience was the very loud techno music that the employees had blaring the whole time. When I say loud, we were sitting together at a table and had to speak to each other quite loudly to hear. My four year old kept saying "it's too loud." Ohhhh Fairport Hots, how I have a love/hate relationship. Everyone loves coming here when drunk. I am not sure anyone can deal with a garbage plate if they aren't drunk. I won't eat a garbage plate, drunk or sober, so I always get chicken fingers & French fries. I love their chicken fingers and their BBQ sauce. Heinz has some good BBQ sauce. Adam always loves his garbage plate. They remodeled after I left college and it is much better. There is a good amount of seating. There are bathrooms there for you and everything is bright and clean. The prices are good for the food you are getting and everyone always leaves full and happy. If you've never had a garbage plate, you'll have to try one if you ever get to Rochester. I've never been to Nick Tahou's or anything, keep planning on it, but I can't imagine it could be that much better than Fairport Hots. Whenever I'm in the eastern Rochester area, I try to hit up Fairport Hots at least once. The Jr. Varsity (Garbage) Plate is freakin $6 and it's like 6 lbs of food. It's massive, and that's the smallest plate you can get. Load it up with the hot sauce, onions, ketchup, and I swear your arteries will be clogged right quick. Plus they're now expanding the joint, so it will be much bigger in a few months. Hope the currently low prices don't increase to pay for this expansion! read more

This is always my favorite place to visit after a night our in Rochester. I always get the plate with the two cheeseburgers and home fries. It's always a good consistent plate and their meat hot sauce is my all time favorite. Prices are low and service is fast. This makes for the best after drinking food you can get! Hots too hot. Ordered a plate and asked for no hot sauce, but they put it on anyways. Wouldn't be a big deal but the hot sauce was too much. It took over the taste of everything, and was far too hot. We waited 30+ min for frozen food that was defrosted and cooked for us. The pricing was ridiculous, a wrap was 11 dollars. If you want something cheaper be prepared to face a thin defrosted patty that you pay 4 dollars for. If you want a sizable burger you can always have a giant lard ridden specialty burger for around 10 bucks. All in all this place is sub par. If you want great food for much cheaper price check out Dog Town in the city. It's a little more if a drive but the food is made fresh, and you can get a specialty dog for around 5 bucks. With fairport hots it's a different story, someone should never have to pay 8 bucks for a store bought hotdog that they put on a grill, and frozen fries. Waiting 30 minutes for a sad overpriced wrap with baked beans and fries in it is ridiculous. The food was meh, the wait was too fucking long, and the prices were high. read more

I went to this place regularly during my 2016-17 school year. It's a local hangout for local college students to go to for late night bites. Considering this place is open until 2am and later, it's perfect. Besides the convenience of this place, I have to speak to the food, and that's the thing that matters most. The meat sauce is seriously hot. They weren't kidding! The major convenience of this place is that they actually sell quarts of their meat hot, which is great for college students who want to bring some home when they leave for the weekend or people that don't want to go out all the time and can't make it. Other than that, it's pretty average with everything else in the area. They do have some pretty different selections from other places, so there's that draw if you like it better here than somewhere else. Overall, this place is a must if you're in the area for a quick and good garbage plate! read more

Wow. I had never experienced a Rochester garbage plate before, and I'm still not sure if I'm a fan. I kind of felt like I ordered beans from a can with some french fries and a flat sausage patty from the grocery store. Nothing felt original or homemade, and there wasn't that much meat as the patty was very thin. I definitely made the wrong call getting the 'hot sauce' (spicy meat sauce) on the side because it made it seem less cohesive--more like I had just ordered italian sausage (which is in patty form). Ordered pizza logs, plain hamburger and Jv cheeseburger plate w side of fries for take out. Requested fries well done and crispy. Received mildly warm food in less than 15 mins. Fries were soggy and grossly undercooked. Hamburger on plate was cold (should include microwave instructions) pizza logs also mildly warm. Hamburger was overcooked pre-made and cold. So most was a toss out. Will be phoning tomorrow to discuss w owner. At 7:30 the place is empty. I live less than two miles away so food could not have become cold in transit. So that means one of two things. The food was pre prepared. Or the 15-20 min pickup time was overly stated by 2x. Tom Wahls is closer and the food is way better. Returned burger and fries the next day. Young man who cooked my food was at register and argued with me about the food in front of other customers. Really? Soggy fries do not lie. Craving a garbage plate but I was nowhere near downtown. A friend recommended Hungrys in Pittsford or Fairport Hots. Called them and ordered a Combo plate(red hot cheeseburger) mac salad, home fries, hot sauce , no mustard to go. Was told 15 mins, went there, place was super clean and tidy. The plate itself was very good, the mac salad was just as good as Nick's but the hot meatsauce was ok, a bit thick for my taste. Cost of the plate $10. Large unique menu. Will be back. I understand that this is not the original "garbage plate". I have been to Nick Tahou's and many other "hots" places since relocating here years ago. There are some very good plates out there, but this is the best. That mac salad is so creamy, so unlike any mac salad I've ever tasted, you WILL crave it once you leave. Everything is fresh, never "thrown together". The dogs are always grilled so perfectly, the burgers are sizzling hot. The meat sauce is definitely some of the spiciest available, I've learned to get half the standard amount and it still works. The beans are out of this world and the bread is always incredibly soft and fresh. This is the place to go for plates, never been disappointed. I went to fairport hots and it was awful service. There was about 50 kids in line waiting to have their order taken after i placed mine. The guys at the counter were more concerned about keeping taking more orders to keep their tips coming in the tip jar but totally ignored me when i asked for my food even though it sat there getting cold for 15 minutes. Disgusting! I had as a result stone cold food and it suddenly became apparent why almost every grubhub order has come cold to my family and I. Way to go fairport hots! I came all the way from Farmington ny next time i will order somewhere else and those guys at the counter will get no tip from me ever again. I evem saw delivery people giving up and leaving after waiting 30 minutes for a to go order. I ordered a double cheeseburger plate; the thing I've been ordering there for almost 10 years. The cheeseburgers were completely pink, except for the outside. My first time and last time coming into Fairport Hots was very disapointing! Being new to the area, decided to try a new place. Burgers were ordered with NO ONIONS. Get the order, they have ONIONS. I ordered a wrap from Fairport Hots and my order was incorrect. I ordered honey mustard sauce and I did not receive it with my order. Also, the proportion of food inside the wrap was off, it was like I ordered a lettuce wrap with a side of chicken in it. I called that day to tell them that my order was incorrect and the man I talked to told me that I would receive a refund on my wrap and I a few days later I checked my account and I did not receive the refund. I then called the manager and she told me that I could not get a refund for the mistake they made. They were no help to me and did not seem to be concerned by the fact that my order was not prepared correctly. I will not be ordering food from this restuarant ever again! read more

We were wowed by how incredibly delicious our food was, and by how amazingly kind and generous the staff were. Our family of six descended on this clean bright joint and we had hot well made burgers, hot dogs and a plate in minutes. When my son became upset that he had changed his mind on what he wanted too late, the staff overheard him and made him a complimentary replacement sandwich. How sweet is that? The kids meals all come with 20 bottled drinks - quite a value. I got a steak and cheese plate . The steak was seared crisp, and got a little lost amid all the cheese, hot sauce and sides but the flavor and texture were on point. Not at all mushy as usually happens with garbage plates.
