This review is strictly for this location only, as I'm hopeful that this level of customer service is avoided elsewhere.
My first time eating here so I was excited and the Falafel Bowl with Garlic dressing did not disappoint. Not even a little. The greens were fresh, they didn't skimp on the falafel, and the garlic dressing was the best I've ever had. The food was so good in fact that I wish there were a way to review only the establishment separately. I realize I could avoid writing a negative review altogether but the kind of service I received this evening is definitely enough to make me not want to return. Ever.
I step up to the counter to order and there are no other customers in sight. I see three employees immediately, 2 are standing at the counter literally within reach, wiping and re-wiping the counter with a dirty greasy rag, working REALLY HARD to avoid making eye contact so they don't have to take my order. An alarm goes off somewhere, so one lady steps away to check it and then moves on to talk to their friend who had just approached the counter. A third employee appears from behind the door and glances at me standing there AT THE REGISTER, waiting to order. She then goes over and begins talking to the other employee and her friend who had come to gossip. Quite literally 3 minutes pass and just as I open my mouth to say "excuse me, I'd like to order", one of the first employees walks over to me, while texting on her phone with both hands, her head down and not making eye contact with me. I asked if I could order the falafel bowl and I tried repeatedly to ask her about the sauces and she kept texting, not once glancing up at me. I couldn't get an answer to my question so I tried to move on and order a drink but it was too late because she totaled out my order and told me how much I owed. I was absolutely blown away.
Three were at least 3 employees on the clock, I was the only customer, but it took 3 minutes to place my order because they were talking to their friends and seemingly intentionally avoiding helping me. When one finally walked over, she only took her eyes off her phone and stopped texting long enough to type my order into the register. She didn't answer any of my questions or allow me to order a drink because the conversation she was having via text on her cell phone was more important.
I've tried to consider all possible reasons why these young ladies were avoiding taking my order and then prioritizing their cell phone over doing their job. I'm not a difficult customer by any means and I am an insanely generous tipper. With that being said, this was disappointing and frustrating and I feel like it's becoming a pretty common occurrence these days in customer service. Yeah, I don't think I'll be returning to this location, ever. read more
