I must say I love this place! Service is always attentive, the dining area and bathroom is clean. I've only been here a couple of times for the hotpot and appetizers, so far everything was good and prices are pretty cheap. Everything taste pretty fresh. I usually get the prime rib eye with the rib bone broth (I thought it would come with those soup bones in it but nope) and the kimchi broth. I just giggle at the kim chi broth. I would not recommend that broth, it seems like it's made from powder with fresh napa, chili slices and carrots.... I've never seen carrots in kimchi broth. After coming in for hot pot today, this place is hands down new go to for hot pot. I eat a lot of hot pot and most of the time feel unsatisfied with either quality or price and this place has both quality and value. My boyfriend has been asking me to come here for a long time now and I've been skeptical about it because it's a small cafe but no more. The hot pot broth was soooo good, we had both the beef broth and kim chi. I really liked that they name each item they bring to the table rather than just throwing them on to the table. Quality of ingredients tops the AYCE sushi and hotpot place down the street. Also the smoothies are made with FRESH fruit, watermelon lychee is A1. They also serve beer here too, which makes me happy lol Definitely a must try for anyone who loves hot pot. read more

I did extensive research on local hotpot places because tis the season where getting a broth steam is so necessary with the outside temperatures. Most of the other ones in the area have bad or fake (L&C, a "user" posted the same picture on their yelp review as the owners on their Facebook page....like come on) reviews. Upon first entering it looks deceivingly small, but there is a second back room to the left side to accommodate more patrons. My friend and I immediately opted for the all you can eat hotpot option cause....well let's be serious. I unfortunately didn't indulge in much of the seafood as my dining partner doesn't like seafood (womp womp), but otherwise everything we tried was fresh and of good quality. Plus the server ladies were very attentive and super nice! Huge contrast to hot pot buffet in chinatown. It's not that far of a walk from the T, but there's also plenty of street parking. One noodle soup can split with 2 people. For those who have a heavier taste buds, the fish ball noodle soup maybe too bland for you. I personally prefer less sodium so the soup base is just right. Their version of fish balls are actually fish paste FYI. The Korean beef noodle soup is basically kimchi broth and definitely on the heavier side. Do skip the vermicelli noodles as they turned soggy in the soup. The pho noodles were better. This place gives off such a homey feel and the owner/head waitress? Makes you feel so welcomed. I haven't heard great reviews about their ramen, but it wasn't negative either. Moreso along the lines of "I've had better" ANYWAYS every time I go, I get hotpot because hotpot is delicious. I usually get the kimchi broth. At first I was nervous about it because some places just throw in a bunch of pickled kimchi and serve that as broth. That's just too sour. But at Fairy, it's like an in between which i personally like. The flavor of the broth adds to the feeling of a home-cooked meal. You can either order by plate or buffet style. I order by plate and each plate is very reasonably priced! A plate of beef is just ~$6. Would recommend to my friends! read more

Came here when they first opened a few years ago when it had only a few tables. After a few years since I've been here,- I guess they've been doing good and expanded by taking over the restaurant which was next door and turned it into one. My friends wanted to go since they've never had their AYCE hotpot. Once there, it wasn't busy so we were seated right away. To be honest, nothing has changed here. Staff is very attentive but the food quality is still the same. Price is very attractive for AYCE but freshness is below average and broth was just ok. There's another AYCE about 2 miles away that is a bit on the pricey side but has more items to choose as well as much better quality in terms of freshness. read more

