I have been to the Fairport Mac's Philly Steak a few times- today was a day I decided to take an order to go. The Counter service was quick, but the person was slightly confused by the tablet register- but figured it out... I Love the Philly ambiance- as someone who lived in Philly for 10 years- it is comforting to see so many great sights.. The Garlic Parm Steak with Onions and Peppers is always my Go To- YumO.. And fried Mushrooms- what more can you says Yes Please!! My two struggles- 1-the soda (Diet Pepsi) was totally flat. In the past I have gotten a little basket of mushrooms when I order.. but I got this small box for $10... ugh.. next time I might pass on the mushrooms- they are good but costly The steaks are the main star of Macs and I will be for them!! read more

Great service at Mac's Fairport. The food was made quickly and brought out to us. The location is small and cozy. Plenty of booths and tables to choose from. You can choose between bottle or fountain drinks with your meal. Loved the food. Cheesesteak was tasty, though the roll split while I was eating. They offer forks which makes this an easy fix. The fries have a unique seasoning to them which added flavor. I think Canandaigua Mac's is the best but it's nice to have an option closer to home. Restrooms available for customers only. read more

Philly Steak was a decent size I ordered the largest they had. Steak was ok but cheese was almost nonexistent and was super disappointed in there Rolls. Onion Rings Were Nice & Crispy. Good but Nothing Special read more

My 8 inch cheese steak sub was made with both halves of the roll separated from each other (no 'hinge'). This made the crumbled steak fall everywhere as soon as I tried to pick it up. What I had hoped to be a relaxing lunch turned out much less so. read more

Food was good with friendly service. If you are looking for fast food, this is not it. We went on a Saturday at 1 PM. There was a line, 6 people in front of us. Our food took 15-20 minutes to come out. Which was okay for us. Food was fresh and warm. Only complaint I have is that the onion rings soaked up a lot of grease and seemed a little burnt/over done. I personally would not get them again. The cheesesteaks were delicious. read more

Nothing special. Frozen beef, inadequately seasoned. Too dry. Lower echelon "Philly area" long rolls. A good rule of thumb if you want a cheesesteak is to not buy a "Philly Steak" because they are not the same. read more

I loved my dinner from here. The macaroni salad and French fries were delicious. I thought that it was reasonably priced and a great portion-size. The staff were very friendly when I went in to pick up my order. The macaroni salad was super good, and was exactly what I was craving. I even had leftovers which is always a plus. The fries were crispy just how I like them. I also appreciated how hot they were as I ordered this to-go. I would definitely go back and would recommend this place! read more

This is the second time in a year I placed order with them and they messed up my order when I say no hot sauce or meat sauce I don't expect it on my order however it was. I don't understand why it's so hard to understand simple directions used to be absolutely wonderful. I'm not sure if it's a new staff or why but simple instructions are too difficult for them. read more

Waited about 45min for a sandwhich all while listening to the "manager" complain in the dining area about all the customers orders. Girl at register couldnt drop a conversation for 30 seconds to take our order. I love macs other locations but PLEASE AVOID FAIRPORT. This place should shut down. If I could give a negative star I would. You couldnt pay me to eat here... read more

For being a cheesesteak restaurant, I had very high hopes! Surprisingly, though, I my cheesesteak from Mac's didn't make my mental top 3 spot, despite the fact that it is their namesake! The meat came chopped up really small and there wasn't a lot in the sub. What I love at Mac's are the mac and cheese bites-they are the most reasonably priced around Fairport. I'll definitely be back because it's very convenient, but I don't think cheesesteaks are the best around. read more

I've ordered from this place many times and the past several have been disappointing. They scrimp on the meat and are not worth the price. Sure the bread is fresh but it's a Philly cheesesteak for a reason and the bread ain't it. They've gone downhill. I don't like leaving negative reviews but hopefully they see this and stop being so stingy with the fillings. read more