Great casual and cozy sit down restaurant for avid noodle soup and smoothie lovers (that's me!) This is one of my favorite spots in Quincy. I always, always get the Shrimp Tempura Noodle Soup with udon specifically which has an incomparable and home-like tomato soup base and is served in a pretty big bowl as well (great portions). Fried rice is also really good. They are beginning to add more dishes to their menu, yay! I wouldn't say their Japanese/ramen noodle soups are the best though. Have not tried the hot pot I also order their fried chicken wings. They are pretty small in size and may not be worth it to some people but for some reason, the way they fry them just makes the taste and texture addicting to me. Gyozas are pretty good, standard--nothing extraordinary. Smoothies are delicious! I always get the mango smoothie which I'm pretty sure is made with real mangos (bonus points!! most Asian drink shops/restaurants use powder). All in all, you get a great value for what you pay. My sister got kimchi fried rice, it was pretty good. What bothered me was, the waitress we had that took our order judged the way my sister wanted her rice (add enoki). She knows what she likes/wants and this lady kept going back and forth like "that's weird, I don't think it'll be good".... etc. she even made faces which was worse. Best ramen in Quincy or in Massachusetts for that matter. I ordered the Japanese Style Ramen. The flavor of the broth was perfect (not too salty or bland) and the pork was so juicy and tender! There were three pieces of pork which was just enough and great for the price ($7.50). However, it'd be nice if there were more ramen options on the menu. There wasn't much to choose from. I've tried a lot of ramen places in Boston and nothing beats this place. Of course, it still doesn't beat the ramen that I had in China (still looking!) but this will do for now. I love how it's also near the place I'm living so that's a bonus. Service is okay. There was only one waiter as the place wasn't too busy. I came here a week ago with my family after a long day at the beach and I have not stopped thinking about it since! Granted, I've only been here once and I've only had ramen but it was the BEST ramen I've had in a long time! & not to brag but I'm pretty experienced in the ramen field! The best ramen! I've tried the Japanese Pork ramen, Tom yum ramen, and the spicy Korean beef ramen and out of those three, the japanese pork one is the best. I've tried the soup broth for the seafood and house special as well and they all have a different broth but they are all pretty good too. The ramen never disappoints and the soup broth is amazing. I've been to Hokkaido and another japanese ramen place before but I think the japanese pork one from Fairy Cafe is so much better. Definitely recommend trying the Japanese Pork ramen!! read more

This is a cute little place near Walston station. You have to find street parking and there is limited tables because it's pretty small. We waited about 10 minutes for a table and the lady was pretty nice about it. My friend ordered the seafood ramen and I got the kimchi beef ramen. The seafood was good, but not spicy at all and the kimchi beef could of been a little more spicy to me, but ti was still delicious. We also ordered the coconut shrimp. Its a pretty decent, local restaurant that is a must try. Its small and seating can be limited but the wait isn't long. I've been looking for soup dumplings and so glad I found one in Quincy. The size is slightly smaller than what I'm used to but not too bad. The meat in soup dumpling is a bit sweeter than what I like but thats just a personal preference. The ramen/udon soups are generous size. Fried oyster was good but quite expensive for four little pieces. I wasn't a fan of their smoothies (avocado and green tea) but still willing to give it a try if I see another person making it. Must try is definitely their noodle soups. read more

I'm not a ramen-aficionado so can't really benchmark Fairy Café against traditional ramen shops. The place is quaint - can seat 20 people comfortable in the restaurant. We stopped by for a late lunch around 3pm (Saturday) and the place was busy. We'd ordered the following: Coconut shrimp - generous portion and size shrimps. All nicely coated with coconut flakes. They serve the shrimp with some sort of mayo aioli which tasty a bit on the tart side. Coconut shrimp usually tastes better with a sweet sauce. Definitely worth $5.95! Seafood ramen soup - the soup broth was more on the mild side (barely taste any flavoring), the noodles were nice and chewy (good bounce texture) and generous amount of seafood (big shrimps, fish slices, imitation crab meat and squid). Decent for $7.95. Pork ramen soup - from the looks - similar to my seafood ramen soup except with pork. I like the atmosphere of the restaurant - low key and comfortable like you're stepping into someone's kitchen. Definitely worth a visit back. read more

So I am updating my review because my food knowledge has expanded and I know that what they serve is not "authentic ramen", but is it still delicious? Yes! I've been going to Fairy for years, and the main waitress (owner?) knows my order, my boyfriend's order, and even my family's orders (they do not come as often) by heart. I always get the shrimp tempura noodle soup with miso broth and ramen noodles, a must get! You can ask to change the soup base, which is a plus. The coconut shrimp came out nice and hot, nearly burned my tongue. It tasted ok by itself. Shrimp was a bit bland. However, when I dipped it into the mayo they gave me that's when it really came alive! The ramen was alright too. The noodles were a great texture and the pork was nice and fatty! What I didn't like was that the broth was a little too bland for me, and the egg inside was a little too hard boiled for my taste. Thank goodness they had the chili sauce to add some kick to the broth. All in all I had a good experience and it hits the spot when I'm craving ramen but don't want to go to Boston. read more