If I want a Philly steak sandwich, I prefer the places that specialize in them. This is the specialty at Mac's and they do it like no other place in the city. The bread, the steak and the sauces are all great. Service is always good if you don't mind a 10 minute wait. I had visited the locations in Canandaigua and on Commercial. Neither compared to the new Macs in Fairport. You'll have to try it. read more

I've been meaning to do a trip to Philly for proper cheese steak but haven't had the chance. Was in Fairport visiting family for Labor Day weekend and decided to go to Mac's. Such a great philly cheese steak. The bacon blue cheese steak is amazing! The meat is moist. Honestly better than a real philly cheese steak. The chicken is a little more dry but if you put enough sauce on it for something like the buffalo chicken then its a little better. But then again they are know for the steak. French fries and sweet potato fries are both super crunchy which is great! read more

Lunch today was 4" cheesesteak with mushrooms and onions, fries, and a pop. First the cheesesteak: soft bread direct from Philly. Excellent bread. Wish it had a bit of a crunch to it though. Meat was a small chop like I like it. Could have used more meat in it though. There was 1 chunk of inedible fattiness which was disappointing. Sorta skimpy on the onions and mushrooms. Although that all sounds negative it was a delish sandwich. Wish they had the cheese whiz style cheese too. Just for variety. Fries: nicely seasoned and crispy. I think they're those kind you buy frozen that have that crust on them to make them extra crispy. Pop: they had Mello Yello and cherry coke! Who has those in the dispenser anymore! All in all had a nice meal. Employees were really nice. Tasty food. Will definitely go back! read more

Disclaimer: I blame myself. I called to speak to the manager (Brett) because there were a few random pieces of meat on a veggie wrap that should NOT have had any meat on it. He told me he gives the cook a 'brand new spatula' whenever someone orders a veggie sandwich but also said the cook must have 'accidentally scooped up some meat with the veggies'. The problem isn't the spatula, but clearly if the meat and veggies are near each other enough to make this mistake, then they aren't really trying to honor their non-meat eating customers...who, fair enough, are probably few and far between. At any rate, despite being offered another sandwich (umm, no thank you) or a future credit (still no), I was so disappointed all around. Either they should take the veggie option off the menu or all non-meat eaters should learn from my mistake! read more

One of several locations, Mac's is known for their Philly Steaks and for good reason. The staff was very helpful in providing different options of the numerous sandwich options. If you want a good Cheesesteak and don't want to voyage down to Gino's or Pat's, then hit one of the several spots in town. After careful consideration, I was talked into getting the Bacon Blue Cheesesteak. If you like blue cheese, then this is the sandwich for you. Overall a 4.2 and a top spot for a Cheesesteak in the area. read more

I order off of DoorDash and had it delivered and I ordered a Philly cheese steak but instead a steak wrap showed up at my house the food itself was good just a little issue with the connection to door dash. They also didn't put much cheese on the steak at all I asked for 2 cheese and there was almost nothing. Good place but has some faults. read more

I want to give them higher marks for the food, but we've now ordered for delivery from them 4 separate times over the course of a year since we moved to Fairport, and *not a single time* have we gotten our order completely or correctly. After placing the order, it is always delivered quickly... But is missing at least one main sandwich or several sides. One of these orders they made #4 (!) trips to complete our order... By the time everyone got their food, my mom's sandwich was cold, my niece filled up on her sweet potato fries... we'd long finished eating. Kinda ruined our plans for the night, having the meal come in parts in 30 minute increments where no one could eat together over 2.5 hrs. Another time they forgot a side (onion rings), confused a side of mac salad and mac and cheese, and forgot a diet Pepsi. They made 3 separate deliveries that time. They gave a free cookie as an apology. No one wanted a cookie and we didn't eat it. If they had offered to reduce the cost of any of our orders that each and every had issues, we might try again.. but as it stands, despite the food being good, I think we're done. We shouldn't have to *ask* for any compensation for the errors and delays. Orders were directly through them, not a service. Bummed, bc I think we likely over often if they were reliable. Too bad they lost a customer. read more

Marginal to my standards. I liked the bread and peppers on the traditional cheese steak however the overall flavor was one note to me. Nothing really stood out from a flavor profile. I opted for a the Mac n Cheese side as it was advertised as a new homemade recipe. This was a big let down... the cheese used had an off putting smell and taste. It looked like they used a kraft / American type cheese... trust me when I say it is not good. The recipes needs to be re tooled and I say this as a Mac Pro. read more

Mac's has some decent food but can be hit and miss depending on your experience with Food before and expectations. For example, when you order the Buffalo Chicken Philly, it's finely chopped chicken with little texture (not breaded/fried or grilled crunch chicken). There's plenty or great food though (the Reuben Philly, the Country Sweet Philly, the fries and garbage plates). Also the service has always been great and the delivery always seems to be within 30 minutes and he food piping hot. All in all a good place to eat and you'll come back for more. read more

Stopped by here after the long bike ride on the Erie canal and it definitely hit the spot. Staff is very nice, food came out as take out (during Covid) super fast and piping hot. We sat and ate at one of the outdoor tables. Bonus, take out food are served in paper containers (sustainable!!). The portion is generous too. Huge selection and price is very reasonable. Highly recommended!!! read more

My wife and I ordered dinner and I got a macs cheeseburger plate with only meat hot on it and my wife got a salami sub in which came right. I got a plate with everything on it and it looked like the burgers were half chewed. I called back and ordered the right meal. What I got back was a takeout box filled with grease from the meat hot sauce! It looked so dam disgusting looking I just through it out and went to Wendy's and got a great meal. I have been a customer of them for over five years and told them that. The lady on the phone did not care and just wanted me off the phone. As a canandaigua customer I highly recommend not going there because they don't care for the ones that always go back for orders. read more

My favorite Philly cheesesteak spot :)! Did takeout tonight fast service & delicious food. Used to be located in east Rochester I'm glad they moved to Fairport. I highly recommend if you love cheesesteaks they have other items as well but that's what I stop in for :) they are located in a good spot with a good amount of parking for the buildings size you can eat indoors or outside in warmer weather. Always good quality service and great food highly recommend! Yum! read more

Authentic philly steak right in your back yard. The meat has nice sized ribbons and you can get it made to order with any toppings you want. Not terribly greasy, and I never get any flack for occasionaly wanting some extra cheese, bacon, and jalapeno. Though it can get a little pricy I would still highly reccomend. read more

Established in 2006.

After spending many summers on the south New Jersey Shore, I came to love the taste and smells of Philadelphia cheesesteak shops and delis. Having been in the restaurant business for the past 16 years, I began thinking about the possibility of bringing this unique and authentic flavor to the upstate New York area. As I started making phone calls to friends and family in Philadelphia, it became clear to me that a genuine cheesesteak is served on an Amoroso roll; a roll so unique that it became imperative that I import this product directly from Philadelphia. Otherwise, Mac's cheesesteaks would not be the true cheesesteak that I was striving for.

We started with a flight of mediocre (as it turned out) red wines; a Grenache, an Italian varietal, and a Cabernet. 3x2 or 6 ounces for $15.00. None of the wines were very good. We like to sample wines by the flight so we can drive up to Georgetown liquor and get a bottle. None of these were even close to prompting a visit there. For food we had a peach, tomato, quinoa, goat, and kale salad. We also had a cheese flight and I had the spicy meatballs. Expensive and very small portions. My meatball app was $15 and was 1 and 1/2 small meatballs doused in Frank's with a squirt of blue cheese. It was spicy as advertised but meager. Cheese flight was ok, but also $13 for not a lot. Spoiler alert: if their menu says 'shareable', it's not, unless one of you (or both) are fasting. Service was adequate and we got to enjoy the live music entertainment sound check (we got there before the actual performance). Guy banging on the percussion box: yes, it's way too loud for the tiny space. Usual server upselling of their overpriced menu items and drinks, but not delivering much in the way of hospitality or warmth. I don't think we would go back unless one of our friends wanted to. I think if you just want to drink and listen to live music, this place will work for you.
